La Palapa Hotel is a small family business of 7 rooms right on the beach! We just took over again on december 2016 !WE are just in the center of Tamarindo, next to restaurants, chops, banques, Pharmacy and supermarket. You will be 20 steps away from the beach, the sun, the sea! Come and relax at Hotel La Palapa
We learned this hotel was the first in Tamarindo! And although it's far from luxury and large rooms, you have everything you need. But what is priceless: the people (Giovanni & Mario in particular) and the fact that you walk out of your room and the delicious beach is right there! The food at the restaurant is to die for!

Not only is a nice place to stay, the staff was really friendly and you can walk to the beach. They even sent me my shoes back via mail because I left them there. We got a spacious room for three, we had a private bathroom and a fridge.

The translation of Pedacito de Cielo is "Little Piece of Sky." This 300 hectare site situated on the San Carlos River in the San Carlos region is run by Marco Tulio Hidalgo. He is eager to share his little piece of heaven with you. The lodge sits right above the San Carlos River and private bungalows come equipped with a lounging area and a porch overlooking the river. There are two decks that sit high above the Rio San Carlos and offer great views of the river, the setting sun and makes for easy birding. In the evenings, the calls of both the Scarlet and Great Green Macaws are heard, and both are frequently seen. There are gardens, fruit and fruit trees right outside of the individual cabins that attract honeycreepers, orioles, oropendolas and even toucans right to your door. The reserve for the lodge is actually about 2 km from the lodge. At the reserve there are a number of trails that take you through quality rainforest and native species reforestation plantations. There is also a separate lagoon to explore. There are covered decks and trails for you to bird from at the lagoon. The forest hosts hard to find species such as the Dusky Antbird, while the lagoon is home to rare species such as the Rufescent Tiger-Heron. Don Marco can set up a ride to take to you to the reserve, but the birding along the road is great on its own. You are welcome to bird without a guide; however Hugo is the guide available to take you to and through the reserve. Although Hugo does not speak English, he is able to communicate in one form or another, and visitors enjoy his company. In addition to birding and hiking, horseback riding tours and tours of the San Carlos River via kayak are available. Another highlight at Mi Pedacito de Cielo is undoubtedly the delicious cuisine cooked mostly with fruits and vegetables grown right on site. Marco is extremely accommodating and will do just about whatever you need to make your stay enjoyable.
Even though road to access the place is very raw and bumpy! The hotel is very nice and well maintained! Cabins are very typical and electrical heating of the shower are working ! ( worth to mention). Very quite environment, lots of wonderful birds to be seen and the possibility to make a trip along the Rio on a motor boat to observe the nature! People are very welcoming and really at the service of the visitors !

Our family of 2 adults and 1 child stayed at Scarlet Villas (Villa Surf) for several days during Easter. We enjoyed the pool and the little gym which surrounded by colorful flowers and lush jungle. Aaron, the manager is charming and made sure that we had an excellent experience. We loved our stay at Scarlet Villas and highly recommend it to others.

If you are planning your next holidays in Costa Rica you must take some time to go and visit the resort "Casitas Sollevante" in Montezuma. The resort itself is located just minutes away from the lively town of Montezuma, situated in the province of Puntarenas, in the southern Nicoya Peninsula (one of the 4 Blue Zones in the world). Casitas Sollevante is the perfect destination for travelers seeking an enchanting escape for their holidays.
A truly beautiful place to stay with unbeatable views. The hotel itself is incredibly quiet and peaceful, and the casitas are well kept and well equipped. Staff presence is fairly limited, meaning there are periods of time when there is no one there so we were unable to get drinks or order taxis. Be aware the hotel is a 20 min walk up an extremely steep hill from the Montezuma town - cars or taxis are essential (and some nights it's close to impossible to get a taxi back).

Less than 10km away, uvita zone offers supermarket, Waterfalls as pavon, or uvita waterfall, and dream beaches just as ventanas or arco. Also, we are at 20min driving to Nauyaca.
Villas Maria Luisa is a gem. The staff and owner are extremely friendly and we spent multiple nights playing pool & singing karaoke with them. There’s fresh fruit for you to eat, a lovely pool for you to swim in, and a cozy bed to come back to after surfing all evening. The rooms are equipped with a kitchen, which is a huge bonus. I could easily spend a month there. One word— PARADISE ?

I spent 3 nights in the Villas de la Selva. The rooms are spacious and my room had the makings of a kitchen. Great views of the Pacific and each room has a private deck. Beds and bathrooms were very comfortable and air conditioning worked well. Each morning about 10 white faced monkeys played outside on the rooftops and some ventured on my deck. I truly enjoyed the monkeys. Great location. centrally located in Manuel Antonio. Bathrooms was great and although I did not experience the common areas such as the pool, hot tub looked appealing. I thought the place was great for the money and would recommend it.

Vernita was a very nice and attentive host. She helped us with recommendations on where to eat/drink and transportation to and from the property. WiFi was working well, we did not use the pool. The kitchenette was fully equipped, but the rest of the apartment was a bit crowded with furniture/decor.
