The drive up was bumpy, but that was expected as most of the road isn't completely sealed. They make amazing coffee and yummy muffins. Beautiful view over Mt Hagen and they also had goats nearby. Didn't get to stay overnight as it was a work-related visit but would definitely like to do so in the future.

Before we even arrived at Ulumani, Warren was so helpful with logistics and answered our questions promply and gave us the information we needed. Warren picked my family and I up from Alotau and took us across the bay in his boat, accompanied by his lovely daughter Dali Delsie. On arrival at Wagga Wagga, Warren took us on a walk to look at the village school and the 200 year old rain tree, before taking us up to Treetops. We stayed in the cottage at the top of the hill, which was a perfect size for our family (two adults and two children aged 14 and 11). The view from the verandah, looking across the bay to Alotau was stunning and having the choice of being able to cook in the self contained kitchen was great. Treetops grounds are stunning and well kept. Our daughters spent a lot of time outside, playing on the grass with the friends they made in Warren's family. The rainforest surrounding Ulumani Treetops is a wonderful place to go for a walk and there are opportunities for birding. Warren also took us on a trip to see the Raggiana bird of Paradise. Each day we opted to have dinner (you can have all three meals if you chose), which was cooked by Waren's sister Lilly and his wife Cathy. We throughly enjoyed the meals, which were mainly local produce and traditional Papua New Guinean food. We did a few trips, our first being snorkelling down in Wagawaga and snorkelling at the ship wreck. We managed to spot a seahorse close to the shore and lots of fish on the wreck. The wreck was an interesting place to snorkel after reading about the history of the wreck, displayed on the cottage wall. After swimming and snorkelling there was a chance to wash off at a fresh water stream where we also met a friendly eel. We visited several coral reefs to snorkel, where the visibility was clear and the coral was colourful and vibrant with different a range of sea creatures. We felt we could have stayed on and on at Ulumani Treetops, as it's such a relaxing place and Warren and his family, made us feel at home. We throroughly recommend this destination and lodge for a wonderful Papua New Guinean experience. We can't say enough for the effort Warren and his family made to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, from bringing us fresh fruit daily to ensuring our excursions were memorable experiences. We learnt a lot from Warren and his family about the local culture and the family involved our girls in a traditional sing sing (dance). We left Ulumani Treestops, feeling that we'd had an experience of a lifetime and that we were leaving behind family. We hope one day to return.

Nuli Sapi has four bush material bungalows set on poles over a tidal inlet. Each bungalow has a verandah with spectacular views which can also be enjoyed from the comfort of your queen size bed. All bungalows have an ensuite bathroom with ambient water shower. Our licensed on site restaurant features local produce with an emphasis on seafood. Please let us know of specific dietary requirements. The bar has a range of PNG beers and spirits as well as a small selection of imported wine and spirits.
We had an amazing 4 nights of stay; the scenic views from dusk till dawn, the exceptional food and most of all, the hospitable and warm people who always made sure we felt at home. I adore this place!

We brought our group here for a week and Pym was most hospitable and organised amazing birdwatching with Paul. Comfortable enough and excellent food, nice local walks including up the mountain itself and a mumu in Pym's village

Sogeri lodge was a great place to stay before and after completing the trail. Although not fancy, it was all we needed. The rooms were clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The bathrooms were a good size and again very clean. The communal areas were great and plentiful. There's an air-conditioned conference room which was good for pre and post briefings, a reception area with comfortable seats to nervously talk to people before starting the trek the next day, and outdoor and indoor eating areas with plenty of space for everyone. The deck area had some comfortable seating and heaps of tables and chairs which were great for the final night as we played mafia and other card games and talk to the late hours of the night after a difficult ten days. The area was very beautiful and there were multiple bird cages with a lovely talkative cockatoo and other birds. They were all looked after very well. Sogeri also did a great job of cleaning our gear after returning from our trek. The dinner and breakfast at the lodge were also awesome, with a great range of foods both meals. The drinks selection at the bar was great, and they had a great range of non-alcoholic drinks too. For what we needed, Sogeri Lodge exceeded that, and that's also what makes Adventure Kokoda so good.

During my stay in PNG, I stayed Kimininga for the longest and enjoyed my stay pretty much. It is like cottage and there are man kinds of rooms. I had twin room on the ground level. It is spacy and bathroom is good too. I didn't have issue of hot water shower although it was rather warm, not hot. Said that it is good enogh to take shower. Hangers, closet, towels, TV and mini fridge are provied. My memory is a bit vague but I don't think there is AC. Electricity was stable, there was no black out. I had no issue to recharge batteries. Amenity-wise, isoap only in the bathroom. Complimentary coffee & tea is provided. Electric kettle is also prepared in the room. If you want to have instant noodle or cup soup, you can have it in your room, which is nice. There are restaurant and bar at Hotel Kimininga. One night, bar was closed, though. Restaurant is very good. Menu selection is big. When I asked to make smaller portion, they kindly cooked smaller dish with cheaper price. You should remember that every dish in PNG is ridiculously huge. I usually shared a main dish with another group member. There is wi-fi here but do not expect speedy wi-fi. I didn't use it at all. Security is good. There is iron gate facing to the main road. When I wanted to try local eatery outside of hotel, hotel staff kindly took me one of eatery by car, it is actually close to hotel but if you have to walk, it is not super close to hotel. All staf here is very firendly.
