The sapphire waters of Cephalonia are steeped with history. The large Greek island was home to Odysseus, the legendary king hailed in Homer’s The Odyssey. Fortunately, it won’t take you ten years to get there. Explore the enchanting caverns of the Drogarati caves, sail to Ithaca on a glass-bottomed boat or marvel at the ancient artifacts inside the Archaeological Museum of Argostoli, Cephalonia’s main town. Or just hide from it all at one of the island’s many private beach coves.

We had a wonderful week here. I was worried about the stairs (!) it is steep but don’t let this put you off - the views are amazing. Kids pool was perfect for 3 year old and the large pool was exactly that - large! Breakfast was nice variety of warm and cold food so something for everyone. A kettle, teabags and coffee was in the room and we just asked for some milk at breakfast to keep in the fridge back in the room. It’s a pleasant walk down into the village with some amazing places to stop on the way for for food or a drink.

Sotiris is a small , family run ,3 star hotel in the village of Svoronata. The village is 9 kilometers from the island capital Argostoli with easy transport by taxi or local buses .The hotel offers a unique and relaxing holiday with the beaches of Ammes and Ai helis nearby . Hotel facilities including swimming pool , restaurant ,pool bar and free wifi.
We arrived late but the bar was still open and Peter provided drinks. On the 1st day we upgraded to half board for 10 euros a day. The food was great. Sardines to start is worth 7 Euros and the Swordfish, Mousakka, Lamb chops etc were brilliant value compared to eating out. The chef does wonders in that small kitchen from 7 to 10pm. The three pools were open but only the main pool bar. The lack of public transport meant a hire car for getting around and Greekstones were excellent value with an i10 for 150E for 6 days. They are 300m from Sotris and allow airport drop offs next to the Ikaris Taverna for your return. Room 8 in the self catering apartments had the best views. The suopermarket Katerina has everything but is about 5E a bottle of wine and Vodka about 22E. Ouzo was about 8E but if you can get to Lidls or AB's on the roundabout outside Argostoli then you are quids in. We extended our stay with 4 nights in Argostoli but returned to say goodbye to the fabalous staff at Sotris, especially Peter,

Great service from the staff. The owner is super friendly and helpful. This Place is close to the airport - it is about 5 minutes from AirPort by walking. I highly recommend it for stay - very clean and cozy.

Pictures on Love holiday is misleading don't go to this hotel ,no value for money , awful place to stay booked for 7 night and stay for 1 night only as was disgusting with everything. the property owner was not pleasant and not welcoming and very rude man, when you speak to him he reply in a rude way and shout at you . Booked on April no pool facilities ,no parasols , sun loungers as was describe in the love holiday website . Extremely weak central building, the whole furniture, kitchenet old from the time of the ancestors, scary place, The shower tub rudimentary one and no hot water . The kitchen as not advertised on love holiday website all accessory plastic smelling kettle , dirty old spoon, two teaspoons cutlery drawer filthy. Bathroom cabinet was disgusting and electrics shocking (literally). Lamp broken no shower curtain, old fashion shower. If you expect to have a double bed forget it ,only two single bed with old fashion cover, Our beds were old wooden ones with a board at bottom of bed so uncomfortable. No mosquito nets anywhere so at night you are cooped up in a box. After one night sleep we was bits by mosquitoes. Dogs barking all around at night making it impossible to sleep. Double glazed door held together with duct tape and was a mirror on the wall. No pool bar Air con doesn't function for hot or cold air was freezing cold all night and Wi-Fi only work in the patio for few minutes and cuts. Curtail stick not fix properly to the wall and fall on our head . TV from the century old ancestor just put as décor as doesn't operate, no Ariel, no connection or Netflix , terrible When discuss all these issues to property owner , he got aggressive and through us out and lies about the hold thing. Had to booked another hotel nearby and pay for another 6 days from our own pocket and Love holiday doesn't want to refund or compensate us for all these issues. They pretend that was our fault and nothing was done to rectify the problem . Don't booked with this Love holiday as they don't care about their customer. Poor service. Whole place should be gutted and refurbishing and refurnished or shut down.

On one of the few remaining olive groves located in the outskirts of Minies village we planned and built two detached villas, each one with its own swimming pool, with the purpose to provide secluded and luxurious accommodation to those seeking to explore the beautiful island of Kefalonia.
Very comfortable and ideal for relaxation. Close to Argostoli (about 10 min by car) and close to a various beaches. Private parking and a small pool ideal for children and...for a refreshing! The house has all the neccessery comforts.

