The southern coast of Western Australia is where the forest meets the sea. It is unique. It is green. It is nature at its best. Tall stands of karri and tingle interspersed with verdant rolling hills sweep down to the most dramatic and picturesque coastline - an idyll providing many natural attractions. It is perhaps the prettiest place in Western Australia.
We stayed at the chimes spa retreat this weekend for our anniversary. When we got there we were greeted by the lovely staff holding an umbrella for us so we could carry our bags in the rain. As soon as we walked in we were inlove with the cosy warm fire ( where they supply free wine in the evenings and the breath taking views (where free breakfast is served each morning) When we walked into our room they had made an anniversary gift for us with flowers, chocolates, a card, and champagne. The staff let us cook a bbq on the deck, supplied us with utensils, and set up a candle lit table for us in the restaurant. The grounds are beautiful and so are the staff. The bed is so comfortable and the spa is wonderful. They have a library where you can take board games and dvds to your room. Only regret is not booking into the day spa! Could not fault and we will be back ASAP.

The Local Hotel was built in 1897 as The Seaview Hotel. This iconic Fremantle landmark offers a selection of boutique rooms styled and curated by a groups of our local friends who live and love South Fremantle. Cosy, comfortable & creaky floorboards all add to the experience of staying in one of Fremantle's more memorable hotels. Only 5 minute walk from soulful South Beach and less than 10 minutes walk to the centre of Fremantle, The Local Hotel also offers a public bar, lounge, whisky bar, restaurant and casual dining areas. Please note: all rooms feature shared bathroom facilities.
nd on each visit we go to The Local. We went today and I will not go back, we walked out. The young lady behind the bar had the customer service of a newt (and that is doing the newt an injustice). My daughter has a mask exemption which she was asked for and showed but because she could not produce her doctors certificate she asked her to wear a mask which she did. She then asked for her vaccination certificate which she duly produced and she then asked for her driving licence......really! Her manner was appalling and whilst she may have been doing her job someone needs to teach her how to speak to a customer. There were three tables of customers in and now I know why. We left and went across the road to Percy Flints, amazing and the miserable youth in The Local needs to go and get a lesson from Lauren who was simply amazing, asked the questions, got the answers, smiled and received a hefty tip for her fabulous service. The sign on the window opposite said a lot about the obvious attitude that is being reflected inside The Local and after Covid I think bars will need to respect that people can talk with their feet.

I cancelled a recent booking due to lockdowns and was very quickly given a credit which I used again a few weeks later with no problems. This is what I would consider more budget accom but felt we definitely got our moneys worth, if not more. Very friendly and helpful staff.....we were those awful guests that wanted extra milk, cutlery for our Uber eats etc etc and the chaps on shift couldnt have been more obliging. We had a family room and it was clean and comfortable, plenty of towels and a hot shower. WIFI was good and things were reasonably quiet. We had an appointment in Fremantle the next morning and made it in approx 15 min in750am traffic. The Hotel is in a commercial area but Im guessing no one is there for long evening strolls!! Only down side was that the cafe ( which was supposed to be open at 530am) was closed. No big drama we just got our coffee in Freo. Would I stay again?? Yes in fact Im booking again next week. Give them a go you.

A luxury glamping experience with welcoming and friendly staff. The tents are spacious, but extremely hot during the day with no fan to provide relief from the heat. The bed was very comfortable and there are plenty of blankets when it becomes quite cold at night. All park exploring is recommended early morning due to the heat, and the only way to stay cool is to sit in the communal lounge and dining area. The evening meal is at a shared table at a set time. The food was good quality, however, we stayed three nights and were served the same meal on the third night as we had on the first which was a little disappointing.

Had to cancel 13 days before we were due to stay due to my husband having a serious medical emergency and we still got charged. Offered proof, which they wanted but still no consideration was given. If it was just a couple of days out I get it….but greedy and unsympathetic much..

We had an evening meal with friends midweek. This old pub has recently been refurbished and is a pleasant change from the loud yubby and trendy bars popping up all over the area. Good choice of beers on tap and a decent wine list. The meal was your usual "pub grub" but done very well. The staff were very cheerful and pleasant. Well worth a visit if you are looking for someplace a bit traditional.

This motel is in need of a good scrub and a paint job. The bathroom was putrid and full of mould, you shouldn’t walk out of the shower feeling dirtier than when you went in. There’s no excuse for a dirty room regardless of it being a budget motel. On the plus side the lady on reception was lovely and the bed was very comfortable but I felt so gross sleeping there. Never again!

For more than a quarter of a century, we have been renowned for our genuine country hospitality,. Superbly located on a peninsula, Bunbury is the gateway to the Southwest. Only 2 hours drive south of Perth and less than an hour to Margaret River, it is the perfect location for a getaway . Clifton Motel & Grittleton Lodge is just minutes stroll from the beach, entertainment center, cinemas and shopping precinct. Clifton Motel & Grittleton Lodge offers rooms of individual style and decor. From our Beautiful Grittleton Lodge ( Adult retreat only Suites ) our Executive suites with spa, to our Standard rooms with 1 Queen & 1 single bed , every guest is offered warm personal service at all times, combined with the highest standards.
My wife and I had occasion to stay one Saturday night. Unfortunately, due to previous guests damaging our room, the king suite we booked was not available. We were offered a no-cost upgrade to a room in the heritage-style Grittleton Lodge which we accepted but, after moving in, it emerged that the air-conditioning was malfunctioning. We were moved to a spa room at the motel. Things may always unavoidably go wrong, but it is how the staff and management deal with the situation that counts. The people at Clifton & Grittleton could not have been more helpful, friendly, and keen to assist. Thanks in particular to Pat and Deb and the owner, who helped make good a potential nightmare. The rooms at the motel are a little dated, but neat, clean, well-appointed, and well maintained. The place is conveniently located a 5-10 minute walk to the centre of town and restaurant strip. Accommodation is reasonably priced, and we have no reservations about staying there again or recommending it to friends while it is under the current management, and I am sure we shall do so.
