The Pas (/pɑː/ PAH; French: Le Pas) is a town in Manitoba, Canada, located at the confluence of the Pasquia River and the Saskatchewan River within Division No. 21 in the Northern Region. It is approximately 630 km (390 mi) northwest of the provincial capital, Winnipeg, and 40 km (25 mi) from the border of Saskatchewan. It is sometimes still called Paskoyac by locals after the first trading post, called Fort Paskoya and constructed during French colonial rule. The Pasquia River begins in the Pasquia Hills in east central Saskatchewan. The French in 1795 knew the river as Basquiau.

Stopped in for lunch on a business trip North. Furnishings of the place are beautiful wood structures. Opted for the Quesidilla which was very good, lots of filling along with a side salad, so for a light meal, it ended up being more than I could finish. Waitress was very friendly, and the atmosphere was good!

There's a certain charm to Fat Boy's from the cafeteria-style ordering to the self-serve coffee pot. Every once in a while a customer will get up to get a refill and will take the pot around the room offering to top up your cup.
We've been there for breakfast, lunch & dinner and the food is consistently good. One of the house specialities is pickerel & fries for $8.95 - 3 pieces of fish & too many fries to finish.
When I don't feel like eating a full breakfast I'll order a bacon & tomato Sandwich and it never disappoints. There's none of that see-thru "restaurant" bacon but rather a solid serving of the real thing and thick sliced tomato. They also off eggs, toast & coffee for $3.84 if you're looking for a lighter breakfast.
Fat Boy's is worth a visit.

This place is a diamond in a desert. Food selections are fabulous and the portion quantity would feed a lumberjack. This is a Northern resto that surpasses the burger, fries, or pizza standard by an acre or 12. I have eaten here for 20 years when in The Pas and have never been disappointed. It is not the only great resto in The Pas but it is great.

This is by far the best breakfast in town! The portions are great and the food is very good (I've only ever been here for breakfast).
The decor is very unique, almost like an old trapper's cabin. You definitely won't find decor like this anywhere else.
If you're visiting The Pas, skip the same 'ol McMuffin or Timmies and try something local.

Have been here several times recently - the food is scrumptious with homemade fries, soups with a little twist
(lemon chicken rice for example). Today I had a most delicious mushroom Swiss hamburger with real mushrooms which included the soup and fries all for $10.50
I am not normally a burger/fries
person, but this was outstanding! If you haven't been here in awhile, try it again. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Why do people like Subway? Why? Whatever you order tastes the same, whichever Subway you go into smells the same. There is absolutely nothing appealing, enticing or alluring about Subway. It's a faceless chain of substandard Sandwich purveyors and, even worse, the one on the street where I work has flashing, Americanized 'positivity' slogans urging you to 'be happy'.....grrrrrrrrr!

Enjoyed a wonderful New Year's Eve Dinner here with friends. Food and service were wonderful, great selection of some "unique" food for the north, all prepared skillfully. Too bad there weren't more diners out to support this event. Only complaint would be that they seem to be seriously lacking in the wine department - usually only have a couple bottles of each on hand - unusual for a restaurant touting fine dining special events.... But I understand that you are able to bring your own and pay a corkage fee to the restaurant, a little less convenient, but I guess it would work.
Attended the wine and food pairing in December here as well. The food was amazing! Wine choices paired really well. Would highly recommend!
We also held our Staff Christmas party here. The most tender, juicy, Turkey and the BEST stuffing and bread pudding I have ever had!

This is a great place for lunch. They sell pizza by the slice and in my opinion the best pizza in town. You can smell it through out the mall. Great people running the place too. At first I thought just one slice of pepperoni but there is tons under the cheese. Yum

Went to Taavi's for lunch and thought we may have a wait because a huge group had come in not long before us. We grabbed one of the few tables left, and sat down to wait. There was no wait, really! The staff handed us menus immediately, and were there as soon as we were ready to order. The food came out very quickly, and was delicious as always. I only managed to eat half of it (the portions are huge!) The prices are low, much lower than they should be for the amount of food you get. I have never had a bad meal here, and I recommend it to anyone who likes great service and delicious food at a low cost,
