We visited Astir Odysseus the first week in June as a couple. We booked through Jet2 – which we would highly recommend, especially if going from ? M a n c h e s t e r ?. Wow, what an amazing holiday and hotel! A week flew by, and I wanted to stay so much longer, but hope to return. I think the place to start is the views, from mountains on one side to sea and island views on the other, the location of this hotel is exceptional for scenery and of course sunsets!! We even saw lightening across Turkey/Bodrum a few nights whilst staying here which was amazing to sit and watch from afar. It’s been a while since I’ve stayed in a beach front hotel, and it made me realise how much I love and have missed having a private beach right there at the hotel. The colour of the sea and the sound of the waves was beautiful to look at and listen too. One of the best things about this hotel was the lagoon/beach pool, as it was perfectly located for sea views and a sea breeze, the sunbeds were spacious (and we never had a problem getting a sunbed – no morning rushes and reserving), and the pool itself was great. It was always a little cool upon getting in, but you soon adjust to the temperature. You can order drinks to your sunbed via the app you download at check in which is a great feature. We were half board during our stay, which worked well overall. There is the option to upgrade to All Inclusive at the hotel so personally I would consider booking half board and consider upgrading at the hotel if it is better value. The drinks are around €3 for a soft drink or juice, €4 for a beer, €9 for a cocktail, so we would’ve had more to drink had we been all inclusive, but we are big water drinkers and were happy buying the large bottles of water from the hotel shop for €1 a few times a day. One of the reasons we stuck with half board was because of lunch. Lunch in the hotel is at the Argo restaurant where all inclusive have free access to a lunch buffet or can pay a reduced amount for a freshly prepared lunch (salad, pizza, sandwiches etc). We ate here and paid full price for our lunch most days but thoroughly enjoyed the food prepared, a lot more than we would have enjoyed buffet for lunch and tea every day, so it was worth it for us – everything we ate was amazing: Greek Salad, Ceaser Salad (with smoked salmon), Special Pizza, Chicken Focaccia sandwich and more. You get bread and butter before, and melon after with your lunch for free too when having a meal. Another thing to note is the Ithaka A La Carte restaurant isn’t included in All Inclusive and this is somewhere we wanted to eat so again being half board worked fine for us in this instance… PLEASE go and eat at Ikatha during your stay – it is honestly one of the best experiences and meals we’ve ever had. The service was exceptional, the views of the sunset were unbeatable, and the food was amazing. We both tried grilled octopus for the first time, and it was honestly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! It was so quiet when we went, only us and 1 other couple in the restaurant. There are so many different room options here, so it was interesting to walk around the hotel and scope out the different types – we stayed in a basic room with garden view and we were very pleased with the cleanliness and room features we had, as well as the quietness of our room location. We did feel some rooms would be busier than ours in terms of people walking past etc. In the room there is full size bottles of shampoo, body wash and body lotion which if we’d known this would’ve saved us some packing weight. You don’t have to pay for a safe or Wi-Fi here too which is good. There really are not many negatives – not enough to put me off returning anyway – but just some things to note. We were aware of a Greek hotel tax before arriving as Jet2 has told us we would be required to pay this upon arrival to the hotel, however this didn’t happen and so we were a bit unprepared (basically forgot about it) when it was presented to us to pay at the end of our stay when checking out – so please be aware of that. It was €28 for a week for the 2 of us. The food in the main restaurant did get boring, it started off well, we thoroughly enjoyed our first evening of Greek food and the second evening was a Mexican themed night which was great but then for the rest of the holiday there was no other themes, and it became a bit repetitive in the end. The restaurant and food were lovely, and we were a big fan of breakfast (shout out to the lovely omelette guy), but I think this was the only thing we would’ve started to struggle with had we been staying longer than a week. We also, as a couple in quite a family occupied hotel, liked to go to dinner a bit later when it was quieter, sometimes after the sunset so 8:30/9pm – and it did feel like food began to run out and they weren’t refilling, so slightly less selection or fresh food. Our biggest disappointment however was not being able to get to Tingaki via bus. We had a lovely day out to Kos town, super easy to get on the bus outside the hotel and back, and we thought it would be just as simple to hop on the bus to go 5km in the other direction to the main strip on Tingaki, and the beach and/or the Salt Lake. But we were told we’d have to get a taxi which would be €12 each way, so on this occasion we decided against it which is a shame, perhaps if we went at a slightly cooler time we would’ve hired bikes and cycled there. Jet 2 state the transfer time is approx. 50 mins, but it was more like 1hr 30 – I would consider booking a private transfer next time to avoid the bus journey. Another thing to note is the size of this hotel, even on our sunbathing days we both did 10,000 + steps a day, and because our room was close to the front of the hotel it could take 10 mins to get to the end of the lagoon pool where we liked our sunbeds. It was fine for us, but good to be aware of. But honestly, if you are thinking of booking this hotel, and our looking for a hotel that has everything you need to unwind and have a fun break then DO IT. It was an absolutely amazing holiday and I have major holiday blues now – thank you Astir Odysseus.

