I have been staying here, during ski season, for 4 years. The room furnishings are VERY dated. But where else do you get HBO,in room coffee service, refer, bath accessories, free WiFi and microwave. This year they put in new towels and sheets. Ed, the proprinter, is trying to slowly upgrade and repair the rooms. He has a way to go but he is trying. This is a basic motel with a good location. I recommend CB Pizza next to motel for a reasonable priced good meal.

Old Greenwood is a vibrant four-season resort, set amidst an award-winning Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. Nestled on 600 pine-studded acres, Old Greenwood offers mountain living at its finest, with two to four-bedroom villas, cabins and town homes, and custom estate homes. Each property includes a chef's kitchen with slab granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, great room with natural stone fireplace, two-car garage, private deck showcasing golf and mountain views. Some residences also have a loft with billiard table and private hot tub. At the center of this community is Old Greenwood Pavilion, featuring a fitness center, tennis courts, family and adult swimming pools, kid's water park and slide, basketball and bocce courts, a game room, spa, Bearfoot Bar & Grill and more. In the winter enjoy complimentary shuttle service throughout the day to Northstar California.
I may have just been on business travel, but it felt like I was on a mini vacation. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful place and staying in one of the Cabins. I will be back with my family. Thank you for the hospitality!

Loch Leven Lodge is an elegant, rustic lodge offering lakefront accommodations in a relaxed mountain setting. Guests of the eight room lodge enjoy scenic views of Donner Lake from their rooms, or while soaking in the lakefront hot tub. The lodge's 5,000 square foot redwood deck provides a place relax, fish and swim.
Considering our visit was amidst the Pandemic, it was still enjoyable! The lodge is old; don't expect modern amenities. The view of the lake from the deck made up for the small bathroom and older decor.

Manager Bryan expertly navigates daily operations and even operates the shuttle to Alpine Meadows. My family had a wonderful ski vacation meeting interesting guests and enjoying delicious fresh meals at the Chalet. We would go back again, if it were not closing next month. Thanks, Bryan, for everything.

The Tahoe Vista Lodge & Cabins are located one mile west of the Rustic Cottages. Originally the Burrough's Resort built between 1943 and 1947 by Preston McKinley Burrroghs, this property has had many names and owners over the years. The resort was saved from the wrecking ball February 2002. All of the interiors have been refurbished and have private bathrooms, full kitchens, coffeemakers, televisions with HBO and video tape/DVD players, and of course, Benicia iron beds with nice linens. Although not all of the rooms are freestanding cabins, the property and rooms are overall larger than The Rustic Cottages, with choices of cabins, duplex cabins, and suites. The Tahoe Vista Lodge also has a swimming pool, along with beach access.
Great location, rustic feel, cool old pictures. Some idiot forgot to put the chain on the garage after tossing their garbage out and the bear went on a frenzy. Kept us up all night with banging of the lid. Employees didn’t were masks during our stay, so we didn’t eat the free breakfast. It’s no wonder California has a huge covid problem. Nice little private beach access across the street. If rustic is what you want, you got it. When I mentioned the bear, management sent me a dumb e mail. Not a class act.

The River Ranch is a cozy restaurant and lodge with 19 rooms and a restaurant and bar over the river perfect for all seasons with a cozy bar for apres ski in the winter and close proximity to world class skiing. Lively patio bar and grill in the summertime with rafting and biking at it's door. **Please check ADA room availability as rooms are limited.
We came here after coming down the river and we got nachos, chicken fingers, salads and drinks to share amongst all of us. The view is great. Service is at the bar but the teenagers all seem to wish they were somewhere else - friendly service can go a long way. That said: nachos were great very big and tasty, the chicken on the salad was incredibly DRY, chicken fingers and fries good. Unlimited drinks which kids love. Would come here again but avoid anything with chicken.

Clair Tappaan Lodge is a hostel-style mountain lodge nestled in the Sierra Nevada of California at the top of Donner Pass. Built by Sierra Club volunteers in the 1930s, the lodge is an excellent home base for year-round recreation. The friendly, casual atmosphere and affordable nightly rates (including family-style meals) make the Lodge the perfect rustic getaway to the Tahoe/Donner area. Please note, hostel-style means guests bring their own bedding, towels, and assist with kitchen chores daily.
Pros: staff was friendly, food was decent (nothing gourmet, but quite edible), hot tub was a good temperature AND INDOORS and location is very close to Sugar Bowl Ski Resort. Cons: LONG walk from parking to lodge; bright red exit sign in room and FREEZING cold temperature in the "dorm room" kept me from getting almost any sleep. Maybe would consider returning in the summer, but never again in the winter unless they drastically change their heating system.

The newly renovated North Lake Lodges & Villas is hidden in plain sight just off the main drag in Incline Village. This property offers a variety of room sizes from Lodge studios that sleep two people, Lodge one bedrooms that sleep four, and our beautiful Villas that accommodate up to eight. This quiet resort offers our guests the ability to utilize the fabulous private beaches at Incline that offer our guests an impressive glimpse at what it means to live in Tahoe. This is the place to be if you are looking to explore the Lake or take in some world class skiing. Diamond Peak is the closest skiing venue to the property and is only a couple of short miles away and offers the very best views of Tahoe compared to any other ski resort at the Lake. We offer an outdoor hot tub that is open year round and if you’re lucky enough to be staying in a Villa, you will also have your own Jacuzzi in your private loft.
Extremely dissatisfied with the stay, including customer service. Was not able to sleep in the living room due to sofa bed, mattress needs to be changed. TV did not work. No garbage bags provided to change garbage. Service desk stated no one available to assist. Called to share my experience, customer service stated someone will call back to discuss, no one called back, it has been 3 weeks. Will never stay there again, what a wait of money!

I stayed for several months and was very pleased with it. Owners are great, it's kept very clean, micro and nice-size fridge/freezer in the room, nice comfortable bed. Room decorated in rustic style. Several restaurants and grocery store nearby. Near the stat park and beach. I would definitely stay there again.

Sadly, this place needs a lot of work. Is run down. We walked up a very narrow stairway to our room. Very odd shape. Horrible smell. Bathroom ceiling was set at an angle making it difficult to apply makeup. We ended up leaving and going to a nearby hotel. Very sad.
