The heart of Casa del Mar's (Spanish for ‘Home by the sea’) philosophy is to create unique experiences around individual guests, providing them with a tranquil hideaway. Offering sea view accommodation, innovative dining options and Spa facilities, the 34-room Casa del Mar is the perfect oasis for couples looking for a private and peaceful retreat. From its Mediterranean architecture to its cosy and aesthetically pleasing interior, Casa del Mar is a ‘highly individualised property’. At Casa del Mar, one can indulge in the personalised yet unobtrusive service designed specially to pamper the individual. Guests will be in for a real gastronomic experience with La Sal Restaurant where innovative & yet soul satisfying Mediterranean cuisine, seafood BBQ and Asian samplers will be served. Guests can choose to sit inside the restaurant, with interiors recreated to the splendour of a Californian winery or dine al fresco at the poolside or beachside. Casa del Mar offers one the tranquility of a private holiday home by day and subtle gaiety by night through entertainment and dining options. All traditional hospitality practices will be challenged such that every aspect of the property is in harmony with the objective of creating experiences around individuals. Please note that we specialise in couples and adults and do not offer cots or extra beds in guest rooms. Location: Located at the legendary island of Langkawi, northwest of Peninsula Malaysia, Casa del Mar sits along the island’s Pantai Cenang beach, which is a 10-minute ride from the Langkawi airport and within close proximity to Kuah town, the most popular entertainment area in Langkawi with a wide selection of restaurants and bars.
Excellent Hotel. The atmosphere..the peacefulness of the place ..it's well taken care of..would recommend to others .The beach is right upfront ..the sunsets are to die for.The staff are very friendly ...what I liked the most is their uniform which did not look like working attires...what a mood.

Fringed by lush rainforests and lapped by the clear-blue Andaman Sea, the Malaysian island of Langkawi has a gem on its landscape - The Ritz Carlton, Langkawi. Our oceanfront Langkawi 5-star resort blends beautifully with its surroundings and was designed to reflect a traditional kampong village with 90 luxurious guest rooms and suites and 29 pool villas, three swimming pools, a locally inspired spa, three dining outlets, two oceanfront bars and lounges, and both indoor and outdoor wedding venues.
My husband and I had such a tranquil and lovely stay here. The location of the resort, so close to the airport, the forest and the sea, makes it an ideal place of stay in Langkawi. We were surrounded by plush greenery and landscape, and woke up every morning to a scenic view of the sea. In the morning, you could spot little crabs scurrying about on the beach and hear the call of hornbills. We were lucky enough to have spotted a pair of them flying around near our villa on one of the days. More often, we saw macaques swinging from tree to tree. Except for a short jaunt to the nearby Langkawi skybridge and Kapal Layar seafood restaurant, we rarely ventured out as the resort was truly self-sufficient, and had everything we needed for a restful retreat. Breakfast at the Langkawi Kitchen was wonderful. Buffets were back by then and we were spoilt for choice by the extensive menu. We had teh tarik every morning as a perk-me-up and it was simply perfection - frothy, milky delicious and with just the right amount of sweetness. We mostly had our lunch and dinners at the Horizon and the Beach Grill. We tried so many appetisers and mains, and everything tasted good. We particularly enjoyed the croquette and laksa at the Beach Grill and the green curry and coconut dessert at the Horizon. The food was truly delicious, made all the better by the scenic views. (Though do note that at the Beach Grill, located so close to the forest, if you choose to sit outdoors, you have to watch out for the occasional pests. But this is understandable considering the location.) Service here is excellent. There is a 24/7 buggy service to help guests move around the property with its many gentle slopes. Also, when Ritz-Carlton came to know that my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary, they added some lovely touches to our room. They made up our bath and bed with petals, and provided us with fruits and a dessert. We truly enjoyed our stay here.

