The best of Everything
Reviewed By markushuWe stayed 6 nights with Philippe and Genevieve, at their wonderful oasis of tranquility and relaxation. Just outside of Sainte Anne, it is close enough to be in the center of all the action in 10 minutes, and far enough away to have a peaceful and quiet evening on your terrace. The hot tub and pool were wonderful. Close to all the best beaches on Grande Terre, the most difficult decision was whether to just stay and enjoy the ambiance of the resort or to go exploring. The property at first glance may seem small, but the design is exceptional. While all 5 rooms were occupied, there was never a feeling of being crowded. All the guests were friendly and respectful of each other's space and privacy, while at the same time easy to make friends. We were honored to be their first American guests, and were made to feel welcome and accepted from the moment we arrived . Merci beaucoup!

First time in a gite, would try again
Reviewed By Stephen NThis was our first time staying at a gite which is like a French BNB. This gite was extremely spacious and had everything a family would need if they were to stay just a few days or even a week. There was a master bedroom with AC, an upstairs with 1 larger bed and 2 smaller beds, a kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, large fridge, microwave, stove, oven and washing machine. There's a large patio overlooking the Plage de Figuier beach with a hammock. Drying rack is outside for laundry. Daniel is the owner and he's a very nice fellow. He picked us up from the pier and even held our stuff and brought it to us on our day of departure because our ferry didn't depart until 5PM that day which was helpful. Our booking was easy as was communicating with Daniel on payment and on scheduling our pickup upon arrival at the ferry terminal. There were only a few "negatives" if you want to call them that - the gite is definitely a hike to the center of the village - about a 20 minute walk with a couple hills mixed in so make sure you rent a scooter or golf cart. We didn't have one but should have gotten one in retrospect. Also, you have to bring your own soap to take a bath. This isn't a traditional hotel so soap and shampoo is your own though Daniel does supplying towels for drying. Also, you'll likely spend some time at a beach while on Terre-de-Haut. Beach towels are also on your own so we wound up buying one in town. Lastly, my girlfriend found the bed to be a bit uncomfortable but that's been the case with each place we've stayed at in Guadeloupe while I thought it was the best bed we had during our weeklong trip. We would stay with Daniel at his gite again.

Five spacious red wooden villas, from 150 euros per night for 2. Four of the villas are nestled among the vegetation and one is upstairs with a view of the sea and its sunset. The latter will be better appreciated in the new wooden hut nestled in a mango tree, with a view of the Soufriere. Each villa is designed for everyone's privacy and calm, you can enjoy the swimming pool and its Spa for the Désirable villa and a private Spa for the other four villas. In addition for all, Infinity pool with a Teak terrace to enjoy the sun. Located 15 minutes from Basse Terre and 10 minutes from the village of Vieux Habitants we await you for a peaceful stay in the heart of a lush garden. On the first heights of Vieux-Habitants, fruit trees and tropical flowers accompany you on this land ventilated by the trade winds. Reservation on our site is possible with visibility of availability. Possibility of breakfast. Villas ideally located for exploring Guadeloupe. Car essential.
Paradise like no other - stay here!
Reviewed By benschenkelWe spent two weeks in this gorgeous property, doubling the length of our stay because of the wealth of nearby activities and the incredible treatment we received from the owner Rodrigue. He greeted us with a decadent basket of tropical fruit, French pastries and two jugs of homemade rum punch. The unit had everything you could ask for to make it a comfortable experience, from a mosquito-killing racket to a rainbow-lit jacuzzi. The internet was also much stronger than advertised, which made it possible to telework from this luxury villa. Not only did we greatly enjoy the Infinity pool area, but Rodrigue went out of his way to invite us for a dinner of local delicacies including langoustine. We still cannot believe his level of genuine hospitality. This is a paradise with close access to beautiful beaches and nature hikes, conveniently situated between Bouillante and Basse-Terre. The value for money was exceptional. Definitely make a point to stay here!

Reviewed By bretagnesylvieTrès bel accueil et attentions par les propriétaires. Petit punch pour le soir et le nécessaire sur la terrasse le lendemain matin pour le pdj et des confitures maison. Par contre le gîte mériterait quelques travaux de rafraîchissement notamment dans la cuisine et la sdb un peu datée. Nous n'avons pas du tomber dans le bon gîte compte tenu des commentaires. Par contre les locaux sont très propres et la vue sur la baie des Saintes magnifique. Pour une nuit au retour des Saintes c'est très pratique.

Family cottage comprising 4 bungalows, one for two persons (Sapotille) and 3 duplex bungalows for 4 or 5 people (Mango, Papaya, Coco). The cottage has a situation and an exceptional environment. Surrounded by vegetation, it's an ideal place to relax and enjoy family holidays in peace. 150m from the sea, 15 min walk or 5 min drive from the most beautiful beaches of Guadeloupe (the Salines beach) full of fish and coral, remember your fins, masks and snorkels. For most types, you are 10 minutes walk from the beach Tarare. Local shops and several restaurants are within 2 minutes walk from the cottage. Also not far from civilization, you are 10 minutes drive from the center of St. Francis to do your shopping, go golfing, play casino, enjoy water sports or simply stroll on the marina and go shopping. What a delight

The cottage we stayed (family of 4) was very clean and you could see that it has been newly refurbished with a great taste. Marie and Mathieu were always here to help us (day trip advices, nice and friendly restaurants, where to rent a car, or finding car seats and buggy). The gite atmosphere is very quiet and relaxing (especially when on a long chair by the pool, watching humming birds). The pointe des chateaux as some wonderful beaches and it is at your door step (I will recomend la grande anse des Saline if you like scuba-diving). Merci encore Marie et Mathieu.

At about 10-20 meters from the right edge of the beach, there is a herbarium on a sandy bottom where the turtles feed. Reviewed By Mabu100We had a little bit of problem to find the place in the dark, but when we finally arrived everything was great! Hughes, the owner, welcomed us already in the garden and quickly explained us everything we needed to know. The apartment was very spacious and clean and was equipped with all you need for a relaxed holiday. There's a little pool in the garden and the closest supermarkets are a 5 minute drive away. You can even use the washing machine for free if you stay here for longer. There is always a nice breeze so you don't really need the air conditioning. The views from the balcony are breath taking. One direction you see the mountains with the rain forest, the other direction you can see the sea with all the little boats. Couleur Caraïbes is the right place if you want to explore Basse Terre and even Grand Terre is in easy reach! Hughes is an exceptional host who is always happy to help if you have questions or a problem. We hope we will visit Guadeloupe again and without a doubt we will stay at Couleur Caraïbes if possible!

You will stay in nice Creole houses, in the middle of a luxuriant garden in the colors of the island (palm trees, coconut palms, banana trees, ...and alamandas!). 5 bungalow on the site, more the house of the owners. All the site offers a fantastic view over the Caribbean Sea, whether it is of the terrace of bungalow, in the middle of the swimming pool since which you can admire sunsets

Reviewed By Stella SThis gites are close to Deshaies and the beach of Grand Anse. The couple that rents them is charming and very helpful. Chantal gave us a bottel of rhum upon our arrival. You have a great view and a pool you can use round the clock. There's a lady who does catering. Short: Excellent value for the money
