Saratoga Springs is one of those special getaway spots where everything is just, well, pretty close to perfect. The city's lovely tree-lined streets and grand old Victorians, porch swings swaying and gardens brimming with colorful flora bring to mind a gentler era. World-class horse racing, renowned performing arts and natural springs spas, plus 13 golf courses, 10 museums, a historic battlefield, fabulous boutiques, antiques and restaurants mean there is something for everyone. Relax at the Lincoln Mineral Baths, window shop in town and then it's off to the races. Walk everywhere, it's that kind of place. One of the oldest tourist destinations in the United States, Saratoga offers ample accommodation choices in elegant hotels, historic bed and breakfasts or comfortable inns. The only drawback is you may never want to leave.

The hotel is a unique old motel that has been updated into a quaint little place to stay in downtown Saratoga Springs. However, they obviously think more of themselves than what they are worth. The room was $240 a night plus a $35 pet fee which we gladly pay to be able to bring our dog. However, for that price I expect coffee in the morning! There is no coffee in the room. Coffee is served in a common area. Apparently, their coffee machine was frozen and they couldn’t figure out how to get coffee. Very disappointing! We ended up going to Stewart’s gas station to get gas and coffee. Tip… they sell coffee by the box. How about getting a couple of coffee boxes there so you can serve coffee to your guests in your overpriced rooms!

The motel is old and some features could use an upgrade, but that is part of its charm. Within walking distance of food and amenities. Very clean room. Worked out perfectly for us. Staff were very helpful. Perfect stay for us. An old motel of a breed that is dying out. We were happy to have found it and were very happy with our choice.

The room was clean and smelled good. There were laminate floors which I really like in a hotel room. The rooms have a cabin look to them. The property was well manicured with a lot of flowers. The bath was quite small but functional. The AC was barely functional. No breakfast was provided. The bed was ok.

Luckily, and thanks to Trip Advisor and the many helpful reviewers out there, my husband was spared 2 nights at this motel on a business trip. Unfortunately, they called him to get his credit card number 2 weeks before his scheduled arrival. Now that we are trying to cancel his reservation they are giving us a run around and saying that they can't cancel it but that we have to cancel it the way it was booked. Since it was through my husband's work and a travel agent did the reservation, we don't even know how it was booked and they wouldn't even try to look it up for us. The employee I talked to reminds me of some of the employees on Hotel Impossible, where the guy trying to help the hotel succeed has to say, "You just aren't supposed to treat customers like that! No wonder your hotel is failing." I would not spend a penny on this dump and beware, don't give them your credit card number. There's a lot of towns a short distance away from Saratoga Springs if the price of the other hotels in the area are scary. Clifton Park is close and has affordable hotels.