Designed in the style of a traditional Malay village, Pelangi's 355 guestrooms and suites are housed in wooden chalets that are spread across 35 acres of lush landscaped gardens along a stretch of white sandy shores. Be ushered into a world of ethnic charm and tropical tranquility at this award-winning resort!
I have last came here back in 2008 when it was renamed Meritus. it was good and almost a 5 star standard hotel of that era. The breakfast spread was great and everything was there. However visiting it recently, the main building is under renovation and basically the function halls have been converted into shops. Not sure what is going on under new ownership that has changed the name back to the original. The breakfast spread has also become pretty standard continental fare. The buggy service is too slow until we could find a shortcut to walk to the reception building across the street. The rooms have also gone a bit lower in standard with no more bathrobe. However there are adequate towels and decent enough still. Unusually the wardrobe and luggage rack are integrated into the bathroom and the bathroom can be seen from the outside front window. So be sure to use the blackout curtains. Conveniently there is a water pipe just outside the room to wash off any sand or dirt before entering. In-room meals have relegated to basically some kind of KFC menu. On the whole, the resort is undergoing a huge transition and very not sure what will happen to this historic place.

It's 54 rooms, 40 villas, 12 suites and 14 beach villas offer views of the surrounding nature. The award-winning dining outlets pay homage to the exotic flavours and culinary tradition of the region. Leisure facilities include two swimming pools; an award-winning spa and Els Club Teluk Datai - the most scenic 18-hole golf course in Southeast Asia designed by the golf legend Ernie Els.
This was our second visit to the Datai, and our first holiday after the pandemic - and we could not have chosen a better place. It is just as beautiful and well maintained as it was in 2018 (see our review from back then), and the quality of service - just as superb. For a moment, one could close their eyes and imagine the pandemic never happened. This time, we stayed in the Beach Villa - and from the beginning we felt like we were in safe hands: The booking process (via Datai website), the airport transfer, the Butler, the villa check-in - everything worked perfectly. The whole process was even more challenging, as we are vegans and have special dietary requirements. But the attention and dedication of the Datai staff in this regard exceeded all our expectations. For that, we would like to thank Mr Ismail, the Villa Manager, and Mr Indra, the Director of Food & Beverage, for their competent managerial oversight, and making the guest experience truly exceptional. Also, special thanks to Chef Baha - for being so attentive and for adding a wonderful sweet finish to our meals, Chef Chai - for the vegan masterclass dinner at the Dining Room, and Chef Azman and Effeleona at the Beach Club - for taking charge and making our vegans’ life so much easier:) If you are a vegan traveller reading this - the Datai can definitely be recommended as a vegan friendly destination. For the best dining experience, we suggest you choose the restaurant and go through the vegan menu early in the day. The food - including vegan food - is absolutely delicious at the Datai. So, if you would like to burn some extra calories, the gym is also great - with all the necessary equipment and an experienced team. And here, special thanks to Edo for expert advice and sessions. Add the yoga terrace, the steam/ sauna, and the Spa beauty department for an amazing holiday:) Once again, a big thank you to everyone at the Datai for making our stay so wonderful. Looking forward to coming back!

Located in the Andaman Sea off the northwestern coast of Malaysia, the archipelago of Langkawi is south-east Asia's first UNESCO Geopark – a geological and ecological wonderland of 550-million-year-old rock formations, precipitous rainforest and deserted islands. Just minutes by boat from the world-renowned mangroves of the Kilim Karst Geoforest Park, Four Seasons Resort Langkawi combines artful design and all-pervading serenity with a wholesome connection with nature. The Resort’s traditional Malay kampong-design weaves through acres of beachfront gardens dotted with al fresco restaurants, palms and lotus ponds. An endless sense of space encourages clarity and calm. UNESCO-protected mangroves showcase labyrinthine adventures between land and sea, supported by the on-site Geopark Discovery Centre, while the Geo Spa draws on the ancient healing energies of the surrounding nature. Throughout the Resort, private cabanas, endless hideaways and landscaped pools (including one for adults only) offer the freedom and flexibility to reflect and reconnect – individually, with one another or as a family.
Stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. Farah at reception welcomed us at the resort. My daughter really liked her and Farah was very charming and made us feel so welcomed. The check in venue is out of this world. Our 1st night was in an ocean view suite which was so cosy and amazing. It had an amazing outdoor bath which we loved to use. We had our dinner at the Kapala Grill and Daniel and his team were just the best ever. In the morning I went on the nature walk and Amy was the nicest guide ever. Our 2nd night was spent in Villa number 1 which was right on the beach. The villa had an amazing private pool. This was simply the best experience ever! The villa had a private beach! Monkies came to visit us! Lizards visted us! We saw eagles and a hornbill! Lots of squirells. Wow, wow, wow!!! I would like to make a special mention of Joanne who made our stay so memorable and went the extra mile. If I remember correctly Jo was the manager and she was so kind and humble and service oriented, as the manager she drove our buggy and helped with our luggage and checked up on us regularly. How amazing is that the management lead from the front. Ravi in the breakfast venue was so charming and made us feel very welcome. The staff in the kids club were amazing also. The four seasons Langkawi is simply amazing resort, what makes it so special are the staff. They really do care!

