A holiday in Norfolk is not a glamorous break. While the Norfolk Broads of East Anglia are a beautiful part of the UK, they represent a relaxing rural getaway rather than a high-powered city-break. Although its reputation is mostly rural, with people associating the county mostly with the wetlands of the Norfolk Broads, there are also towns such as Norwich and King's Lynn to visit, both of which provide shopping opportunities, nightlife and entertainment. Norfolk also contains a large stretch of coastline, and seaside destinations such as Cromer and Great Yearmouth mean there are great beaches to be found as well. Many areas of the Norfolk Broads and the coastal region are sites of outstanding natural beauty, and are also protected as bird reserves, so take a pair of binoculars on holiday. There are also popular wildlife attractions such as Banham Zoo, with a great collection of big cats, and Great Yarmouth's Sea Life Centre, one of the biggest of its kind in the country, complete with tropical sharks and conger eels. And of course, if any of your family are interested in boating, you'll need to rent a boat and explore the waterways of the Broads themselves!

Nice room and nice staff with a very safe entry way. Simple enough to find and the rooms felt private. Plenty of typical amenitites with free wifi, towels, wardrobe, desk, I guess lamps and of course a bed.

1 X Family, 1 X Double All With En-suite, Colour Tv's And Tea/coffee Making Facilities.
I cannot recommend this wonderful place to stay enough. If I could of given 6 stars I would have. The room and bathroom was spotlessly clean, tea/coffee/biscuits were provided along with shampoo etc. The bed was so comfy, warm room but you can control radiators. Views beautiful and the owners Jane and Damion cannot do enough for you. We asked for a specific breakfast and evening meal and it was no problem at all. The food was amazing snd I’m a foodie. There are dogs here but that really is not an issue at all and I’m not dog person but if you are you can bring your babies. I would not hesitate in visiting this special wonderful holiday venue again. Room, food, customer service YES YES YES in buckets. If you want a place to stay look no further.

Barry was a lovely landlord couldn’t do enough for you, the locals were fantastic. Huge carpark and spotless toilets, if you needed a shower Barry had a shower room you could use all for free. shame Barry didn’t do food but at 80 years old who would. Highly recommend we will be back

We were more than happy with the facilities and the breakfast provided in each “unit”I actually much preferred this set up to a traditional b & b hotel. Very spacious, everything you needed. Not much in the way of human interaction or information, maybe a little note in room to state what to do in check out, taxi numbers, how to use coffee machine etc… Also it would be nice to see a shampoo/ body wash in shower even if on a refill system so people don’t just take the travel sizes. Not much in the way of parking and not quite as the pictures portray, however for the price for one night it suited our needs. If we are planning a night out in Norwich we would happily use again. Also barman must have been on his first shift, but very friendly and helpful even if he wasn’t totally aware of the process.

Staying for just one night, Nicola (the owner) met us and explained the lay out and what was nearby. The yurt is set in the entrance to some woodland, which is filled with all sorts of wildlife. Only two yurts are on site, and both have some seating and external lighting outside. The yurts are spacious inside, clean and the bed is comfortable. There is a wood burner, kettle, toaster and access to your own toilet/shower which is situated in a block nearby. An ideal little stay and retreat away from the world.

Wonderful little find for a few days away. Very peaceful spot, you do need a car but plenty of places within a drive away for walks and historical significance. The property was immaculate and we both had the best night sleep in the super comfy bed. Lovely friendly dog on site and horses and sheep to walk to on the small holding. Very welcoming friendly hosts, we would definitely recommend.

Diss By Verve is a recently refurbished 17th Century coaching inn, which has retained many of its original features including the hand carved staircase and the original hand painted sundial. The bar boasts two magnificent fireplaces which are reputedly the largest in East Anglia. The Inn has two function rooms for conferences, celebrations and weddings. Dine in our 5 Star Restaurant with extensive menu choices using only the best of local fresh produce cooked to order. Alternatively our lounge and Public Bar offer a menu with a more informal surrounding, with beautiful real log fires.
My partner and I recently returned from a 3 night stay at the Diss by Verve. On arrival all seemed well. We were fully aware that this is a historic building, therefore completely expected the building to possess plenty of structural character. Walking into the reception area, we found a young guy behind the desk who greeted us politely. He ran through the usual Hotel arrival information. As our room also came with Breakfast, he informed us that breakfast was served between 7.30am-9.30am. We were also asked to book our table before 5.30pm, if we wished to dine in the Restaurant in the evenings. After this we were handed the biggest key I have ever seen, and directed to our room, EMMAS ROOM, on the first floor. The stairs are clearly one of the many features of the building that date back some time, if not right back to 1655 when it was built. Although they are beautiful, they are also somewhat of a challenge. The majority of the treads are half the height of modern stair treads, and each one slopes and twists in its own direction. This was then accompanied by the equally uneven floor of the entire first floor hallway. Although we giggled all the way to our room, we respected the age and Historic qualities of the building, it did fill more like a fairground crooked house than a hotel. Once we finally got into our room - Superior Double Room - we soon realised that the stairs and the hallway floors were relatively flat in comparison. The floor was so sloped in places that not one piece of furniture sat level. It turned out that I couldn’t even put a drink down on any of the surfaces without propping something against it to stop it sliding off. This isn’t even an exaggeration. We were a little disappointed that the room we were staying in didn’t have a fridge but that’s one of those things. I must say though, the bed was actually very comfortable. The en-suite was pretty standard but unfortunately the shower water pressure was horrendous! At 6ft tall, I struggled to get the shower head high enough to get under it. This wouldn’t have been too much of an issue if the water came out with a little more pressure. My partner found that this wasn’t even suffice to wash the shampoo out of her hair properly, instead having to use a cup filled from the tap. The TV was quite something. I totally appreciate that space is limited, neither were we planning on watching much TV during our stay, but it was so small that we could barely see it from the bed. The TV remote was actually out of range when sitting on the bed. The food was pretty mediocre. Understandably, I appreciate for a hotel in such a location, with little custom other than that of it’s guests, the choices would be limited. We were a little disappointed, when we went down for breakfast at 9am on our first morning, to find out that breakfast actually ends at 9am and not at 9.30am like we weee told on arrival. This meant we had to go out and find somewhere else to have breakfast instead. The staff on the other hand were all very friendly and often asked us if we needed anything. It turned out that our room only had one key therefore our room couldn’t be cleaned or replenished without us asking them to do so.
