Room has no hooks to hang your wet towels. Bed has an odour. Breakfast is crap except for the porridge, I dont know what jack I'm eating. The front desk ladies have very poor experience, takes a billion years per guest and they did not follow the queue to serve guests. Toilet sink has a beautiful design but does not work nor have Basic handwash soap. One of the wooorrrrssssttttt places I have ever visited in Taiwan. Close it down really.

Nestled away amidst peaceful nature surroundings, The Great Roots Forestry Spa Resort is your Taiwanese hideaway. Located in Sanxia Dist, New Taipei City, only 50 minutes from Taoyuan International Airport and also Taipei City. Our resort covers a 17-hectare site that was formerly the biggest tea-processing plant in Taiwan during the Japanese colonial period. The resort is tucked among the only low-elevation primitive tropical rainforest in Taiwan. These entire rare natural wonders wait along with the healthy and relaxing essences of the forest at the resort. In addition to enjoying the natural scenery, visitors can take a soothing and skin-pampering soak in the carbonic hot springs. Relax at the hotspring spa area, which overlooks the beautiful forests of Sanxia. The stunning natural setting contributes to an unrivaled relaxation experience. It is a place where you see the the world a little bit differently.
Hidden above Sanxia, this was a surprise gem that had beautiful views of the region and surprisingly strenuous trails. The first trail has mostly stone and/or concrete slabs to walk on with some railings. The second trail has dirt paths flattened by climbers and rocks to keep you from sliding as well as ropes to climb up and down. The third trail was partially blocked off so we couldn't climb it but it looked similar in terms of flattened dirt paths with rocks and ropes for climbing. The hot springs are relaxing pools with different temperatures and one has different types of massage jets.

因為這間溫泉會館提供了零元住宿給金山區的民眾使用,所以我們就訂了3間房間。其中兩間房間的浴室其實算是一間湯屋,住起來相當舒適。

Superb for kids! The play area is like none other we have ever seen before. Even if every day was rainy it really wouldn't matter as the indoor play area has everything! Massive soft play with ball pools, slides, tunnels etc. Also loads of arcade games and bean bags to chill on with a nintendo switch to play. Outdoors they also have archery and some other more traditional activities. Hotel itself is of a high quality with pristine suites and excellent customer service. The restaurant also served superb food. Only let down for me (knocked one star off) was the breakfast as they didn't have many western options and they went massively overboard with the rules regarding covid. Highly recommended!

We stayed here for two nights. There are two buildings and we stayed in the Japanese Wing. Both wings are similar size in terms of their building height. Our first room ended up having no WiFi , so we ended up changing rooms. Our second room was larger but in a lower floor (3rd floor as opposed to 5th). This second room was large enough to fit two double beds. There was enough space for seats and coffee table; TV and cabinet; and sufficient wardrobe space. Generally the rooms had a dated feel to them. There is a balcony looks over the hotel gardens and to the mountains. Although we were not on a high floor, we still had a really nice view. The balcony also houses the onsen bathtub, which is the feature of this room, so you can have a relaxing bath outside. There is another door connecting the tub to the separate shower area and toilet and sink. Towels and the provided toiletries were basic but sufficient. Toothbrushes and similar items were available on request rather than already placed in the room. The hotel caters for children in that there is a kids playroom at the main wing. It’s a fairly big room with climbing and slide facilities, which kept the children entertained enough. The pool and spa complex was of decent size. The outdoor water slides were open for use if you wanted to play in them, which we did and it was fairly cold in the winter air. There are outdoor and indoor spa pools of varying functions all for use as well, which were relaxing. There is also a public onsen for nude bathing, but we didn’t use. The gym looked quite small in relative terms; the basketball court was empty and a bit dilapidated; so as their small farm. They advertised a mini golf course but I couldn’t see it within the grounds. So generally the leisure facilities were not that great. Breakfast was in the other wing so a three minute walk from our building. It was a buffet type with an adequate range of local and international foods and drinks. No particular dish stood out. The restaurant itself was clean. We also tried another restaurant in the hotel. This one had a different decor to it than the breakfasting restaurant. We ordered a la carte, where prices and food were ok. The hotel is a little on the remote side so you’ll either have to take a taxi, bus or shuttle car to get to places. Overall a comfortable enough stay was had. However, it is not five star as they claim. Generally the hotel is showing its age and staffing could be a lot better for the rating they have.

