Writers and poets have long flourished in arts-oriented Cuenca, the country's third-largest city and the capital of the Azuay province. Cafes and galleries are tucked among the narrow cobblestone streets. The main plaza hosts both the old cathedral, started in 1557, the year the city was founded, and the blue-domed Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, dating to 1885. Locally made Panama hats get top billing at the markets, with centrally located Casa de la Mujer a shopping standout.

Attention in the front desk really good. The rooms were nice but not the best for the price. The carpet all around the building looks a bit dirty. Besides that the ceiling had some leak. But the most annoying thing is the personal that didn’t wear face mask (in COVID pandemic) even though they prepare the drinks.

Really thrilled to have found this little gem of a hotel. Whoever is responsible for the decor deserves accolades. From first entering the lobby, to the common areas, and the rooms, the place is really lovely. Interesting and unusual design features abound. Everything is also spotlessly clean. Each staff member is responsive, courteous and well spoken. This truly does have the potential to become an internationally rated hotel. All the components are there. My guess would be that none of the staff have actually experienced a top class hotel and, I think they would benefit from that exposure. Maybe watch the show - The Night Manager! We had a few little glitches, delays in service etc. Nothing terrible but also nothing that should happen at a ‘top’ establishment. We had a suite and, unusually, it did not have any sitting options. There was one chair by a desk/table and a hard bench at the end of the bed. We’d have liked a couple of chairs or small couch so that we could sit and relax inside. The restaurant was also excellent - wonderful food, good wines and unbeatable views. We definitely will return,

Rosamia has a great location in the heart of downtown Cuenca. The hotel itself is very well kept. Staff is helpful, though not overly friendly. Their approach is very professional. The rooms were clean, though I was greeted by a couple hairs on the bed. If you value silence and privacy though, expect the opposite. Rooms are not sound proof and it was not uncommon to hear loud snores and conversations coming from the room across the corridor. The breakfast set up is practically adjacent to the lobby. Service was prompt and everything was tasty. Wifi service was generally reliable.. I would recommend Rosamia because it was decent value for money and good overall service and presentation,.
