This 2-star hotel is nicely situated in the small village of Caldas de Aregos close to the river. Rooms and super clean and good, and sleep quality is also very good. Internet is better than most other laces we went in this region, and staff is very friendly. Only thing I can comment on during our stay was breakfast, which was ok, but not impressive, but good enough to get you going for the day :-) I would definitely stay here another time.

Seguramente a regressar.

Lovely place in small sleepy village..since we wanted realxed holiday with no tourists around:), we liked our two lovely nights at Casa Cardoso. The place is nice&clean, rooms are basic but comfy, the owner is very attentive&welcomed us with tasty home-made dezert and port wine, the price is great!..

O anfitrião é 5 estrelas e o local está muito perto de Lamego ( entr 5 a 10 mon de carro). O alojamento parece uma casa de férias do Algarve... tivemos direito a um upgrade e ficámos no aparthotel com sala e kitchenette.

Heating not working. Freezing night. I’m really uncomfortable with the temperature unfortunately. The place and surroundings are nice. Food was not bad and people are nice too. Just really cold and a thin blanket on my bed

Absolutely agree with the previous review very friendly owners Luis and Zulmira were terrific hosts who when we arrived and asked where we could eat Zulmira even offered to make a meal for us which we declined and drove to a restaurant in Armamar. We also did not mind the hard beds and the room was a nice size with a small balcony and the shower was hot. Yes it is out of the way but well worth a stay, and thank you Luis for the bowlful of home grown cherries.

Rural Tourism, in form of Countryside Houses. Set of houses with common and reserved outdoor spaces. Rural and quiet atmosphere, marked by granite walls and combined with modern architecture. The houses are divided into apartments with three typologies: T1 (one bedroom), T2 (2 bedrooms) and T4 (4 bedrooms). In T4 there are rooms that can be rented separately. Ideal to spend a few quiet days in contact with nature, enjoy outdoor activities and sports, as well as visit the monuments and typical villages of the region.
Very, very quiet and remote bed and breakfast. A little hard to find coming from Aveiro. Be sure to speak with owner prior to traveling and get detailed directions or better yet have access to a good GPS device. Great rooms and good breakfast. We needed to drive about 10 minutes to a restaurant for dinner. Be very aware that area is quite remote. Be prepared to commune with nature. Persons visiting here need to be comfortable with profound quiet.

Perfect place to turn off the mind. It is super cozy, it has great conditions and the staff is very nice and helpful. Excellent view from the room and from the entire place. As a suggestion, if you want to spend the whole day in the house, you should bring with you snacks/food because you will only have breakfast and all the food places are +- 30 min away - for me, this is the only cons: I would appreciate having some food options.

If you are interested in a more rustic, rural experience in northern Portugal, Casa Do Arco is perfect. My family of 7 had a wonderful stay. The traditional style houses have been nicely renovated to appeal to modern tastes. The town is pictoresque in the middle of the valley. The host Joaquim was accommodating and easy to correspond with in preparation for our trip. The only issues are that it can be a bit noisy at night (e.g. dogs barking, people talking late at night). If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. Also some of the mattresses were uncomfortable. So overall, some of us didn't sleep well, but otherwise had a great experience.
