Safari Desert Camp is a permanent Bedouin style camp which was opened in September 2008. It is located in a remote, quiet desert landscape of the Wahiba Sands, 25km away from Al-Ghabbi, in the city of Bidiyah. Forty challets are widely scattered on the sands, and each are well equipped with authentic carpets, luxury beds and bedding and much more. For our guests' comfort, we use our own 4wd and highly trained camels ensuring complete reliability.
This is a wonderful hotel with full amenities in the desert. My room was a stand alone building with an outdoor shower and toilet that had the most amazing view of stars at night. Best bathroom ever. The food is great and plentiful for both breakfast and dinner. The grounds are clean and well kept. Very lovely location.

The camp is about 12 km from the main road, across along a sandy track , better known as a desert ! A 4x4 is definitely recommended top save getting stuck. The villas a individually spread out around the camp with a central restaurant. The signage from the main road & along the track could have been better. Included was a ride to the top of a nearby dune to watch the sunset. Also included was a camel ride. The dinner & breakfast were excellent, but beware of the extortionate cost of drinks, although there was some bottled water in the tented villa, for dinner I asked for 2 small sparkling waters and was charged £10 ! The villa was large & comfortable.

Bait Bimah is a nepali-style mountain lodge, in the heart of Oman mountains. Located in Wadi Bani Awf, at the entrance of the Snake Canyon, it is a perfect base for outdoor activities: from the mountain hut, you can go hiking or canyoning, and a few kilometers away, "La Gorgette" is a well-known climbing spot. It is rustic but delightfull : it is designed for nature lovers... We have 6 rooms: 3 dormitories (7, 8, and 13 beds) and 3 private rooms (3 beds each). Prices including dinner and breakfast : - Place in dormitory Room : 20 OMR - Private room for a single person : 40 OMR - Private room for 2 persons : 50 OMR - Private room for 3 persons : 65 OMR
On the plus side, Bait Bimah is in a beautiful location with friendly helpful staff. We didn't find anywhere else in Oman where we could stay in a rustic lodge in the middle of the countryside like this . The outside sitting area is very pretty. Everything is very clean. There are lots of uneven steps and you have to find the bathrooms at night so I wouldn't recommend this for anyone with mobility issues. Even if you don't opt for the canyoning you can safely scramble a good way up the bottom of the gorge from Zammah, providing you don't mind wet feet. We spent about three hours messing around including some beautiful secluded bathing - we saw noone else all morning. It was one of the most beautiful places we found in Oman. However we did find it a bit basic for the price, even by Omani standards. All the other guests when we were there were middle aged couples like us. I would hesitate to recommend to many of my friends because it really was a bit basic - very much hostel standard. It was frustrating because I think Bait Bimah could be much more attractive, without losing rustic authenticity, with minimal investment. THe first and cheapest thing I'd do is changing the lighting in the rooms from the glaring functional fluorescent strips and paint the rooms a softer colour. As most guests seem to be couples, it would be nice to have less functional beds which can be pushed together to form a double. The rooms could be dressed better with nice pictures and/or artefacts. Spending a bit more, I would replace the metal doors with wooden ones (and it would be nice if you could lock them - at the moment you can't unless you have your own padlock. It's not really necessary and I didn't mind but my fussier friends would make a fuss about that). The bathrooms could be less spartan. It would be easy to provide shelves or hooks to put your towel and dry clothes which you shower. The food was the usual Omani fare, tasty basic and predictable. We stayed two nights and had exactly the same each dinner and breakfast. If you had two menus, you could at least vary alternate nights. If you did this, I'd then say Bait Bimah was good value for the price. Having said all this, I would stay at Bait Bimah again and would recommend to my hardier friends - just because it is such a lovely relaxing place.

Stopped here on journey back from Salalah. The hotel is on the south bound lane of highway 31 and adjacent to a small restaurant, coffee shop and petrol station but otherwise set about 2 km from the main shops and restaurants on the opposite side. Booked in with Imran the receptionist who kindly showed us the room first and said it was 20 rials but without being asked he dropped it to 15.Very quiet, clean towels and sheets. WiFi worked but slow. TV, aircon, fridge, shower. A very comfortable nights sleep was had in room 103

Relaxed and unpretentious guesthouse with 15 rooms with 5 double rooms and 10 single rooms, the 15 rooms are laid in 3 villas 5 room per villas and 2 shared bathrooms per villas. Swimming pool, stone built meal area, free wifi. The meals are prepared by our cook and supervised by Sylviane the owners business great and tasty comfort food which is one of the great highlights for many guests.
Even having stayed in one of the chalets I would still describe this place as a backpacker joint for divers- but not with backpacker prices! We had issues with mosquitos (they don't have nets) and a bad odor in the bathroom/toilet. But the water was always hot and the aircon always cool. The food was pretty good. There is a dining area where people hang out but it's not that comfortable in my opinion (benches as opposed to tables and/couches). We met some really cool people there. The staff were super friendly and although at the time I was there they were over worked due to recent staff departures they did their absolute best to take care of us.

Super relax accommodation on one of the most beautiful places of Oman! The view from the terrace is fantastic! Silent place to get some rest with these very hospitable staff. Good traditional food, try the Omani bread with Omani pancakes and homemade date syrup! Take the opportunity to join the tour with the owner in the morning and see his museum, get around in the village, hear the stories of the family and his plans for the future. Rooms are basic, but traditional, that is nice. Bathrooms are shared, these are basic and ok.

The hotel rooms are basic but clean and spacious , and the location was fine for our business trip. The real discovery was their food!!! Omani and arab food with incredible taste and well presented. Every plate was an enjoyment and chicken in several diferent recipes was nearly perfect. Adding to this the selection of drinks is international . Restaurant service was outstanding and Omani attention to customer needs is one of the best I have had.
