When most people think of Norway, the Western Fjords area is what they picture, with its stunningly beautiful deep waterways carved through rugged mountains by ice age glaciers. Several of the world’s tallest waterfalls are here too, adding to the splendor. An incredible region for cruising, hiking, fishing, biking, rafting, canoeing and summer skiing, the region is also home to fascinating cities like Bergen, Stavanger and Alesund, each chock-full of unique and interesting urban activities.

The cabin lies in the hills of Ryfylke just near the Refsvatn lake, a beautiful, child-friendly area. There are several marked trails in the area, for example, the path to the Pulpit Rock. The new Preikestolen Mountain Lodge was opened in May 2009. The old Preikestol cabin was built in 1949 just beside the old Vatne mountain farm. You can also go fishing or swimming in the lake Revsvatnet. There is a lot of activities in the area. We have rental of Canoe, kayak and SUP.
One shower , one toilet per floor ( 9 rooms per floor ) . The room is in another hut and not in the main building as you might think . A room so small that you can hardly move in it . There is no wifi in the rooms !!! The wooden floor in the corridor creaks when people cross and interferes with sleep . The entrance to the room is with the help of a code . When you enter the code , the beep sounds in the rooms And for all this you also pay 150 euros , which is very far from getting value for money . In short - this exploitation of the owner , is the unflattering side of Norway !!!!

Stad hotel has potential and the rooms in the new part are very, very nice. Modern fabrics, styles and colours. Very delicate and fresh bathroom. The location onto the sea is also good. The rooms is the strength of this hotel. We had dinner at the hotel which was a buffet and this was not up to the expected level. If the restaurant improves the food and educates the personnel, this hotel has a potential of becoming a 5 buttons score, but now we left with an average impression. Nice rooms, but too much canteen restaurant.

Situated in Roldal, Odda municipality, by Lake Roldalsvatnet, Hordatun Hotel offers international cuisine in the restaurant year around - and a bar with regular live entertainment during the winter season. All apartments and rooms include a balcony or terrace, and Wi-Fi and parking are free. Hotel Hordatun's rooms (62) and apartments (36) feature tea and coffee making facilities, cable TV access and a seating area with sofa. All apartments and rooms have a fully equipped kitchen. Restaurant guests can enjoy their meals on the lake-view terrace. The bar offers after-ski and is an ideal place for drinks and mingling. Hordatun is just 5 minutes' drive from Roldal Ski Centre (shuttle bus during the winter weekends) - one of the ski centers in Norway with the longest seasons and "the Deepest snow in Europe" open from end of November to the first weekend of May. In Roldal village center 4km away you will find the Roldal Stave Church; one of Norway's 28 Stave Churches still standing. Roldal is a good location for exploring the area; hiking the Pulpit Rock in the Lysefjord, the Trolltunga in Tyssedal, the Hardangervidda, Hardanger and also offers great hiking trails options during the season June - September.
We were driving through Odda and that region. That area is so super touristy (all due to the popularity of Troll tunga) that we kept driving on through. I booked in advance a room at Hordatun Hotel. The online site had made it very interesting. "every room has a view". Indeed this was true. The hotel is convex arc shaped facing the fjord and the mountains. We had room #109 which was sort of in the center on the main floor. One has to exit the hotel lobby to outside, then walk to an exterior door to enter the room. It is a very big room and indeed more like an apartment; kitchen, dining room, living room and bedroom. We also had a balcony and a fantastic view of the mountains. However, due to the curvature of the hotel the "apartment" is very odd shaped. Very narrow at the entry side and widest at the balcony side, like a trapezoid. The flat screen TV did not work at all. The light over the dining room table did not work either. The bedroom was so tiny that there was no room to walk around the sides, basically filled 90% of the floor space. There was a couch that opened to a bed in the middle of the room that was already opened, made up and ready for sleeping. We chose to sleep there. It was so uncomfortable that I got up at 3AM and slept on the couch instead. The main highway runs directly in front of the hotel, so when a semi truck goes by (frequently) it is very loud as they are often engine braking going down the hill into Roldal. We also had dinner here since there is no other restaurant around here. You have to order at the hotel desk/bar and they bring it to you. Very limited menu (4-5 items) but a Norwegian style meal that wasn't too bad but expensive for what was received. We didn't use the kitchen at all because 1. it wasn't very well stocked with needed items and 2. there is no grocery store around to buy any food anyway. When we went to breakfast (included with the room) it was not very good at all. Limited variety of food, cold and hard scrambled eggs (left overs?), sour milk (I asked someone to replace it which they did), coffee was stale and bitter. This hotel is painted all dark brown and orange, reminiscent of the 1970s. They even have a Ford tractor painted all orange. The hotel was very sparsely filled, maybe 15% of the rooms so it was fairly quiet rooms wise. We were lured here by the balcony (though too cold outside to use it) and the view (very nice), but the rest of the experience gives it a low mark. I would not recommend staying here.

An excellent place to stay in the Forde and Gaulerfjellet region. The owners Linda and Rune have done an amazing job fixing up old farm buildings to create a very comfortable bed and breakfast. The surroundings are spectacular and the facility has many open areas for sitting and relaxing while enjoying the scenery. Very impressive how thoughtfully the facility has been decorated and we were impressed with the stone walls and outdoor patios. There are bicycles for use by guest and we greatly enjoyed rides on the road through the valley to view the many waterfalls, lakes and small dairy farms. We have stayed at many B&B's over the years, and this is one of our favorites. Linda, the owner, is very chatty and welcoming and makes it a pleasure to stay here.

The hotel is modern and very nice, easy to find in the centre of town. We came late and they laft a key for us. We had a room at the back were the main entrance is, so nice with an entrance to our room from the outside (and inside of course). That made it easy to unload all our stuff from our motorbikes and had a short way to carry it. And we parked just outside or room where we could see the bikes!! Everything is renovated, it is clean, has a tv, ad the bath room was nice too. We were alone at breakfast rom, that had view over a lake. Ordinary bur good breakfast There is several stores/shops and a lagre parking lot on this side, but they did`n bother us

Appartamenti situati in maniera perfetta e pratica per visitare la città. Le stanze all'interno sono chiuse ma piccine, ma comode e pratiche mentre le zone comuni sono belle, ben attrezzate e molto ampie. Sicuramente consiglaito.

Awesome location near restaurants, grocery store, and bus stop. Apartment was clean and modern. Stayed two nights and would definitely recommend. The apartment room I stayed in had a washer, which came in handy.
