This was one of the Hotel and Restaurant selected for my tour operator for my first CAMINO DE SANTIAGO, it was one beautiful experience, the breakfast complete and perfect for the long day, the service very friendly and all the facilities clean and as expected.

This was the first time I have ever been to Pontenova and I automatically fell in love with the town, especially the hotel. It's timeless architecture and the amazing Maria & Juan made this experience unforgettable. They had a lot of knowledge about the history of the property and showed us old collected relics and their pristine mini chapel they have on site. Their property is surrounded by kiwi and apple trees, grapes and berries. For an additional cost, Maria and Juan will cook a delicious fresh meal for you. They even make their own jams that they sell!! I bought their berry and apricot jam and it was to die for. They even took us on a tour of the city where we met amazing locals, who they trade fresh food with. I had the honor of meeting Rogelia, a beautiful witty woman who lives just a few miles from the hotel. Considering its just the two of them running this mansion, Maria & Juan were incredibly attentive and catered to all of our needs, without hesitation. The rooms themselves, were epic and beautifully decorated. Each room is very clean and has fantastic views of the charming little city. The Jacuzzi was my favorite part! If you want to feel at peace and away from a frantic busy city, A Casa do Retratista is the place to come. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning. Thank you so much for everything, Maria and Juan. You guys were wonderful to me!

Very nice and exceptional place with a friendly people. Our apartment was spacious, very clean and nicely furnitured. We had a tasty breakfast with gluten free meal on request. There is Restaurant Casa Antonio not so far from this place, where we had the best dinner in Spain.

This pension is easy to find, just one street back from the main area of activity in the town. Although close by the cafes and bars, it was a very nice and quiet location. The rooms were a good size and were very clean, if a bit basic. Plenty of hot water but we found the shower cubicle to be very small for big guys. Breakfast was good although no choice offered to us, it was a take it or leave it option. Staff were friendly enough and helpful. Portomarin is a lovely wee town and the people were very friendly. Plenty of choice for eating places nearby.

What an amazing hotel. We arrived via the back entrance off a tiny dirt track - and the owner came out to help us find the route around to the front entrance (don't trust Windows or TomTom navigation) - and from the outset of coming to find us in the rain, to cooking our dinner - just for us - to watching football on TV with us in the evening, we were made to feel as welcome as if we were in our own homes. The hotel itself is absolutelly beautiful - very very recently refitted, clean and comfortable, with lovely interior design. We had dinner, which was by far the best meal we've had on our trip so far, and the wine recommended was glorious, whilst one of the owners played with our baby daughter to give us 5 minutes of peace. Breakfast in the restaurant (a short walk uphill or a shorter drive) was authentic and extremely tasty, I was full for hours! My other half very much enjoyed the coffee too. And again, the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I can't speak highly enough of our experience, particularly at the price. If you're looking for a peaceful countryside hotel experience, look no further, you've found the answer. If I were to give any feedback, I'd say they could do with another accessible plug socket in the room, and signs at the back for when people have sat nav issues! But this isn't going to detract from a perfect score. If we're ever in the area, we're going straight back!

Traditional country house in Ribeira Sacra, Galicia. Recently decorated looking for the confort of our guests. Heating, TV, WiFi in all the rooms. The restaurant serves homemade food cooked with local products.
Soco and her husband are amazing. They have truly made a Spain rural tourism environment a whole new experience. They even woke up early to prepare us breakfast because our tour started 1 hr before normal serving hours. Pintoresque house and warm welcome with a tea at midnight after long driving/
