Small and not so comfortable despite great location
Reviewed By julieg768We stayed at the Amano Munich 2-7th June. Pre booking a Roomy room said to be a little larger than the standard. Starting with the positive location great for most city sights or further out by underground. Breakfast was good similar options everyday but plenty of choice - you can ask for some fresh eggs to be made also. However - The rooms are small and really only great if you literally want to sleep and shower. Not much room around the bed to put your case even carry on ones. Luckily ours fitted under the bed itself. There are 2 Bedside cabinets but not actual drawers wardrobes etc. so be prepared to leave most folded or in your case. There is a nicely decorated hotel bar. However not available to us during our stay 1 night closed for a private event the remainder closed every night due to staff issues was the reason. With the usual fizzy water no one really wants in the bedrooms and no tea and coffee facility in room - not great. Can’t grab a nice drink and chill near your bed after a busy day out in the city! Also due to the lack of hanging space I put my nightie on the bathroom door hook. It was removed possibly by the cleaner on our second morning and not returned. Despite reporting that, no one has updated me either way about its whereabouts or offered a formal apology. Emails are not answered either despite being prompted to send a query that way if you have one. In summary Good location but not really a hotel in terms of facilities and treatment / service. More just a set of rooms for rent whilst you visit Munich. Munich it self is great - lovely city and lots to see and do. Great buildings and everyone outside the hotel very helpful especially the ladies in the Marienplatz information centre.

Reviewed By moodyivanLocation is excellent for south east Munich. Very short walk to U-Bahn and only 15 minutes to city center. Plenty of parking in the garage, Supermarket next door. No frills, but very clean. USB socket for charging devices. Extremely friendly and efficient staff, with many languages spoken. And the price can't be be beat in the Munich area.

Excellent food and atmosphere
Reviewed By PeterDesertfoxme and two of my colleagues from Jordan and Egypt had dinner there for five days. The food is amazingly good and service fast. And my two colleagues always found a delicious dish without pork, which is sometimes not so easy. we met a waiter from Lebanon and had some nice conversations with him. And he was always very friendly and helpful, congratulations.

Reviewed By pfefmeisterFirst off, great value for what you get. Nice breakfast buffet, upgraded, comfortable room, attractive bar and meeting area, and a quick 3 blocks from Ostbahnhof train station. It’s maybe 30-45 minutes to Marienplatz walking, but the journey is thru attractive neighborhoods, which we enjoyed, taking different routes each time. If you take the path to the Ferris wheel, there are a number of restaurants in a hip industrial area - you’ll see. Definitely will stay here again.

Not suitable for families

However when we arrived we realized it is extremely basic, service is lite to say the least, and for families it is simply not recommended. It feels a bit like an upscale college dorm, a lot of things are "do you own" , services like cleaning are just once a week, if you ask for anything before the cleaning is done the answer is no, so in the end you are on your own. We stayed one week and I had more headaches then during any other stay. This place is good for young people who stay longer, it is nothing like a serviced residence.

Cheap IKEA furnishings and terrible wifi - AVOID
Reviewed By DUHCARFrankly I would advise you to stay somewhere else. I had prepaid so no choice. The furnishings are falling apart - bedside lamp, no light in the bathroom mirror, only a few TV channels (that didn't match the printout). Curtains ripped so could never really block out the light at night. Looks like they bought everything at IKEA and that stuff does not last in a hotel environment. I even think the chairs were from Café Mocca down the street. - not like the ones in the photos. Wifi was either non-existent or poor and it became a standing joke everyday. Although Google says it is a free breakfast, they wanted E9 each per day. The man at reception really didn't care. In summary, a very cheap room from someone who is trying to get away with

Reviewed By Rajah TRuhiges Hotel in bester Lage und super nettes Personal …was will man mehr? Das Frühstück ist gut. Einziger Kritikpunkt etwas Musik im Frühstücksraum wäre gut. Ideal das man am Hotel auch Parkplätze hat. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Reviewed By 465karolinalOne of the dirtiest hotels i have ever been :( Across the street there is church. Bells starts ringing at 07:00 and continues EVERY 15MINS!!! Because there is no conditioner we slept with open window so it was louder even more because of the bells and trafic :( The only good thing : free parking outside which is good for travellers by car
