Just a few miles from the Slovak border in south central Poland, Zakopane is a resort town in the Tatra Mountains, popular with skiers in winter and with hikers and climbers year-round. In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, Zakopane grew into Poland’s most visible art colony, a hotbed of culture ended by Soviet influence after World War II. Today it harkens back to an earlier time, complete with gorgeous wooden houses. Learn about these buildings and more at the Museum of Zakopane Style.

I booked two nights at the Magnat to show my family the sights of Zakopane and wanted something special - Magnat exceeded my expectations and delivered everything a guest could want. From the moment we entered, we were warmly greeted by the amazing hosts/owners and shown to our room. The building is phenomenal inside and out decorated in a stunning mountain-style throughout. We booked the family room and again were blown away with the comfort and style. The balcony offered a peaceful view of the surrounding forest and also mountains! We booked breakfast and we're so glad we did. From fresh bread to a selection of cheese, yogurt and a hot plate with eggs and bacon it was the perfect start. I've stayed many times in Zakopane and always struggle to find the perfect balance of relaxation and location but the Magnat has it all. The hosts have everything right about this place and the service is the best I've experienced living in Poland for 5 years. Keep up the great work both and I can't wait to come back!

I stayed here for two nights. Its not the easiest of places to find, by that i mean when you're driving down the road, you're not really expecting a restaurant front. Also the driveway to the car park at the rear is a little hidden. But bar that, the room was of a very big and good size. The breakfast was ok, plenty of options given the size of the hotel.

Very lovely place. It is next to the skying resort, but we stayed there in the summer season, so it was quite empty, very quite, lovely location, with a gorgeous view trough the windows. rural area, with a few lovely family restaurant's not to far away. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, The room was spacious and very clean and comfortable. The bed was superb, with a lovely balcony access from the room for a quite evening overlooking the mountains and the beautiful outskirts of Zakopane. The breakfast was amazing, huge range, tasty food and coffee well worth paying for. Great place for a reasonable price. Definitely recommended for a very quite stay. Quit a way away from the city center, only accessible with a car or a taxi.

Brak kultury osobistej. Pierwszy i ostatni raz tfffuuu !

Ja mówię no jak to, przecież dzwoniłam do Pani 2 godziny temu.

Absolutely loved this place! Extremely cosy and clean, in the centre but hidden away at the same time. Great place for families with kids as well with a little play area outside. Only reason I didn’t rate 5 stars was because you can hear everything going on in the floor above you, which is to be expected in a wooden house. Overall amazing and would definitely stay again!

First the good news: despite some of the reviews on here and on Booking.com, I found the property to be spotlessly clean, the facilities working and the bed reasonably comfortable. And of course the location is outstanding: a short walk to the park entrance and one of the easiest of the trails, with a bus stop right outside the garden. Even the wi-fi worked well (although for some reason I could connect my laptop but not my iPhone). Sadly, the owner is singularly unhelpful. You can pay only in cash, and he had some trouble finding change for my payment, eventually handing me a sum that was 2PLN short. I did not say anything, but felt this was a little unprofessional. Then, since he speaks only Polish I had a lot of trouble finding out the password for the wi-fi. Again, in my room there was a laminated sheet in Polish that seemed to give practical information and rules, but I could not understand it. And when I asked the owner whether the bus service to the town centre was operating, and if so at what times, he had no interest in even trying to give me this information. (Bus times were printed on the bus stop, but with notes in Polish that seemed to be saying that the buses only operated in the Summer season.) This meant that my hike in the park had to be brief, so that I would have enough time to walk to town if necessary to catch my onward transport. So in the morning I returned from hiking and started packing, and at about 10.30 the owner came to my room and seemed really angry that I was still there! Apparently the check-out time was 10 am (!) and he somehow expected me to know this although he had never tried to tell me. Well, I was obviously on my way out so there was nothing he could do, but that encounter really spoiled my visit and left me determined not to return.
