Vermonts Green Mountains are the peaks that gave the 14th state its name. Still largely covered by the verdant forest, the area is a year-round destination, popular with both skiers and hikers. The Long Trail, a wilderness hiking trail, traverses the state, while drivers set a slower pace on Vermonts scenic roads. Quaint towns, such as Stowe and Montgomery, acres of farmed valleys, apple orchards, covered bridges and specialty stores take visitors back in time, and charming inns await.

The Manchester view is a much better value . Your staff was very pleasant and helpful and friendly but with a minor expense on your part the room would be much more safe, especially for older guest and more user friendly

Palmer House Resort, Ascend Hotel Collection is a 4-season resort located in Manchester Center, only a short walk from the bustling center of town. We offer a variety of newly renovated rooms & suites with resort, lake, and/or majestic mountain views. Our new restaurant & bar, Clove + Maple, serves breakfast & dinner daily, and our 15-foot firepit provides the perfect relaxation point for all seasons. During the warmer months, enjoy our 9-hole golf course, two tennis courts, our own stocked trout/Bass pond, and a refreshing swim in our outdoor pool.
I want to write about the beautiful views, the lovely grounds, and the friendly staff- but all I can think about is how horrible the beds were. They have updated so much of the furniture, but the mattress was like a crumbly college dorm mattress which left me with a sore back. It was really awful, and when I asked about transferring to a suite to see if it has a nicer bed they said the mattress was the same in every room. We did enjoy the location and the nice extras like the small golf course. If they upgrade the mattresses we would happily come back. The other downside was the restaurant where our $14 pizza looked like a kid sized grocery store frozen pizza. Definitely skip the restaurant for some of the nicer ones in town.

The Paradise Inn is Bennington’s most unique place to stay. Enveloped in gardens and lawns, the Inn is quiet, secluded, peaceful, yet just five minutes from quaint downtown Bennington by foot, where you’ll find shops and great restaurants, coffee and pizza, a fantastic gym and much more. Our 77 rooms are clean, spacious, and well-maintained, and priced ever-so-reasonably. The prefect lodging for individuals, couples, families, and groups, our rooms come in a variety of sizes, from Suites with patios or decks to comfortable economy rooms with king/queen or double beds. Our pool is solar heated to just the right temperature in the summer and surrounded by a slate-stone patio with many chairs and umbrella covered tables. There's great dining just a minute walk away or in downtown.
Overnight stop on our way north up the coast of Vermont. The Paradise Inn was a no frills hotel with a very large room with 2 queen beds and a small patio. The room was immaculate with a comfortable bed. The only downside was the room had a musty smell that never went away. Nice pool in the back of the hotel.

It's an old motel, but the new owners have cleaned it up well. The rooms are typical of the era, a bit smaller than modern hotels. Bathroom is small, with small shower - no tub. Everything worked well and lots of hot water. It has a nice view. They give you free snacks and bottled water. Clean. Excellent value. Excellent owners/staff. Only two points for improvement. The towels are small and thin. The mattress was too soft. We stayed two nights. We would stay again.

We had a reservation and at the time of the booking we specifically said that we had a pet cat. We were told that was fine. Upon our check-in we were told that they don’t take cats. The motel relented and let us stay. The manager/owner said we had booked on Expedia and they should have told us that the hotels policy was no cats. Clearly the ad for the hotel said Pets. When my husband got up to use the rest room in the middle of the night he hear a gurgling coming from the bathroom. Upon going into the bathroom to take a shower in the the morning, he observed what was fecal matter coming up from the drain in the tub. He dressed and went and got the manager. Upon his arrival the manager cleaned the tub (no gloves) turn and said we were okay. We asked about the shower curtain, was he going to change it out since it had been in the tub and wet. We said we wanted a new room, he said no since we had the cat. He was unwilling to change rooms. He did say he would reverse the charges for our other two nights that we had booked for our stay. Needless to say, our vacation was cut short. There was no I’m sorry, no attempt to make this right. He never even said he would call a plumber.

Set back from the road with two picture window in each of its 22 large rooms, this is a motel with class. Each air conditioned room has TV, free coffee, full, queen or king size beds, many with linens as fine as any upscale inn. Some of the rooms connect. There is a common area with Oriental carpets, antiques and an outdoor deck, overlooking the outdoor pool. Continental breakfast included.
stayed for one night this month. everywhere i looked, there was a problem. the stone walkway in front of our room had huge loose stones- very trippable. the room was very 1960's dated. curtains were held together by a huge clip. there were paint stains and chips every corner of the room and bathroom. the wall paper was coming off on most seams. i was afraid to unpack anything. i kept my shoes on as the carpet looked dirty and had visible stains. this place was very scary and could have been a set for a horror movie. i didn't sleep well.

Econo Lodge isn't my first choice for overnight stays, but I was very happy with my experience here last weekend. Every employee was friendly and helpful. The rooms were small, but clean, well maintained, and had a fridge and microwave. The breakfast was included and had a waffle maker, egg patties, sausage patties, boiled eggs, cereal, fruit, etc. I'd stay there again.
