Strung below craggy mountains, the Omani capital of Muscat is one of the Middle East’s oldest and most picturesque cities. Between its corniches and modern quarter are Portuguese-built forts, blue-domed mosques, royal palaces, and souks, all heavy with the sense of a lost Arabia.

We stayed here overnight and it was a comfortable stay. Clean & spacious rooms with all Toiletries and a friendly staff. Room was spacious & clean. Only issue was there was no shelf/space in the Bathroom. There is complimentary Swimming pool & Fitness centre. Food served in the restaurant was very tasty.

This is a great staple for Muscat: clean as a whistle and usually fine. The area around the hotel. however, is something else. Parents sitting at door watching and doing nothing as their little varmints run all over the road, aim their go-karts at passing cars, then banging on the vehicle dare it stop. Expect their Mother - or what passes for an adult - to act? Not on your life. Meanwhile their overindulged brats run amok. It's a shame. It ruins the ambiance of the area and Omanis are normally good at keeping their kids in check.

Grand tourist has a great location, was honestly the best value for money, and the family felt safe during there 14 day stay as part of the layover requirements during flight restrictions. the Pool was very cold, to be honest, and the shisha bar that was on the roof, was closed when we stayed, but there was enough around, and within walking distance for us to make the most of.

We stayed for 2 weeks at Safeer International hotel. The first room I got was full of dead insects in the bathroom and bedroom and window does not open and very dark lighting. I immediately requested changing room and this is the only positive thing I can recall from my stay although should not have happened in the first place. Staff: The staff was unfriendly, no greeting, rude reception calls. No privacy since I didnt have “do not disturb sign”. The receptionist seemed desperate for money kept requesting to pay the amount as if we will run away. Cleaning: housekeeping was the most terrible issue at the hotel. Minimum cleaning, they always forget to replace towels and toiletries. We requested that no one enters the room for cleaning when we are not at the hotel and yet they came back again the next day. Also, not all amenities were available as listed and although we booked same type of room, each room had different available amenities such as iron, washing machine… Food: zero consistency. You can order same plate each day and each day it is different and most of the time did not taste well. As for the breakfast, very cheap, did not taste good and limited options. Out of the 15 nights, I only ate at the buffet twice first 2 days. Not recommended AT ALL. For the price listed for this hotel you can find way better hotels in Muscat and even cheaper.

I travel only 1 day, just need a place to sleep, the room is clean and nice, spacious, did not expect that excellence from that value of money. staffs all are very helpful. Location is close to airport and easy to move to city center. Highly recommend for those who is looking for cheap hotel but worth to stay
