Radiator in room stuck on full blast (hut sunny day). Noisy generator outside room (which could still hear when the even windows were closed). Room above teh kitchen which was noisy - crockery being washed, furniture moved, shouting and cursing) until almost midnight. Hotel has an old fusty smell. Reception staff are unfriendly. lack customer service and do the bare minimum . Worst night sleep ever.

New Hall Hotel & Spa

Lying within 26 acres of mature, elegant grounds this 60 bedroom historic country house hotel is widely reputed to be the oldest inhabited, moated manor house in England. Sympathetic renovation has provided up-to-the-minute facilities whilst retaining most of its medieval charm and character. Public areas with their fine panelling and mullioned stained-glass windows create a unique historical ambiance; the magnificent Great Chamber is particularly impressive indeed.

Excellent stay , staff are great.

Stayed with my husband. Very beautiful and charming building. Room was large and comfortable bed. Dinner was good. All the staff are very friendly but a special mention to Sarah on reception who was extremely welcoming and accommodating. You get the sense that nothing is too much trouble for her and she treats all guests very well. She is a credit to the company for sure. The only small niggles which lost a star were the breakfast the staff forgot some items and our drinks and needed reminding (not a massive issue). The spa was nice but I had prebooked a 55 min massage and I only got a 25 min one (probably human error with not checking the booking before she started, massage was lovely regardless and I was refunded for the 30 min loss). Overall a really excellent stay.

We chose this venue back in March 2020 after searching for something nice and intimate. After a conversation with them we booked for the following May. Due to covid, we decided to postpone till this May and they were fantastic about changing the dates. Even when, the new management took over and we had concerns, both Nicola and Jamie were extremely reassuring. On the lead up to the day they were always o hand to return emails quickly as we lived far away, and on the lead up to the day no request was too much for them for refused. On the day itself, everything ran very smoothly due to Nicola and Jamie working really hard to make this our best day ever and a day we would never forget. Nicola was just amazing at sorting through all of the things that I had got for the wedding and completely got inside my head with how I wanted everything looking. She was AMAZING!!! Jamie done a fantastic job of calming man husbands nerves. All of our guests had a great time and all enjoyed their stay here. Massive thank you to everyone at Brook Marston Farm for all of their hard work, including the behind the scenes staff, and a big shout to Stuart, the in house dj. He did such a great job with a fantastic range of music and happily included our choices that we wanted. He was such fun and a really lovely gentleman. I would definitely recommend this venue and can't wait t come back and stay in the future. Thanks Brook Marston Farm Mr and Mrs Burley

Place has gone downhill

So I'm writing this for a family member who stayed whilst attending a family party somewhere else. So first off when they went to check in they had to wait at least 15 mins for someone to acknowledge they were there whilst standing round doing nothing, when they got to their room they were very surprised at the standard of cleanliness. They had booked a double room and only had one towel to share between them, the coffee cups and the tray they were on was absolutely filthy, no soap, the shower tray still had hairs in from the last person, the whole bathroom was full of mould and just needed a really good clean, the toilet was dirty, and the carpet looked like it hadn't been vaccumed for weeks.. The smell of drugs was very strong also in the beer garden, on the plus the breakfast was still nice but that was about it. They had stayed previously in October as they had travelled 200 miles to attend a funeral and they could not fault the place at all, they was very happy with their stay hence the reason they booked the same place again. They didn't want to write a review as obviously it was a while ago and thought they would give the place the benefit of the doubt, but seeing all these other reviews now and previously they feel like nothing has changed at all and felt like they needed to share their experience with the place after all. They will definitely not be staying here again..

Clean, Welcoming & Great Breakfast

Reviewed By 971adamc

This is a very quaint building and interior in a quiet, secluded area. The hostess of the B&B is very friendly and greeted us warmly. There are plenty of options for breakfast and the hostess was happy to help us out with local restaurants (even made our booking!) The room was warm and the shower isn't ideal as there is nowhere to to secure it high up. But overall, a 5 star visit (there is also a dog but it isn't allowed in the B&B area, so cute!)
