It is laid out around one of the most inviting swimming pools to be found in Laos, and offers stunning views of the surrounding lush landscapes and forest-clad limestone mountains. Very high-quality service from the welcoming day until the checkout! Nice restaurant and good breakfast with a stunning view of the landscape specifically the sunset. Perfect chill out in the pool with this view. The room is charming with a very comfortable bed. Highly recommended as always. We will come back again for sure.

Sanctuary is a beautiful hotel with a peaceful atmosphere and an amazing view on the lake. Nice activities like kayak, jet ski and swimming pool. We want to THANKS the manager, Alex !!! He was very warm, professional, helpful and patient to answer all my questions and satisfy all my requests before and during our trip. Plus, I had a surprise and received a gift for my birthday from the hotel. It made my day and my trip even more special! Thank you!!! The food was good and we ordered from the restaurant to eat in the terrace of our room. My advice : stay two nights minimum! One night was too short, we wish we could stay longer. We will definitely come back. Thank you for the experience!

Only 1.2 km from the Nam Song River and 2 km from downtown Vangvieng - tranquility is guaranteed. Bearlin Bungalow is completely newly built. Surrounded by breathtaking limestone hills and with direct views of the Pha Deng Mountain. Bearlin Bungalow offers six actractive bungalows and a restaurant catering fine food. The air conditioned rooms come with seating area, a balcony and private bathroom.
A very quiet and friendly place with such nice hosts. This cosy place is a little outside of town but still you can walk there. There is a pool, a little restaurant (even with some typically german dishes) and the perfect german speaking hosts can organize almost everything for you. When we arrived with the minibus from Luang Prabang we just send them a whatsapp and they picked us up in town. The breakfast is great too;) The bungalows are spacious, clean and equiped with everything you need. All in all: Just great!

We stay for a family trip during the week. The resort was newly renovated and had just opened up very recently. We got one of the villas overlooking the rice paddies and mountains. The rooms are nicely decorated with brand new bath rooms. Though not the biggest room, it was very functional. Traditional wooden stilted houses with a lovely balcony area to really soak in the fresh air and enjoy some sundowners. The resort also provided in room breakfast with a good variety of Lao and western food that are ordered the day before and brought to the room. We also ate one dinner that the lovely staff had set up in the rice paddy together with an open wood fire. The food was great though a rather limited menu. But definitely good value for money and serving size on the large end of the scale. Unfortunately, other than a stunning view, there aren't a whole lot of facilities. Although a nice experience, the price doesn't really make it a good deal.

It’s surprising what you get for a couple of $$ more. Excellent hotel, great manager and staff, sooo clean. Pool fantastic - spent about 3 hours in here every day and had the whole pool pretty much to ourselves, room perfect, good breakfast - would be hard to find fault. Stayed 4 nights, could have easily stayed for longer. 10 minute walk to town. Superb! Thanks guys, my daughters favorite so far on our 3 month trek.

I live in Vientiane, and drove up to Vang Vieng in mid-April 2021 at PiMai (New Year) to spend a few days relaxing. Because of the pandemic, the normally very busy town had no foreign tourists, just other local people visiting, so hotel and guesthouse occupancy was very low. Walk-in prices were much lower than booking online. The hotel has a car park area in the front. I paid $25 a night (no breakfast) at Vansana; this was the first time that I had stayed there. Since it seemed almost no one else was staying there, staffing was minimal - housekeeping, one doorman, and one desk manager. But other than needing assistance with changing a couple of light bulbs, and putting new batteries in the remotes for TV and AC, everything was fine. The hotel location is excellent, on the river near the center of town, shopping area and restaurants. The hotel sits on the river, has excellent views, and has a very nice pool (I was the only one sitting at the pool the 4 days I was there). The room was large with a balcony, had a good TV and AC, frig, safe, comfortable beds, the WiFi worked well, the bathroom was nice with an enclosed shower and fluffy towels. There is a hot water pot, and coffee and tea are provided. I could not have asked for more.

We book this property beginning november 2020. The idea was to come to the Vangvieng festival 2020 on the 18-19 Dec and needed a family room for 6 people. The owner cancel our booking on Agoda pretending renovation of the hotel !!! We found the property on Booking.com but with 1 000 000 Kip more in the price! What a joke. Avoid this resort absolutely.

This was probably the worst hotel experience we've ever had. It took us more than an hour to find, as it is 20 minutes out of town on a busy, dusty road, there is no sign and the Google maps location is not accurate. We were stranded with our luggage in the dark, trucks thundering past and no hotel. We called and called the number on booking.com, no answer. We eventually found it with the help of some kind passers by who spoke Lao - it was locked up behind some ramshackle metal gates with a big 'for sale' sign in Chinese... We literally had to shout over the gate until someone came out and turned on the lights and let us in! The only people there did their best but spoke zero English. A sign in the room said we had to communicate with the hotel via their Facebook page - we did eventually get through to the owner via WhatsApp, but she was in Bangkok and didn't give a rat's ass that we had been stranded for over an hour in the dark. The rooms were fine but so, so noisy - there is a railway line being built along the road outside and the trucks just trundle past all night long. We changed to a room further away but it was still impossible to sleep. Breakfast was literally a piece of bread and some scrambled eggs and a banana. No milk for tea or (instant) coffee. It was a hostel breakfast at boutique prices. The view from the breakfast area was beautiful but the trucks still roared past and there was a massive wasps nest nearby so we beat a quick retreat. While we were eating, the hotel's cat came up to us - it had a horrible eye infection and was clearly in a lot of pain. The owner really needs to do something about the poor creature. What really topped it off was that when we contacted booking.com, they told us we couldn't complain or even leave a review because they had a 'special contract' with the owner that prevented us from doing this! Which explains why mine is the first review in months. This place was probably nice enough before the road became busy. Clearly, the owner has realised that it is no longer a viable business and is selling up, but has left it in the care of the cleaners so she can squeeze as much money out of it as possible while it's on the market. So, so dodgy.

Villa Nam Song Hotel is the 1st hotel to operate in Vang Vieng, Laos. A charming hotel in Vang Vieng located near the Nam Song River and the beautiful lime stone mountains with great hotel gardens. A 3 hour drive from Vientiane, or a 6 hour drive from Luang Prabang. It is the ideal place for a stopover on the road to Luang Prabang, or for getaway week-ends.
Laos was still closed from COVID during my visit (early April, 2021) and there were few westerners. The only visitors in Vang Vieng are Lao nationals and foreigners working in-country, so holiday tourism is primarily on weekends. Vang Vieng is mostly empty, especially weekdays. That meant discount prices on hotels . If you go now, don't book online! Just go to hotels and ask the price, it is generally much less than the online price. The Villa Nam Som is at the end of Walking Street at the river, and sits at a lovely spot with great views, with the Veranda Restaurant overhanging the river. I can't agree with the negative complaints in other reviews. My room was really large, clean, with a king bed, a safe, a frig, coffee maker, desk, and an excellent bathroom with a very good hot shower. Good wifi. The garden is lovely. It is only a few minutes walk to the very center of town. However, the TV had only CNN as an english channel. There is no pool, so the room price is lower than comparable places. Two complaints - First, the small road down to the hotel also goes to a boat landing; it is unpaved, and a lot of dust is kicked up by the vehicles coming and going. The section of road down to the Villa should be paved. Second - Saturday nite, one of the joints directly across the river plays ear-splitting obnoxious music until 11 pm (this is actually illegal, but seemingly impossible to enforce).
