Since 2004 I have worked in the outdoor industry as an independent instructor and for various companies. This backgound, alongside my personal climbing continues to grow my enthusiasm and love for the great outdoors and all it entails. Based in Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland; the Cairngorms can be seen in the distance whilst accessing some great local crags close to Aberdeen itself. I am currently qualified to the level of Mountaineering Instructor Award and Winter Mountain Leader. These awards enable me to professionally work in all mountaineeirng activities in summer conditions in the UK and abroad as well as Winter walking, skills etc. Being a member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors ensures that my work is kept to a high professional standard. This is aided hrough mandatory continual professional development and a professional code of conduct. I am a provider of the Lowland Leader Award for Mountain Training Scotland and work on a number of other national awards that are administered by MTUK. My work with the Mountaineering Council of Scotland includes both voluntary and paid services. These include operating as a lead coach for the FUNdamentals of Climbing courses, delivering skills courses such as scrambling and volunteering on the annual Student Safety Seminar. I have been heavily involved with outdoor learning, team and leadership facilitation, development and enhancement as well as delivery of activities for social programmes. My previous career history has included operation and managment of a Extreme Sports Centre, Climbing Walls and Ropes Course amongst other varied work. Being in the outdoors to me is the best place to be, especially when in the mountains. My drive to instruct, coach and guide is fuelled by this love and very much makes the desire to inspire others second nature to me. Imparting even one new piece of information or inspiring someone to try something out or push a little harder gives me a lot of satisfaction, especially when they go home happy if a little tired!

This can be a lovely walk, jog or run, especially when you start from the Duthie park. I have ran from the Duthie park all the way to Cults and back. My only criticism about this path are those who cycle thinking they are doing the "Tour de France", which is annoying. Apart from that it is nice to meet and greet different people.
