If you’re looking for a Robinson Crusoe experience, you can still find that thatched-hut-on-the-beach vibe in the North Malé Atoll. But this chain of 50 or so palm-shaded islands in the Maldives has been stepping up its game lately with sleek, stylish accommodations. These days, even the islands themselves are designer. The newly opened Patina Maldives and Ritz Carlton Maldives sit on an archipelago that construction crews built in the Indian Ocean. Divers love North Malé Atoll for spots like Manta Point, where manta rays congregate so they can be “cleaned” by small fish. You can even snorkel with curious hawksbill turtles. North of the capital city of Malé are some prime surf spots.

Absolutely unforgettable experience at this property. We were warmly greeted on arrival by the hotel management team and our Mr Friday Bobo who made our stay care free, personalised and very enjoyable. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to escape from reality.

Imagine an island right in the middle of the Indian Ocean, with bright white beaches, a lagoon with multiple hues of blue and aquamarine and tall coconut palms swaying to the breeze. Who wouldn't want to be marooned on one? All the more, when all modern comforts and formal professional services that one would expect on a five star hotel come together with it.

A lush, tropical island set in the shimmering waters of a shallow lagoon, ringed by a reef vibrant with marine life. Stay in elegance in Villas created from timber and sandstone, poised and peaceful over a translucent lagoon, or nestled discreetly among exotic blooms by the beach. Revel in romantic privacy on the perfect vacation. The essence of the Maldives, defined at Baros.
Another superb visit to this phenomenal island. We last visited Baros in 2019 and this is our first return since the end of the pandemic. As soon as we arrived it felt like home - familiar, friendly and just a luxurious experience. The island experience is made by the incredible staff. We would particularly like to thank the restaurant staff who looked after us throughout including Afa who is the funniest and loveliest lady, Idya and Ahmed. The food was of a very high standard but it is the service that makes it so great - their precision and anticipation of our needs is what makes this such a luxury experience. The same can be said of the lighthouse bar and the Sails bar where Madhu exceeds in everything he does. Greeting you with a friendly face and welcome and ably helped by Kopila and Gustia, it’s such a pleasurable experience. The house reef is the star of the island - guided by the brilliant Manan who took us on some brilliant tours of the reef and other nearby reefs. We saw, turtles, and sharks and sting rays - all incredibly photographed by us and by manan who sends you a link to download all the pictures. Our villa host Vishan couldn’t be more helpful and was a credit to the island as was the inimitable Hardy. To the island General Manager, ibrahim Shijah, you have done a brilliant job in building this culture amongst your staff and making the island a wonderful experience every time we come. We are already looking forward to next year!

OBLU SELECT Sangeli is a Premium All-Inclusive resort in North Malé Atoll, in The Maldives. Positioning itself as a 5-Star Resort and a unique All-Inclusive Plan - The Serenity Plan - offering sumptuous cuisine, including fine-dining options. Along with an array of activities, sports, and unlimited beverages and a range of contemporary accommodation from 6-categories.
Fantastic and friendly service from the time you arrive at the airport until they drop you off for your departure. Easy boat transfer. The location was exceptional. The house reef as some of the best snorkeling we have done anywhere in the world. Food was great with a lot of variety. Definitely try all the Indian dishes. Just Grill the specialty restaurant was very nice. Unfortunately they no longer have the vegetarian restaurant and the menu at Just Wok the other specialty restaurant was uninspired and not much different from the buffet restaurant. Can’t emphasize enough how friendly the staff was and the exceptional level of their service. It was a very long trip from the US but this place made it worth the trip.

If the Maldives are the pearls of the Indian Ocean, Four Seasons Resort Kuda Huraa is one of its rarest gems: a perfectly rounded incarnation that is true to itself and its setting; prizes outstanding service above short-lived gimmicks; and embraces each guest’s stay with an almost familial devotion. A strong marine theme runs throughout all the activities and facilities: surfing, diving, turtle and coral conservation, SUP yoga and The Island Spa’s Healing Waters treatment menu to name a few. Arguably more important, both word and deed are aligned when it comes to the ocean: a commitment that includes taking solid steps to preserve its surrounding marvels and operating as honesty and ethically as possible. A fragrant island that enchants all who visit, Kuda Huraa is a surf haven, a safe family sanctuary, a romantic retreat, and a place where visitors return year after year seduced by its indescribable magic.
An ideal resort to have a family holiday, great service, customer care from arrival to departure, positive and joyful vibe, attentive and caring service, excellent food quality, perfect for families due to the proximity to Male, only 20 minutes by speed boat and excellent kids club with friendly and professional team. It was not the first time and every experience at Kuda Huraa is unique and stays in the heart

Not wishing to rest on the laurels of our existing achievements, Bandos Maldives had in the past year undertaken a major refurbishment project with the intention of transforming ourselves into a hotel that is truly reflective of the times. Careful consideration however, was given at all times to ensure that the old-world refinement for which the island has a reputation remained uncompromised. Under the project, major facelifts have been given to the front desk, lobby areas, shops, restaurants and bars and have furthermore commissioned a new swimming pool and additional accommodation facilities all of which perfectly blend with the island's tropical splendour and give visitors a taste of the Maldivian aesthetic.
The Bandos resort looks like a 4 start resort based on its lovely brochures and traffic web images. The reality of the resort is far less than you expect at that price or for a 4 star resort. I will start with the good, the rooms are well apportioned, excellent air conditioning, basic rooms have good space. The beds are comfortable. But for people working in the hospitality industry, this is a shockingly inhospitable place. check in is only 2 PM, most flights arrive in the AM. The boats take you from the airport in Male (MLE) to the island and then you wait till 2. No early check in. No courtesy suites set aside to let you shower or rest after 2 days journey. Staff have memorized the check in and checkout times and that is all. The "lounge: they offer is a room with couches and a locker room like shower facility. No privacy and service at check in was painful. The food is buffet style for the all inclusive. Limited selection of alcohol wine and beer unless you are willing too pay extra. At Bandos, everything is an extra charge. The spa facility charges $120 for a massage or $60 for a manicure. The prices are not commensurate with being in a country where that would be a monthly wage. Back to the food. most of it is over cooked and unimaginative. It was awful, except for the fresh fruit, and salads. The island is so isolated so once there you are stuck. Wifi service is unreliable at best. Each night features a different entertainment, Karaoke, or a live local band (playing AC/DC and Bon Jovi .. badly) at ear busting decibel levels. Dont bother asking fo any kind of accommodation. the answer is always no. In sum, for the money you will spend at Bandos find somewhere else .. it is definitely not worth the money and service was pretty awful.

Experience paradise on earth at Grand Park Kodhipparu, Maldives. A luxurious one-island-one-resort destination featuring a collection of 120 idyllic beach-front pool villas and breathtaking overwater villas. The resort offers three restaurants including a fine dining restaurant, infinity pool bar and themed dinner experiences. Dedicated diving centre, beach club and a renowned spa is available.
Everything was amazing. Starting at airport until we arrived resort. We booked 2 nights at beach villa with private swimming pool, and it was very comfortable and cozy. After that, we moved to Ocean villa with swimming pool, the privacy and the sound of the ocean was fantastic and relaxing. I have one thing about food, in breakfast and dinner the food is over cooked. Even fish was like chicken because over cooked. Over all, Island not big you can walk over in 15 minutes. My advice to the owner, you can improve the resort with all the supply the guests need.
