STFs northernmost resort, STF Abisko Mountain Station, at the heart of Abisko National Park. Guests from around the world come to experience the Northern Lights, Midnight Sun, hiking and skiing. Accommodation available in hotel, hostel, or cabins. Nearby iconic places: Kungsleden, Lapporten, Aurora Sky Station and Mount Nuolja.
After deferring our trip due to covid, we finally got to Abisko. 2 years after first booking it. We had a chalet which was clean, comfy beds, well appointed and spacious, loved the drying room for wet clothes. (other family members) stayed in the hotel-room was great, too. Arrived to snowfall - Brilliant! Upon arrival we ate sandwiches and fika in the reception area. Wonderful. Went for a trek around the canyon then back for a 3 course meal - the restaurant was beautifully laid out with candles and the food and service worthy of a quality restaurant. We trekked to the ski lift and our guide was so helpful and informative. Sky station was brilliant also, as the Aurora came out. We laid on reindeer skins in the snow to watch them. Had a trek around the mountain too, but was cut short as our guide noticed lynx tracks and suggested we return to base as it was mating season so she didn’t want the lynx disturbed. Breakfast the next day was so full of variety. We only stayed 1 night as we headed off the the ice hotel, but Abisko whilst I’m sure was full, didn’t seem too crowded with people, it was relaxed and everything ran so smoothly. Would return in a heartbeat, everything was perfect.

This hostel was actually a real historical prison located 10min walk from Umeå city center with a room dedicated to the history of the prison. We normally avoid hostel due to shared toilet. But the annex has own toilet and kitchen with cleaning and breakfast included in the price, plus it is a own building in the courtyard so it feels so secluded in a historical environment. As a bonus the price is much lower than hotel with similar family room. High celing, 2 bedrooms with 6 beds suited us perfectly. The annex is accessible as well. The rooms is very clean. Super friendly hosts, would definitely stay here next time we are in Umeå.

The breakfast was delicious and very well sorted. There was everything from different cereals, to fruits, cheese, bread, yoghourt etc. The little house we got (free upgrade :D) was really nice. It had it's own kitchen with a fridge and 2 comfy beds. There wasn't really anything missing. Parking is really easy. It's not within walking distance of any attractions or restaurants but that's not a problem at all. you get to restaurants by car really quick as both, Leksand and Rättvik are very close.

Brilliant food, sensational price/quality ratio of food. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Very good connection to the Internet. Clean rooms, playground for children, large comfortable parking lot. I definitely recommend it

The accomodation was very well equipped, the design was very clever and unique (especially the cooler that was built into the floor) . The bed was very comfortable and you could control the temperature of the hut . The host was super friendly and helpful, he went the extra mile to help me with activities around Jokkmokk and showed me the ice bath which was very close by. The breakfast was amazing, with local bread and jam which I loved

We travelled here in early February and being our first cold holiday were very very uncertain, but what an absolutely amazing experience it was, from the huskies to the lights even the travelling to and from excursions was jaw dropping with the beautiful scenery just an absolute must do. We read previous reviews and just took 2 of everything recommended which was brilliant as one set dried in the room while the other was getting worn, if your ever doubting booking this Don’t, it’s a super chance in my case to become a 50 year old 5 year old? for the 4 days. Room was fine if a little confined but we only used it to wash sleep and dry clothes, meals were hearty with 2/3 choices each meal time trust me you need the hearty food to fuel yourselves, beer was fine not overly priced (2 cans of beer by card translated to £9.20) the waitress, bar lady, excursion guides were all friendly and seemed to enjoy watching the guests have a great experience. The cosy bar area was great in the evening to sit with great people swapping photos and stories of the day. Met some lovely people and had the experience of a lifetime. Thankyou very much to all involved in making this trip fantastic.?

The renovated lodge gets good reviews for its interior design but the location on a flat lot next to electric poles, no breathtaking surroundings, except a snowplower parked in adjacent condo, is surreal. With a third of the time when bad weather grounds you, your only choice is to look inwards. Riksgränsen is the last hamlet before crossing to Norway. The stones of the circular wall might look Gornergrat-ish but the concept sucks, especially at those rates. With all the love I have for Norrland I recommend to pass.

We went here for a kick-off for work, but I also recommend this place for couples, families and small groups. We had a super time in the cute little cottage, which was comfy with a mix of modern and traditional interior. The downstairs had a very nice area with a fireplace, lots of candles and cosy sitting area. Upstairs there were bedrooms and also a very relaxing hammock hanging from the ceiling. The whole cottage has lots of nice decorations and the host hade put out little vases with fresh twigs and flowers. We sun-bathed on the sun deck by the the water (a short walk from the cottage) and our hosts fired up the sauna by the lake for us in the evening. We took several dips in the lake. Just outside the sauna there's a nice fireplace where we hung out, roasting marshmallows and looking at the sunset and later the starry skies. One night we made our own dinner in the cabin kitchen, and the next day Pia and Henry made a 3-course dinner just for us in the mini-restaurant/kitchen. The dinner was awsome! Pia and Henry were super nice hosts and really made an effort to make us feel welcome and looked after. Our phones and internet did not work, which is part of the charm of the place. This might be a bit of a chock for some, but for us it was a nice break. Pia did offer us the option of wi-fi, though.
