The Elgin Silver Oaks was built in 1930 and once belonged to the prominent architect Frederick Desraj who built the old Teesta Bridge. It is now converted into a luxury hill resort in the Himalayas. Lounging in the landscaped gardens in a profusion of colour, one is treated to breathtaking views of the Himalayas. The natural decor is characteristic in the imposing Kanchenjungha which can be seen on a clear day, blooming petunias and asters, the serrated violet edges of iris, iridescent butterflies flitting through colourful azaleas, drooping geraniums, proud orchids and heaven, temporarily descends on earth. Sitting in one of the quaint gazebos, the tea seems to be flavoured by the refreshing winds of the Himalayas.
Very bad and deplorable condition. I think the management is not accepting this fact. However as a traveller disappointed and not going to sugar coat my opinion. Never going to refer or. Recommend to others . Other smaller lodgings are far better

Sweeping views of majestic snow-clad mountains and enchanting hills draped in sage and emerald green. A charming pathway lined with a blossoming nursery and lit by a natural skylight. A tall elegant pine tree overlooking picture perfect lawns dotted with chairs and tables sheltered by sunshades. Welcome to the exquisite environs of the spectacular MAYFAIR Himalayan Spa Resort located in the endearing little hill town of Kalimpong.
Recently stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is situated at a walkable distance from Kalimpong market. The hotel is pretty spread-out, the entire property i.e., lobby, room, restaurant, lawn, banquet hall etc. were wonderfully maintained with eye catching décor and artifacts. My room was located at one floor down to lobby level. The room was very spacious with 2 queen beds, which can easily accommodate 4 pax, and was fitted with all necessary comforts and amenities. The washroom was equally spacious and provided with shower, bathtub, 24 hours running hot water etc., all necessary toiletries were also provided. The room had a balcony with beautiful mountain view, however due to cloud, the mountain view was somewhat prevented. The staffs were courteous and responsive. The lawn in front of restaurant had the most beautiful mountain view, a favorite place for photo ops. Overall a luxurious and comfortable stay, highly recommended.

The Yakha Retreat and Spa is a luxury hotel located on a hilltop in the town of Kalimpong. This stylish hotel with fresh and bright interiors refreshes guests with its colorful and spirited environment. It is beautifully designed with deluxe furnishings and trendy appeal. Patrons can visit Hanuman Temple(1 km), Kalimpong Science Centre(7 km), Geden Tharpa Choling Monastery(7 km), Mangal Dham(9 km), Dr. Graham's Homes(10 km) and many more. All the rooms in the hotel are the epitome of sheer self-indulgence and are designed to perfection to ensure unparalleled experience for guests. Offering style and modern convenience in equal measure, the rooms are beautifully furnished. They are for those discerning travelers who wish for a classy ambiance and service. The nearest airport and railway station to the region are Bagdogra Airport and New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. Have a nice stay at The Yakha Retreat and Spa! less
Kalimpong is a packed place, where around mainly some small markets crowded packed hotels are present. But YAKHA RETREAT is like delo hill with 5 star rooms and services. The owner Sonam YAKHA himself looks after all services - from food to travel. We stayed for 1 night but wish we could stay more, with 2 kids and elderly couple. The buffet dinner was superb and simple. Rooms with hot & cold water at all time. We watched AFC INDIA VS CAMBODIA MATCH - where india won, so TELEVISION all time. Two dogs at the hotel will greet you and will fill you with happiness at the hotel. If you expect city like full speed Wi-Fi - then you should visit metro cities not hills. If clear skies - YOU COULD SEE kanchenjunga, from your room. We booked from Agoda and found extremely good. Go and check yourself, rooms are big with big windows and with breathtaking views of hills.

Mystic orchid retreat is a lovely cosy place with wonderfully cheerful and hospitable staff (especially Deepika and swetha). My stay in this property was extremely memorable for the serenity of the hotel location and the wonderful hospitality.

We traveled to Kolakham village last weekend and stayed in Flycatchers home stay for 1 night. We got a duplex room with 2 queen size beds in the top floor. Kanchenjunga range is clearly visible from room. there is a specious balcony in front of the room where you can also sit and enjoy the view with hot cup of tea or any drinks. you can do campfire in the balcony (with minimum additional cost) for the whole evening. The staffs are very friendly and cooperative, specially Hemant who took care of each and every guest. Food package includes breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner with a price of Rs.500 per person per day. Would love to visit there for longer stay once again.
