We stayed here for 2 nights in the family room which was comfortable and cosy. One could see the snow laden mountains from the window on one side and lidder river on the other. Meals were provided and food was homely. The garden was super pretty. A big shoutout to the owner Mr Ibrahim who is friendly and ever-smiling. Personally, I feel the price of the rooms could be cheaper as the lodge is far from the main market. In general, Pahalgam taxi drivers try to fleece tourists which is quite annoying. An advice would be to go to Pahalgam from Srinagar on a prepaid taxi and not hire a taxi for the entire trip. Only local taxis are allowed in Pahalgam, so the other taxi is an absolute waste. Unfortunately, taxi drivers aren't helpful. I am hoping no one gets a rude taxi driver like we did. That was a big letdown of our trip.

The booking experience was quite smooth but it did take some time to check in, probably because of lot of people checking in/ out at the same time. The room was big, clean and comfortable; the best part was the bed which had inbuilt heating coils which helped us immensely as we were there in December when it was snowing outside, but at the same time the room being quite big it was not getting uniformly heated. The usp of this hotel is the food, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, the spread and the quality of the buffet was just amazing. During check out even after multiple calls when nobody arrived to carry the luggage we left ourselves and on the way realised our bottles were still at the hotel kitchen for filling. Quite a few hiccups which the management should look into still it is a very good hotel.

We had planned for visit to Maa Vaishno Devi and this time my family decided to move towards Kashmir. We planned Kashmir trip post Vaishnodevi darshan As the trip was not planned in advance so we decided to use a reference for travel. We booked our tour through *UT Kashmir* In Srinagar. The package was for 5 nights stay distributed in pahalgam and srinagar. As we had kid and mom, we decided to stay a night at pahalgam and rest at srinagar. The road travel from jammu to srinagar was not so conducive as it was very hot and roads are still under construction. Though the two new tunnels of 9 km and 8 km has reduced the distance to srinagar by 50 km but still we got stuck at multiple locations like panthal ramban etc. Which is unavoidable. So though the Google showed travel time from jammu to srinagar 5-6 hours it took us around 9-10 hours due to jam. So this is the actual time still one should expect Suggest always hire an AC cab in summer season especially travelling from Jammu to srinagar and within srinagar..both the cities are really hot during day time. We had a bit tough conditions due to Non AC cab. After reaching pahalgam we stayed in hotel Himalayan Hill Resorts which is located on the banks of lidder river. Location and rooms were beautiful. We had a walk in morning which was fabulous on the banks of lidder river. We had our own cab which was from jammu but for local travel it is mandatory to use local cabs only in pahalgam So we booked a cab costing around 4k for whole day as there are multiple points in pahalgam to visit by cab and it takes minimum 10 hours to visit. Though cab guys will say it is for 4-5 hours tour but it takes much time due to jam etc in peak season We started our day by visiting chandanwadi beautiful place, starting point of Amarnath yatra which starts later in June. So always visit either before or afte the yatra is over. That place is not possible to visit during yatra time. There we had glacier also and kids enjoyed skiying etc Next was betab valley again beautiful by pony ride. It is a bit of adventurous ride. Costing is per points visit basis. There are 5-6 points and after negotiation it comes around 2-2.5k per ride. Then we moved towards Aaru Valley ..this valley is just ok compare to others. Here on exam enjoy para gliding etc. There are many more places to visit in pahalgam which we found extremely beautiful and must recommend to stay minimum for 3 nights at pahalgam to have places like baisaron, Samantha top, local sights mini Switzerland etc as each of them requires a full day. After that we moved to srinagar and had a city tour. Start Citi tour with Shankaracharya temple else one will face lot of Jam due to visitors in later day. Still we are on tour and today we have moved to Sonmarg. Will update the rest of the tour places in seperate review. Hope it will help you in planning the Kashmir In the evening we moved forward to srinagar

This was our first visit to Pahalgam and the experience has been amazing. We always wanted a good hotel at fair prices and River View Resort was the best chosen for us. As per its name, its location is the best in its town. The view of the river, especially in the dawn, is marvellous; cannot be explained in words. And the sound of river water in silence create its own music. In fact, their amenities and food are also great. We thoroughly enjoyed. I happily recommend this property if you are planning your trip to Pahalgam.
