RESEÑA EN ESPAÑOL MÁS ABAJO We spent a lovely week here between christmas and new year's. The hotel is very classic, colonial style and divided into three main houses where the rooms are located, plus a "fonda" or recreation house with pool table, card games, etc. The grounds and facilites are well maintained, there is no shortage of flowers and birds, but other reviews have mentioned that already. Things I loved: 1) the service. the staff goes out of their way to make you happy. I'm a vegetarian and the staff made an effort to cook delicious meals for me each day. We had a problem with our shower one day which was promptly fixed. Every request was attented to in a timely manner and with a smile. 2) The beds. I'm very picky with mattresses and found the ones in our room (19) to be perfect, had a great night's sleep the whole week. the duvet was great. 3) the cleanliness of the rooms. we moved the beds, opened the cupboards, etc and never found a speck of dust. 4) the hot water and excellent shower pressure. 5) the calm. other than a few dogs barking and roosters crowing (normal finca sounds) this place is perfect for rest and relaxation. Things I didn't love: 1) the jacuzzi. it never heats up to optimum jacuzzi temperature. the infinity pool is nice though 2) breakfast is the same 2 options every day, although it's delicious and always fresh ingredients. 3) no laundry availability. i had some clothes i needed to wash and iron at some point and found out the hotel does not offer this service so take it into account. 4) the internet is spotty, especially in the house furthest from the main one (the one i was in). this was perfect for me because i wannted to unplug, but it might be a problem for some people. 5) styrafoam cups for the coffee station. for a hotel that bills itself as eco friendly, you would hope they change to paper, at least. These details are minor and overall the experience was amazing. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is super professional and kind and the lovely animals kept us entertained with their antics. Do keep in mind that if you come here, you need your own private transportation because it is located in a remote area and at least 20 minutes from anything worth seeing, so it's perfect for unplugging from the rythm of the city.

This old house was initially a rural dwelling. For this reason it is surrounded by wide corridors that allow to contemplate, constantly, the peaceful landscape of its mountains, or the land, with its orchards and fruit trees. Then it was rebuilt and converted into a hotel, without letting it lose the characteristics that over time have credited it as a patrimonial dwelling of the Municipality. Being located in a peripheral street of the municipality, the hotel house "Alto del Coronel" benefits from the tranquility and the mountainous landscape of its surroundings. To satisfy some complementary and recreational demands, it also counts on this town of great environmental, historical and cultural merits. The hotel house has 2 independent housing units (2 suites, 4 rooms), 2 independent dining rooms, a common living room, a separate viewpoint of the house, equipped with comfortable hammocks; (Collections of music (boleros, ballads, classical, tropical Cuban, Brazilian, etc.), a collection of Life magazines in Spanish, books to enjoy reading moments (about our region, and The possibilities of enjoying in full a people whose identity and culture have not been altered, despite the renewing impetus of modernity and tourism. This semi-natural way of life allows guests to ride around the town or participate in horseback riding Which go to nearby natural sites, such as the Cocora Valley, starting from the hotel itself.
The hotel is a totally rebuilt colonial house, but it still preserves all its charm. Especially because the owner has spent a lot of time and effort fixing every detail of the decoration (a bit kitsch). It's a bit pricey if compared with other options (e.g. La Eliana, which would be my alternative recommendation), but it's totally worth it. Moreover, the breakfast is abundant. The housekeeper is a nice person and he will help you with everything you need. Perfect for a couple who wants a calm and relax weekend.

Beautiful place, nice service and views. Everything would have been better if they had gass at the windows. Nights (and even days) in Salento can get very chill and taking your clothes off in a 12-14 Celsius for a shower is not very comfortable... Breakfast is very basic, no options.

Located in the midst of lush greenery, La Colina lodging has been a pioneer in rural tourism. Built in the traditional architectural style of the Antioquian colonization and, as its name implies, on a small hill, offers one of the most beautiful views of the Department: coffee crops, flowers, large native trees, and the imposing mountains framing the green landscape. The lodging has eight beautiful rooms, equipped with private bathroom and beautifully crafted and restored antique furniture, which brings to mind the times when this house was home to a wealthy coffee family. The suite, with its little living room and large windows, offers a cozy environment for a family getaway or to provide privacy so often necessary during travel.
Finca la Colina is beautiful , it has classical architecture from the coffee region. The pool is great to cool off on a hot day . You will be surrounded by nature. If you enjoy bird watching you will love it , also you will experience local hospitality.

