Excellent hotel for a stopover or for longer if exploring the area. Clean, comfortable room and extremely helpful and friendly staff. And all for a great price. Definitely a good alternative to Premier Inn/Travelodge and with a more personal touch as it's independent rather than part of a chain. Large car park plus petrol station next door are added benefits. Would definitely use again when in the area.

I didn’t even make it to stay there. I was trying to inform the receptionist that my card had changed for payment. I was spoken to by a very rude man who just kept saying if you have no money in your account it’s your problem I am not your bank. I tried to explain that I had funds but needed to change card details. He just kept shouting that I should ring my bank if I have no money. I have never been spoken to I such a rude manner and in the end cancelled the booking. I would never stay at such a rude and disrespectful place. I wasn’t listened to just spoken over. Will never get my custom. I only gave it 1 as not the option to give zero

We have 9 letting bedrooms all of which have an en-suite, television (including sky), and a welcome tray including tea and coffee making facilities, and complimentary biscuits and mints. The hotel has two bars, and a restaurant. We at the Eskdale take care in providing comfortable accommodation in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
I booked this place as it was close enough for me to get to the Metrolink at Brooklands and then on to the Marathon. Very friendly landlady, sorted out a runner's breakfast for me and nothing seemed too much trouble. Room was large and comfortable. I wasn't planning on eating there. However the specials board had some pasta and the place was busy with locals quite a few having meal. Very glad I did.. the steak penne was excellent. Great value stay.

Stayed at Redwings lodge as we were attending a wedding, the staff were amazing and could not do enough we had two rooms and had a slight issue with one of the tvs, which once pointed out to thre receptionist was rectified imediately. The rooms were basic but spotlessly clean with comfy bed and tea and coffee making facilities. The view from the room window was amazing as we could see accross the country side. We arrived back late from the wedding reception and was greeted by a very friendly hotel staff member who stopped for a chat asking had we enjoyed our evening. The breakfast in the morning was a help your selfe to cereals, toast , orange juice and yogurts which was just what we needed. There is a restaurant which offers full english but we were quite happy with the hotels Freebie. Will definately stay again when we are back in the area and we may bring our pet dog Charlie with us as we found out it is a pet friendly hotel. Basic simple budget hotel with amazing staff and clean comfortable rooms.

Magor represents the very latest addition to the Roadchef motorway services network and is strategically positioned as the very first service area on the M4 in Wales, as you enter from England conveniently situated on M4 on entry to Wales (approx 5 miles after seven bridge), located in service area just off Magor exit roundabout, free parking, WI-FI etc., spacious family rooms.
Good parking, friendly staff, basic amenities good - shower, tv, coffee making facilities in room. Entrance right next to services entrance so easy access to food/ drink 24/7. Room itself was tired and furniture looked old and worn. Ok for an overnight stay.
