Nice hotel. Very quiet. Only animals (birds, chicken) can be heard. Even the hotel is more or less in the city, no traffick noise. Clean. The only thing I did not like was that hints are placed everywhere, telling you what is forbitten and what you will have to pay if, for example, you destroy a bedsheet or throw toilet paper into the toilet. There is even a list in the room, outlining the costs if you destroy the TV or the fridge. Strange.

We spent one night in a "Garden Villa" chalet. The resort was pretty empty and the staff speak little English and could benefit from some customer care training but otherwise, it really wasn't bad. The pool was huge and well maintained although the surrounding grounds could be better tidied up. The Garden Villa was pretty spotless (ants aside) but staff had forgotten to replenish bathroom supplies. Room had Aircon, TV, fridge and pretty comfy enormous bed. Breakfast was eggs, cold frankfurter type sausage, white slice bread, or Thai soupy stuff. Passable help-yourself coffee. As others have said, this place is in the middle of nowhere so own transport essential. No dining facilities and not much in local town either.

When we arrived via car at this small, very reasonably priced hotel in Sukhothai, the "owner/manager" emerged from reception and asked if I was "Stephen". That's a first because, yes indeed, I was Stephen. He was carrying his baby and it was clear this was a family enterprise. He asked us to fill out our breakfast options and escorted us to our perfectly adequate room. He gave us advice on where and how to get to the big "Loy Krathong" annual festival celebrations about 10 KM from the hotel. Breakfast the next day was simple and charming with warm service from (I'm guessing) the co-owner/wife. The value for money was superb. We'll stay again.

This is a lovely place and was exactly what we wanted. It is a 15 minute walk from Sukhothai Historical Park and they have adult bikes for use too. The room was clean and pleasant and had a large fridge, tv and spacious shower. Breakfast was good for the price; eggs and sausage with some breads/ yoghurts. I would certainly recommend PhiPhu as a place to stay.