Booked throught Airasia Apps ( SNAP) Reasonal price Far from town / Chenang beach but trust me it is worth it. Need car to move around the Island. Once you step in the Resort can hear insect buzzing and love the forest and beach ( private ) Staff 100⭐️ /10 ⭐️ Thanks to reservation staff/customer service Nita & Naomi help on request and question throught email. FO girls did a great job attending and explain detail to guest on Resort Rooms, F&B and facilities during check in and check out fast and smoothly. You need to pay deposit when you check in but will be return if didnt used during your stay. F&B staff friendly, polite and helpful. Really have a good chat with them especially sorry cant remember the name chubby waitress really help me explaining its safe to drive to/from Resort during night time. Really appreciate them alot Rainforest Chalet 100⭐️/10⭐️ Outside look old, dirty, messy, dark, small but once you in room suprisingly spacious, clean, modern interior, full of toilet amenities, free titbits and beverages in the minibar. Big king size bed and comfortable toilet/bathroom clean spacious. Love my chalet floor squeeking when you step the floor remind me of Kampung house / my grandparent house. Bring back old memories. Room also provided torchlight, mosquito vape and insect aerosol. Big YES there going to be insect in your room InSha Allah all harmless and there aerosol, vape can be use to kill the insect so dont be suprise and what do you expect room in forest to be. Dinner & Breakfast at Dayang Cafe 3⭐️ / 10⭐️ Dinner was bad experience I order A la Carte Char Kway Teow ( delicious, good wok hay flavour, good portion, prawns sufficient ) Nasi Goreng Kampung horrible Didnt look like, taste like NGK. No vegetable and about 3 pieces of chicken. The rice not freshly cook. It taste or feel like I mean already cooked earlier and if there new order they just put in microwaves. But the thing is the rice is not even hot/warm. Acar not fresh just carrot and pickled green chillies and fried chicken not fresh it just a frozen prepack chicken. ( really disappointed ) I missed the fire show by the the beach as i have to go out to look for food to fill my hungry tummy. 1st day breakfast below average. Food didnt taste good, bland and suprisingly they served NGK for breakfast which to me it just same like the one i had for dinner. Didnt complaint but giving them a 2nd chance 2nd day breakfast it turnout to be much much much better. The food taste really good, tastier and good choices. Different from 1st day.So mgmt have to look upon this matter and have to monitor on their staff of doing their work. Pool/beach 10⭐️/10⭐️ Love the landscape pool with the waterfall alot of sunlounger by the pool and beach. Beach really private and cater only to Berjaya Langkawi guest and white sand just on the day i was there the wind is too strong during after. 5pm so hardky can swim. But still love the surrounding and views . Other facilities didnt try yet as i just come for a short vacay. Will definately come again and again again and bring along families and friend to try the experience i had. What i have review it just on what happen during my stay. I do hope management look upon the problem and can improved for future .... all the best Berjaya Langkawi Resort

We had a very relaxing, enjoyable time at this hotel. The staff and every employee greets you anytime they see you and they are all very hospitable and very accommodating. The hotel premises is very promising environment. I do not know how to swim, however the Rock Pool didn't stop me from enjoying the amazing pool. The private beach is very clean and you can really relax without the sound of an overcrowded beach. Breakfast was great and you need the stomach to enjoy every bit. Rooms are clean and housekeeping is very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to patronize this hotel again.

Location good and staff friendly.Rooms ok.However was not happy to ve told when we arrived that the two rooms (2 adults, two children) that I had booked would not be together but would be located at opposite ends of the building. This was clearly not an option. However then after 5 mins they siad we could have connecting rooms if we paidban extra 460 RM.This was either a scam to take money or us or incompetent mismanagement. Hopefully this will not happen to future guests.
