From the storybook villages and dizzying peaks of the Swiss Alps to the lakeside resorts of Geneva and Lucerne, landlocked Switzerland serves up some of Europe’s most enchanting scenery (along with some of its most delicious cheeses and chocolates, too).

Enjoyed two nights (a recommended minimum to be there!) with wife and baby. Amazing place, would definitely go again for the Swiss Pod. Excellent breakfast: not a huge choice, but superb quality of local food. This is exactly my taste. Roxane at breakfast and tea time did a great job, the same as the (apparently new) GM Jonas, who looks after every guests. If you hesitate to book: just book and enjoy!

Beautiful serene location at 4000 feet altitude in the Swiss Alps. Owner Sandra is such a kind, welcoming and helpful person. Definitely recommend renting a car to get there and explore the area. The Salt Room is a very calming experience. There are many farm animals to interact with, and also 2 perrots welcoming guests in the breakfast room. Delicious breakfast provided , with locals meats/ milk/ cheeses. Located close to many great hiking trails in Leysin ( 10 min drive into Leysin village), La Berneuse, Tour d’Aï. About 40 min drive to Glacier 3000, where you can hike and/or take the cable car up to 10000 feet and walk the Peak Walk between two mountain summits! Merci pour tout Sandra, nous allons revenir! ?

I love being able to visit Fattoria Amorosa when I can, wine notwithstanding. The Carato is my favorite red variety and I highly recommend trying if possible. If you want a peaceful stay out of the town amongst the vines and country, this is the place for you. You can access the property via local bus transport (311) with a nearby stop.

We were traveling in northern Switzerland and we were lucky to stay at Gätzibrunner B&B. It's been a very relaxing couple of days, we just felt like home. Dirk and Sandro's home is an ancient Swiss house in a quiet village north of Zürich. Breakfast is excellent and served early in the morning outside the door. We strongly reccomend Gätzibrunner if you want to visit Zürich and hopefully we'll be back in the future.

Steigmatt is not a country house neither a hotel it is a real lovely farmhouse set in a beautiful countryside just a stone’s throw from Austria, in a Swiss valley. We have experienced a night in the straw, with the clean linen provided by the owners and we really enjoyed sleeping there, it’s more comfortable than you imagine! Beyond that the place has nice wooden rooms for all kind of need, in-fact it’s ideal also for groups and families! The restroom is shared but always clean. The real surprise is the kangaroos who live in this beautiful place together with other animals! They are super cute and very friendly! Sonja and Martin, the owners, are very nice and kind! We had a beautiful time with them. Sonja’s prepared homemade yogurt and jams for us for breakfast and Martin made delicious grilled sausages for dinner! We absolutely recommend spending some time there!!!

Beautiful self-catering studio apartment for 2 persons situated in a privileged location in the picturesque village of Maggia with sweeping views of the Maggia valley and a large flower garden, very close to the Maggia waterfall, an idyllic place to bathe.
Staying at the Casa alla Cascata in Maggia has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Tanya and Angelo made us feel very welcome and are very generous and friendly hosts. The flat is lovely and spotless. We enjoyed sitting on the patio, reading or just admiring the view. Maggia is a good base for exploring the valleys (Vallemaggia, Valle del Salto, Val Bavona, Val Lavizzara) and for great walks. It also is close to the city of Locarno and the wonderful lake. Locarno has a splendid new public swimmingpool at the lake. Public transport is very good, we didn’t need a car. Swimming in the cool waters of the river Maggia in the village itself is an extra bonus. And last but not least: Shep is a truly wonderful dog. We have spent two holidays at the Casa Cascata and will certainly go back. Thank you Tanya, Angelo and Shep. Und last but not least: Shep ist ein wunderbarer Hund.