A beachfront hotel of modern white design, with magnificent views of the Aegean Sea, surrounded with fabulous green gardens. An ideal place to enjoy the sun and the scents of the Greek islands! Located on the southeast coast of the island of Kos and next to the renowned for its crystal clear waters Agios Fokas beach, the hotel is just 7kms away from Kos town, the harbour and the Marina and 32kms away from Kos International Airport (KGS). One of the very first hotels to have been built in Kos back in 1970, Dimitra Beach Hotel & Suites has recently undergone extensive renovation in all of its public areas and rooms (2015-2019). With its private beach, amazing sea views from all public areas and most of the rooms, bungalows next to the sea, pools and terraces, the hotel is an earthly paradise with verdant gardens, colourful plants and all shades of blue of the sea and the sky! Ideal for couples and families, we are proud and pleased to welcome many repeater guests every year and offer them a pleasant stay in a friendly atmosphere.
We stayed at Dimitra Beach for 10 nights in May 0f 2022. Had a bungalow with a see view which was large enough and comfortable. The meals were excellent (although being a senior I would often prefer much less salt). The waiters were fast and very nice. The cleaning lady was most helpful. If I could suggest improvements - I would let guests make their own coffee from coffee machines rather than have it served. The only thing that seemed questionable was the bathroom made of glass with no lockable door. Very little privacy. Otherwise, a first class hotel on a beautiful island.

An exceptional 5 star hotel in Kos island is offering magnificent views of Aegean sea and one of the coolest infinity pools in Greece!
This hotel is nothing less than stunning. Views to die for, spotlessly clean, great modern rooms. The food is incredible, the buffet is really good, the choice in a la carte well worth a visit, we always found plenty to eat in every restaurant. We’ve seen some comments about the wine, but we found the rose really lovely and one of our party is very picky. The best part about the hotel though is the staff. Every single person was lovely, really helpful and made you feel like they were pleased to see you. A special mention to the wonderful Adina who looked after us so well in the bar. One of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed in for a lovely chilled week, can’t wait to return.

LABRANDA Marine Aquapark Resort is the ideal place for a splendid and memorable family vacation. Indulge in the nearby beach, the unique pool scenery amidst the spacious gardens or the Aqua Park with water slides & wave pool. The resort is suitable for families, elderly and handicapped guests.
I went with my mum. niece and 4 children aged from 1 to 13yrs Accomodation was very basic but immaculately clean. We travelled with Jet 2 and the app we used, the information on the hotel was out of date. There was no dvd in the rooms anymore. TV on one room only 1 channel in English. No bath and shower okay. Hairdryer crap took 20mins to dry my fringe so advisable to take your own. Also take coat hangers only a few in wardrobe. Cleaners were so friendly, tidied room to a high standard and folded your pjamas into a animal shape. Chatted away and left a large bottle of water every day. Fridge in the room but all goes off when you leave the room as you need to use the key. Low lightening in the room. Staff Outstanding to say the least - from cleaning staff, restaurant staff, bar staff, entertainment staff, ground maintenance cannot fault any one of them. Had to see a doctor for my son whilst there and seem straight away by nurse followed by doctor 15 mins later. Again great service. Pools Great choice from adult only to kids paddling pool, water park pool and wave pool. Fun for all. The pools don't open till 10am in the morning. Each one has its own lifeguards who are very interactive and friendly. Hotel allow you pool towels that you can swap every other day which was handy. Enough beds and seats for everyone Bars Pool bar open 10am till 1am. You are given a token per person at the start of the holiday and you pay a deposit for these to encourage you to return your cups to the bar. This was evidently working as no empty cups lying around. Drink choice is the usual stuff. Hotel bar open 5pm to 1am again this was mentioned in the Jet 2 app as opened from 10am to 1am which is not the case. This bar you don't need the tokens and you get proper glasses. Lovely comfy sofas and seating and good music with friendly consistent staff. Food I was very impressed with the food range, quality and times offered. Snack bar at pool from 12 to 3pm small selection of common foods which varied day to day - chips, burgers, pasta. Main restaurant opened from 6am to 11am - continental first and last hour. Hot food I'm between as well as continental. You name it they made - chips all day for breakfast through to dinner. Each night they had a different theme of food. Entertainment Daytime we had aerobics and games in the wave pool. Activities on the stage throughout like darts and dancing. Kids club which we didn't really use as kids too busy in pools and on slides. Mini disco at night then some entertainment after which was okay - 1 good one during our stay the acrobatics show. Staff always got you involved and were genuinely interested in you.

