Cottages And Vacation Rentals In Maine
Room was clean and the kitchen well stocked with essential. It could use some more maintenance. I understand it is a cabin but things should function properly. Screen porch door and cabin entrance door would not open completely. Hope they do more to maintain or it will go down hill fast. Owners seem nice but there own house exterior is a wreck and the roof has got to leak it is so bad.

This entire place is amazing and went above expectations in every way. Surprisingly the bugs were minimal for being in the thick of the Maine woods. The staff were all super friendly and really went that extra step to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. We stayed in the Robins Nest and had two sauna sessions (highly recommend) along with a guided meditation from Jen (highly recommend). It was all a wonderful experience.

Our biggest disappointment was that we could not stay longer at Harris Point Cabins. The views from our cabin and campground were amazing. The cabin we stayed in did not have a shower but the short walk to the shower room was actually really nice as it provided more time to take in the view. Our stay was punctuated with a bald eagle landing on the tree feet from our cabin viewing point. Campground was very close to downtown which had some good restaurants and neat little shops. Of note, at the end of the road coming from the campground turn left instead of right and this will take you right downtown. Not a far distance the other way but a but more convenient. We can't wait to travel back to Maine and Harris Point Shore Cabins!

Great weekend at Frost Mountain Yurts. We have stayed in yurts at other places and Frost Mountain's was the biggest and nicest we have rented so far. The woodstove kept us warm and toasty in spite of it being MINUS 5 degrees the first night we were there. The cookstove was excellent and the kitchen items were all of very good quality. The site was beautiful, or at least I can say it was when covered in over a foot of snow! I can't honestly say what the outdoor amenities were like as it was much too cold that weekend to use any of them. We are already planning to come back.

Rejuvenate with family and friends, or treat your staff to a special break at Pineland Farms, where our beautifully appointed guest houses are set against stunning vistas and peaceful surroundings. Explore hundreds of acres of fields and trails on the farm, and tour the local area, with less than 30 minutes to Freeport, Portland, and Maine's Lakes Region. Accommodating as few as two or more than twenty, our guest houses offer unique character and comfort.
We rented the Collyer Brook Farmhouse for the second year for a 3 generation weekend. There is lots of room for our large family to spread out and to play and cook together. There is sledding, snowshoeing and Nordic skiing right outside the door or one can drive a short distance to ski on groomed Pineland trails, sled on the groomed sledding hill, skate, or snowshoe. There is also a Y with an indoor pool and gym.

Alden Camps is a seasonal resort that offers great fishing, fantastic food and family fun. We are located on scenic East Pond in the Belgrade Lakes area, a part of the Kennebec and Moose River Valleys Region. Come and enjoy activities for all members of the family in a rustic environment. Nature abounds and waterskiing, tubing and a sand beach complement some of the best small and largemouth bass fishing in the United States. Three meals a day in our central dining room and a weekly Lobster Clam Bake will give you the energy to enjoy all that Alden Camps has to offer. Our family looks forward to welcoming you.
We visited for 5 nites in July with friends that have been going for years. The cabins were just what you needed- clean with a beautiful view. We rented a boat to have for the week and also paddleboards- they were great to use when we wanted. The food was very good- breakfast and dinners in the main house. Lunch was bagged to go but we were fishing most days so we typically made other plans. There isn’t ac in the cabins but the weather was perfect- and we brought fans. Not having tv was nice- we kept busy outside with nature. My 19 year old son and his GF came with us and they enjoyed it as much as us. Fishing was great on East Pond- we had guides with us and caught lots of fish. We would definitely return. Thanks Alden Camps for a change of scenery and to a simple time.

Quiet, beautiful river view setting, yet close to amenities in Machias. Rates are reasonable. Cabins could use some maintenance (bathroom linoleum peeling up, screens taped together). Good water pressure but the shower is tiny. Kitchen is a bit make-shift but ok for a short stay.

Mountain Glory Farm is located right on the edge of the Great North Woods in Patten, Maine. It is an area full of history, unspoiled beauty, rolling farm fields and small towns populated with friendly Mainers who have been here for generations. It is also an undiscovered 4 season paradise for a wide variety of outdoor activities including: moose safaris, birdwatching, fly fishing, hiking, canoeing, rafting, hunting, ultralite flying, ice fishing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Nearby Baxter State Park's 200,000 acres of protected wilderness is a photographer's delight, crowned by Mount Katahdin where the Appalachian Trail begins. The farm is also the perfect place for anyone who wants to sit peacefully looking out over God's country, observe the Amish way of life and maybe take an easy stroll to watch the grass grow, the leaves turn or the snowflakes fall. Our circa 1890 farmhouse has been reconfigured and renovated offering two duplex apartments. The "home away from home" accommodations provide cozy living rooms, fully equipped kitchens, barbecue decks, new bathrooms and spacious bedrooms with big, warm comforters. Each apartment is well stocked with books, games, maps, satellite TV and a Guest Book full of all the information about this area you will need for "what to do" & "where to go". Views from the farmhouse are of fields and pastures, hedgerows, the mountain range, Mt. Katahdin and our young Amish family's farming endeavors. Moose, red fox, whitetail deer, bear, snow hare, wild turkeys and partridge all wander freely about the farm. Eagles, hawks and ravens soar down the valley. Our 170 acres are ringed with apple trees which in the Spring fill the clean mountain air with their delicate fragrance. And our newly reclaimed heirloom apple orchard blooms right next to the farmhouse. Other farms on the road raise an interesting mix of creatures and crops including: pheasants, horses, long horn steer, cows, dogs, goats, geese, potatoes, hay, blueberries, corn, apples, raspberries and many veggies. Mountain Glory Farm is a classic Maine farm that just happens to be located right on the edge of a wilderness mountain paradise. Choosing the right name for something can be perplexing sometimes. Naming this farm was easy: "Mountain Glory" it is.
We stopped here as a convenient stop during a visit to the new Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument, and we were pleased to find it. The Farm offers lodging in two halves of an 1890-era farmhouse. We were in the south unit, which included LR, DR, and kitchen on the first floor, and two bedrooms on the second. Simple yet very comfortable accommodations, well thought out. The owner has provided a complete binder of information about this area of Maine and activities. The owner was very easy to deal with in making arrangements. The farmhouse is adjacent to an Amish family who lease the farm, so that you get glimpses of their life out the windows or on some of the walking trails. The wife sells baked and canned goods at their farmstead or at a roadside stand a few miles south on Rte. 11.