The Hotel / resort do not have any lift so those with heavy luggage may seek help from the hotel staff to carry the luggage for you. We had the family quad room. It has a great view of the mountains and Wulai old street. Air is fresh and breakfast is reasonable good. Big Onsen bath tub for 2 or 3 people. With a separate small tub for cold Onsen. However, the hotel need to improve their cleanliness. Found many strands of hair in the Onsen bath tub, beds and floor. Maybe some upgrade or renovation If the rooms will be great as condition of the room and facility is old. Maybe due to the wet and humid condition of the ambient condition. Bedsheet has stain. Have to ask the staff to change the bedsheet upon checked in. Toilet is as big as the room which means the room is rather small. The Onsen water is powerful and filled up the bath tub rather fast. Luggage have to be placed in the toilet. WiFi is not working. Hot water shower is not consistence. The water temp will fluctuate from cold to hot and hot to cold. Staff are rather friendly and help. Hotel provide transport service from Hotel to Wulai old street, Wulai water fall and Nai Dong with a fee. I would say the hotel is reasonably rated.

As usual, have to take a train down south to Xindian station and take bus 1072 up to Wulai old street. It was drizzling lightly when we alighted from the bus after 45 mins, but we took a slow stroll and enjoyed the food along the street. At the end of the street, we crossed the small bridge and around at the 'base' whereby the receptionist will call our host and the host will drive down to pick us up to the hotel. Checked in around 4pm though they said after 6pm; our room was in the block next to the hotel. It is a new building, they expanded and the new rooms come with two tubs. One for Hot water and one for cold water; so we can alternate between both and maximise it to our benefits! Didn't like that the aircon's light kept blinking the whole night. We slept well, since we utilised the hot spring bath twice :) Bfast was at the 3rd floor restaurant, buffet style and they served western eggs, ham, sausages as well as some local dishes with porridge. Enjoyed the view overlooking the mountains and we sat outdoors to enjoy the cool weather! My second time here and I will definitely come again!

Went years ago and they had a front gate with a rude lady which soured the whole thing. This summer I went and gate along with rude lady are gone. Indoor pool upgraded with more jets than imaginable. The beach was nice as usual and the rooms quite nice.. Bit pricey but with a discount well worth it.

Situated in Wulai, New Taipei City and bordered with Fushan, Neidong Forest Park and Lansheng Bridge,Volando Urai Spring & Resort occupies the most privileged spot in the beautiful landscape of Wulai. The elegantly decorated rooms, hot spring, aromatherapy spa and restaurant sat the resort reach such high standards that in 2013, Volando was awarded the membership of REALIS&CHATEAUX and became one of the only two holiday resorts in Taiwan which are accredited by the association. Using its exquisite natural surroundings as the stage, series of arts and cultural events are planned in the Hotel. The relaxing ambience, the devoted service and the unique art exhibitions and performances undoubtedly makes Volando your first choice of accommodation in Wulai.
We did the research before booking, and we received the warmest welcome and service possible. The hotel located 15 mins away from the Wulai old street by walk. The price included 5 meals, which compared with other thermal resorts in Taipei was very competitive! All meals were well-prepared. The room was big, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. We enjoyed particularly the huge onsen bathtub we had in the room. The public onsen was also very well cleaned and designed. All the staff were helpful and professional. We would love to recommend Volando to anyone who is looking for a high quality thermal experience.

Our 3 y-o daughter and us enjoyed the outside spa open until midnight with the different hot & cold baths. Restaurant food not very good (for our Western standards), and difficult to communicate as restaurant staff did not speak English. Room building and spa installation becoming old. Recommend to go there for the spa not for the hotel or restaurant.
