Commonly called “blessed by God” by locals, Rio de Janeiro is nestled between world famous beaches and beautiful mountains, and presided over by the statue of Christ the Redeemer. Its nickname of “Marvellous City” is easy to understand after seeing all this buzzing city has to offer. There are attractions that cater to any style - everything from visiting historical landmarks and important cultural centres to relaxing on the beach to enjoying the great nightlife scene. Neighbourhoods like Ipanema, Urca, Botafogo, Santa Teresa and Rio’s downtown will always have a way to surprise you. As a special treat, go to Arpoador to watch the sun set and take part in the local custom applauding the sun, thanking it for another stunning day in Rio de Janeiro.

Ive stayed in the basic room but I didn't expect it to be so small. The bed was big, but the room smelled of cigarettes. The Cable TV didn't work, always said the signal was bad. The bathroom is small and I found used bath soap laying around. I complained and they promised to clean the room, only to find out that the cleaning service is working once a week during the pandemic. The breakfast was really basic (which I understand as we are in a coronavirus pandemic and things are simpler) but the coffee was just ok (drinkable). The service knocked on my door twice one night trying to deliver somebody else's meal. Overall if I had personally payed for the room I wouldn't stay. However, I didn't have an option because it was a critical business trip and it was the nearest hotel next to the client.

7 nights during paralympic games. The hotel staff were very helpful (they were particularly patient with my poor Portuguese language skills). The room was basic, but very clean. There was a fridge in the room which was handy and air conditioning. The room was very dark as the window was facing directly onto a wall (so much so that you couldn't tell that it was daylight outside), but I didn't have any issue with this (I'm in the room to sleep only!). Breakfast was really nice. Simple - fruit (3 or 4 pieces), bread, ham & cheese - and with really excellent coffee. It's served to your room as there is no dining room/restaurant - I'm not used to taking breakfast like this, but actually I enjoyed doing it this way. There is good WIFI. The hotel is 5 minutes from Copacabana beach and about 5 minutes from Siquera Campos metro station. Excellent value. I suppose the hotel felt a bit dated - but I found it authentic and charming.

You get a free breakfast with fruits, eggs and everything you need, air conditioning, tv, own bathroom, fridge, perfect for the price. Close to the beach, friendly staff, couldn't reccommend a better place to stay and perfectly comfortable and at peace to work from laptop.

I recommend this quiet boutique hotel in the heart of Santa Teresa. Spacious rooms, excellent service and tastefully decorated. Near to great restaurants and bars.. Good for those that like to explore by foot and sleep in luxury.