Immerse on a huge hacienda hides a house built out of bamboo and clay, conserving the traditional architecture style of the Colombian Coffee Region. Surrounded by the enormous mountains of our Central Andes Mountain, centenary trees, gardens and farms; it’s an oasis of peace and natural beauty. The house was adapted six years ago to receive its guests and has consolidated as the ideal destiny for international travelers in the Quindío area.
An amazing natural landscape with vegetation and birdlife which has to be seen to be believed. Service was good, if at times, a little 'relaxed'. Food was delicious; breakfast and dinner. One negative, the 'road' to the property is so rough it takes a long long time. Special mention to our bird guide, Camillo - he was excellent.

I stayed here 2 nights as part of a gadventure tour, and it was a lovely stay! My room was El Doble, was nice size, clean and had a hammock on the balcony. The owners and staff were fantastic, and loved the outdoor eating area. Great to go for a swim and hot tub. Only small complaint was kinda suprised it was so close to road, so sometimes heard traffic.

The hotel is all inclusive. They provide you with buffet style breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. They also have an open bar that is no additional coat. The jacuzzi you have to reserve. They also have a sauna with a medicinal herb called “eucalipto” which is very relaxing and smells wonderful. They also have a lot of activities. Did not give five stars because we weren’t able to use “el tejo” because they had run out of gun powder or something. Other than that it was great. The rooms were very clean too, and everyday they had a different fruit natura fruit juice. This far I’ve had the pleasure of drinking natura blackberry juice, lulu juice, pineapple juice, strawberry juice, guava juice..and so on. It’s been great. The staff have all been very friendly too. There’s someone by the name of Daniel who is just wonderful! The hotel gives you a free tour called “Túnel de Los sentidos” which is approximately 1 hr walking tour. Lastly, the hotel is in the middle of nature and with wonderful views of the landscape. There’s so many beautiful plants.

Nestled in the foothills of the Andes, halfway between the towns of Armenia and Pereira, Salento is in the heart of Colombian coffee country. Conveniently located some 6-8 hours by bus from Medellin, 7-9 hours from Bogota and 4-5 hours from Cali, Salento is the perfect stop off point to explore Colombia´s coffee country. And when you are in Salento, Plantation House (only 5 blocks from the main plaza) is the best location for you to stay. The original Plantation House (PH 1) is a 100 year old coffee plantation house that offers small dormitory and private accommodation with and without ensuite bathrooms, lounge and kitchen facilities. Plantation House Two (PH 2) is a renovated traditional style farmhouse set in 2 acres of land and is literally across the road from the original Plantation House. This also offers both small dormitory and private accommodation with and without ensuite bathrooms. Both Plantation Houses have gas fired hot water systems. Amongst the many services we offer our guests are WIFI, free internet, kitchen facilities, free coffee, book exchanges and book shop PLUS the best most current and accurate tourist information in Salento. In both the Plantation Houses new kitchen and social areas with fireplaces have been constructed. The Plantation Houses have extensive gardens, with a myriad of flowers and native trees and of course a few coffee plants, hammocks and WIFI access.
Great hostel. The bed was good, the shower was hot and all accomodations were there. The hostel just has a very nice and relaxed atmosphere. The owner Tim (or Don Eduardo) has his own coffee plantation where he grows traditional coffee. His coffee tour is a real recommendation, he has a lot of knowledge about coffee and tells it in a very pleasant way. Also there are a lot of cool dogs that love a bit of attention!

The Marsellesa is a small hotel in the country, a quiet, safe, peaceful, place enjoy a rest, surrounded by nature, with the special attention of all the staff at your service, ready to provide from the moment of his arrival a pleasant and happy stay in Quindío, zone of peace in Colombia, with its coffee landscape declared by UNESCO culture patrimony of the humanity.
We spent three days here and absolutely did not want to leave. We were on the end of a 6 week trip and had stayed at multiple Fincas already, and this one was our favorite, almost entirely because of Mauricio. He is simply the nicest host we have encountered. He will take care of anything you need and do so with a smile. He does not speak English, but even our very minimal Spanish was more than enough to communicate with him. There is a fantastic restaurant just a few miles from the Finca. Highly recommend renting a car and using this Finca as a home base to explore the entire area. We drove to multiple locations within a 2 hours drive of the Finca and could not have asked for a better glimpse into life in the Zona Cafetera.