We have just returned home from staying in Villa cleo at monambelas villas and would highly recommend. We have 3 children aged 9-11 years. The villa was beautiful , spotless and comfortable , spacious and characterful. We enjoyed meeting the cats -ouzo and whiskey - whiskey was very friendly! Ouzo was a scaredy cat but my daughter was determined to give him some love! The pool was gorgeous, we often felt we had the place to ourselves I think you definitely need a car here, you can walk to Sagittarius mini Market but its nearly 2km, nice walk but not with kids in the heat... there are restaurants between the Villas and the mini market- we would recommend acropolis for food and the service - Dennis was a joy! Elena (Both mum and daughter are called Elena) Were really helpful and helped us hire a car (we forgot our driving licences!) And We would highly recommend Greekstones for car hire. The offer to pick us up and drop us off at the airport and allowing us to hold onto the villa until late were all very much appreciated (all day for an additional 50euros) We loved this area driving around the airstrip and exploring the coast wuth its many beaches and popping into argostoli several times to hire a boat , turtles watch, souvineer shop was a highlight. We would highly recommend Monambeles Vills, thankyou Elena and family for having us! ?

We were there from 26.6.-3.7.2021. We arrived after 11pm and they waited for us and made the late check-in very straightforward. The hotel ist a 10 minute car ride away from Lixouri. Between Argostoli and Lixouri there is a car ferry. So you can visit the whole island from there. The rooms are very clean, the view from the room and the pool is stunning. Our room had e high-end bathroom. Leonidas is very kind and always available to give advise about the island. If you want a beautiful view, modern rooms and do like clean rooms. It is a very good choice.

Ionian Vista Villas comprises 5 independent luxury villas built amphitheatrically on the top of the cliff Farao, at Argostoli, Kefalonia, Greece.
Such a lovely spot and so peaceful, lovely room With everything needed and a lovely pool. We came when quiet but wouldn’t be enough sun loungers if full! Great location but you will need a car to explore and make the most of it. Just a 10-15 min walk down into argostoli but the roads are steep so be prepared for the way back or take a taxi for €6! Would definitely come back!

Disclaimer: we travelled to Lourdas during off season - it was therefore very quiet! We were one of two families staying. What a beautiful part of the world!!! Kefalonia truly is lovely. We arrived very early due to our flight getting in in the morning, Terry was very accommodating and allowed us to get into our rooms anyway. The apartments/maisonnettes are amazing, the photos really do not do them justice! SO CLEAN. They are 2 story, upstairs is small living area, fully equipped kitchenette and bathroom, plus a balcony with table and chairs. VIEWS ARE STUNNING. Downstairs, the bedroom, bathroom and balcony leading out onto your own garden area, which lead down to sunbathing area, picnic bench and pool. Terry was a very amazing host, nothing was too much trouble! I stayed with my family and we had 2 apartments between us, as we were half board we chose to have dinner in the breakfast area so we could sit together, rather than in our apartments which was offered to us. The meals Terry made were delicious, home cooked, local and just perfect. Portions were amazing. Similarly with breakfast, while it was a basic breakfast consisting of toast, jam, coffee, tea, juice, Terry also made a fresh omelette for us every morning. We were the only half board guests staying and could choose at what times we wanted to eat. We wanted a very relaxed holiday but if you wanted to sight see, a hire car is a must, you are quite isolated here. As I mentioned, April is during off season so all surrounding restaurants were closed and there were two super markets open out of about 5. It definitely would have been nice to go out to a restaurant one night for dinner. There was however an AMAZING bakery a short walk away, up a VERY steep hill (there are lots and lots of hills!!) but worth it for the Greek iced coffees (Freddo Cappuccino is YUM) and huge sandwiches for very cheap! Having a fridge is very useful as you can buy lots of snacks from the supermarket to have during the day, or cook dinner for yourself. Terry's husband and son run both a taxi and car hire business so that was very useful, we got a taxi to Argostoli (capital of Kefalonia) for the day for 60 euro, this is a lovely day trip if you don't want to travel too far, only a 20 min car journey. A bit touristy so can get nice souvenirs and good for a lunch or dinner out. Lovely restaurants, cafes, shops and views. I think there is lots to do in Argostoli but we wanted to get back to sunbathe so didn't do much! Terry sorted this all out for us, we just told her when we wanted to go and she booked for us. The walk down to the beach is a bit crazy! Very steep and through what felt like a jungle! Apparently during season there are shuttle buses, this would definitely be preferable! The beach is lovely and the water is beautiful, there are many bars and restaurants on the beach which i'm sure are lovely when open. If you are looking for a relaxing, stress free holiday, this is the place for you! Or a base from which to travel, it is 25 mins from the airport and 1 hour 20 to the other end of the Island where places like Assos are, so with a hire car this would be perfect to travel around from. We loved our stay here and highly recommend Terry and her apartments. April is a great time to visit if you do not mind everywhere being closed, we were lucky with the weather and it was getting hotter everyday, although chilly in the evening. The bedrooms stay very, very cool, take something warm for the evenings if you visit at this time. Thank you Terry, we hope to see you again! xx The Cranes
