The hotel was great! Comfy bed, big room and great breakfast. However, I had 3 interactions with the front desk and all were not up to standard. The first was when I arrived and I was told breakfast was not included and when I asked again, the receptionist was simply not pleasant and with little patience. The 2nd was when I asked for extra towels as I needed them for my morning workout, they never came. The last took the cake. I was checking out and the receptionist gave me a pen from a bowl of pens, asking me to sign the credit card receipt. I did as was told and put back the pen. She looked at me, removed the pen said that’s perfect, now I have to sanitize all the pens! Completely rude and uncalled for!

The staff was nice. We got there a little later than planned. The lady showed us to use the fancy room key. We had a room at the front of the building, so there was noise from the traffic. The bed was comfy, bathroom roomy. Had a TV, linens, and soap. Breakfast the next morning was yummy. Check out was easy.

I've been delaying this review because I hate writing bad reviews, but what can you do.... We stayed here for 3 nights with our dog in October 2021. The location of the hotel is beautiful, it sits in the middle of wine yard so you get nice views and there is good walking trails all around. Rooms are smallish, but not too small, nice beds and minibar. Rooms are kept extremely clean. Breakfast selection is excellent with lots of local delicacies and the staff at breakfast room are fabolous! Which gets us to the not so good parts. Apart from the check-in and the staff at breakfast, the sercice is the problem of this hotel, especially if you don't speak german. On our last night, it was pouring down and we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant (it is rather long walk to the old town where most of the Volkach restaurants are). We go to the restaurant and no, you cannot eat here, you have no reservation and we have party of xx persons. The restaurant was empty at that moment, so we tried to suggest that we are fast eaters, we can get out quickly. No, that was not an option, neither was room service ("No, we don't do that"). No help at all, just cold no to everything, no help or suggestions what we should to etc. So, we took drinks at the bar and tried to think what to do. In the end, we ended up walking to nearest supermarket in the pouring rain to get us something to eat. Not good guys. Next morning, we were checking out, I gave our room number, told them what we had used from minibar (1 beer). I paid and as I walked out, I started to think that wait a minute, didn't we pay this hotel in advance (we had 4 hotel reservations on this trip and I did not remember, this was my bad). At the car, I checked and yes, I had paid this hotel in September. So, back to the reception, same clerk as before, told him that we already paid and showed him the document. With out a word, he just works on the terminal and then gives me the recipe, "It's cancelled". Apparently their system does not show that you have already paid, or he just didn't care....but anyway, no apology, no nothing, unbelievable. Oh, and I ended up paying that 1 beer from minibar with cash, and even that I had to ask him (how about the beer?). In the big picture, small things, but they really can (and in our case, it did) make you feel bad about the hotel.

B&B Hotel in Bayreuth is a simple, moderately priced hotel in the heart of Bayreuth. The hotel looks quite new and is quite clean. The covid-19 restrictions were taken very seriously. Unfortunately, this meant that they couldn't offer breakfast or open a common area. Our room was rather small, but sufficient. It had a TV, wardrobe, air-conditioning and soap in the bathroom. Towels were clean and changed regularly, even when not specifically asking for it. The people in the reception were friendly at all times, same holds for the cleaning staff. In the reception you will find vending machines for coffee and cold drinks. A supermarket, bakeries and restaurants of any sort can be found just around the corner. Parking is possible in a nearby garage (2-3 mins walking) at 7 euros per day. I can recommend B&B Hotel Bayreuth since it is located centrally at moderate cost and offers most things that one would expect.

Superb service, v friendly staff and cleanliness off the scale. Food in the restaurant local cuisine but with a gastronomic twist, I sampled the steak tartare and ragout of venison (not on the same night). Local wines chosen by the owner.

This hotel was just about perfect. Friendly staff, sparklingly clean room, comfortable bed. I need total sensory deprivation when I go to sleep so I really appreciated the metal blinds that completely blackened the room. If I were looking for something to niggle about in the room, it would be that the shower buttons weren’t quite intuitive and I kept pressing the wrong ones and getting water from above when I wanted the sprayer and vice versa... but maybe I was just too tired. Also, the bathroom floor got pretty wet while I was showering, but I’m really being picky here. The breakfast was great. I LOVED the big glasses they give you for drinks: most hotels only give you shot glasses so you’re running back for a refill every five minutes. Only tiny criticism here would be that the plates didn’t look like they had been washed carefully enough and the salt shaker was dirty (and I was at breakfast before it officially opened, so that must have been from the day before). But otherwise everything was excellent. I travel a lot and this was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. It’s not fancy but the overall quality was so high that it outperforms more expensive hotels where I’m often annoyed that despite the high rates the walls are thin, the curtains let in light, the bathroom isn’t clean etc.

A perfect gem, set in a lovely historical location across from the castle, easily walkable to a great selection of restaurants. The Hummels are superb hosts; the rooms are beautifully designed, comfortable, and immaculate, and the breakfasts are delicious and topped off with lovely home-made preserves and marmalades. I strongly recommend for a lovely experience.

The place is really nice designed in order to offer all the needs for a workshop or seminar. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with great bed and also a heated floor. The bathroom is very modern and also with heated floor. Great options for the breakfast also! Highly recommended!