It’s in a nice setting not too far from Kos Town and with a convenient bus just outside. Communal areas are generally ok but the pools were pretty dirty (one looked like filter wasn’t working though someone did clean it everyday) and pool stairs were coming out of the ground. They pools also felt quite slimy and yellow marks can be seen at the water line. They need better and more regular cleaning. High traffic areas were kept clean/looking nice but other areas e.g. stairwells to rooms in the main building felt quite dirty, bird droppings, bugs etc. Staff generally friendly although at poor bar if you’re not on all inc you’re treated a bit like a second class citizen. No idea why given I was one of the few actually paying for stuff. Was like it was too much of an effort for them to put it through the till. Check in was poor. It was late so only reception cover but not being AI I was given a tatty envelope with my key and very little info at all. They spent a long time with the family before me (on AI of course). Rooms do need updating but I was aware of that when I booked and the price seemed to reflect. Why they didn’t take advantage of covid though to do that though is beyond me. The bathrooms in particular need a refurb. And if you want hot water at peak times forget it, it just runs dry. Complained numerous times. Said they’d send maintenance. Never saw maintenance. Basically just have showers at random times and it might be ok. It seemed more of an ongoing issue than a one off. Heard numerous calls with the same issue when at reception. Housekeeping - came every day but did the minimum. Asked for an extra bath towel as one small bath towel and face towel is a struggle if you have long hair to wash! Never appeared. Food/buffet was fine - usual fare to cater for everyone. The local options were better done. Staff were friendly and tables cleared and re-set quickly. All in all ok, the weather was great but I won’t being making a repeat visit I’m afraid.

Stayed for 10days beginning of June and will never be returning. Customer service skills are shocking - having to ask 3 + times for the simplest of things before actually received. Food is ridiculous boring and bland and lukewarm everyday - the ques were outrageous to even get the food. Says bbq opens at 3pm thats a lie as doesn't till 345 so ignore the signs. My room was never cleaned once since arrived and no fresh towels received throughout my stay. Cleaners knock on door at 8 am! Who is even up that early on holiday! Noisy dated rooms which weren't cleaned. One bar open in evening with 3 members of staff serving hundreds of people so the que was a joke. You go all inclusive to not spend extra money daily but have spent money out for meals most days and in the shop as the food choice is poor for myself and my child. Dirty plates left by poolside for days on end, park is falling apart with peddles off bikes and flooring ripped up. Blocked drains around the resort which stink! Really disappointed with the customer service and hotel! Sad that my first holiday after covid had to be this!! Saved and spent a lot of money as a single parent to make memories and have been let down.

Designed to recreate the look of a castle, the family-run Platanista consistently wins awards for its high standards, excellent value for money & caring staff. This impressive hotel is in a quiet position only 200m from the beach, 2km from Kos town, & 1km from the marina. A simple, yet aesthetic, environment worked out to accommodate the visitors who would want to experience something exceptional from the ordinary. A thousand and one nights in Greece...
Just returned from 10 days at Platanista, good location, great staff, lovely rooms, and good food. The entertainment however is a complete let down. We chose this hotel as needed to please 10 people aged 8-70, this seemed a good choice. first 3 days had some entertainment (perhaps a little corny) but children liked it, suddenly all stopped with no explanation, through the grapevine it would seem there was something wrong with the visas for the entertainment staff. Evening entertainment stopped as well, we had 3 good external acts but after that nothing. Surely after the TUI adverts as a family hotel something could have been done? there must be plenty of acts on Kos Island. Tried to speak to manager but was never available. We still enjoyed our holiday, but would be more suitable to adults only.
