Its a nice apartment but not worth the stay here with all the crazy rules. You can’t use certain facilities such as the gym unless you have a “long stay”, whatever that means. They charged me a late checkout fee when I was simply waiting for a callback to see if I could use that gym. The blonde woman at the front desk was quite rude and impatient with me. In addition, getting into the building is such a hassle with constant having to confirm information. Its too strict and uncomfortable. Lastly, the beach in front was the ugliest of the city - brown and full of algae. I wouldn’t come back here.

CASA DE CAMPO, located in Mill Angicos, is in the family for 300 years, and welcomes guests as guests. It features personalized service and a few suites, all with air, TV, fridge, and balcony with hammock. Here the preservation of the environment, culture and history are in the first place. Pool, sauna, massage room and Jacuzzi, carriage rides, horseback riding and stick-to-rack, the pavement at sunset to the sound of sax, the source of mineral water and tobolama; tobomorro; fishery, Tyrolean, trails, tennis courts, bocce ball, sand volleyball, football and more!

I'd actually call this a hotel, not a specialty inn, but in any case, we'd definitely return here. Wonderful people. I was particularly thankful for the young girl who jumped in her motorbike to lead us to the only florist in town! Then when it looked like the florist was closed she insisted on finding the owner! Breakfast included, but nothing to write home about...

This pousada is basic accomodations, yet charming, and they've decorated it in the style of an old farmhouse, and the small staff is very helpful. One cannot compare it to a large city hotel or pousada, as Monteiro is a quiet, small town, the type in which you feel safe walking around day or night.
