Our hotel is located in the heart of the city, 10mn drive to the aeroport and 15 mn to the beach. all the main business centers are aroud the hotel within 15 mn walking distance.
Excellent service, but a below average product and restaurant
Reviewed By iamquintinThis is Nouakchott. If you're hoping for a Hilton, change your hopes. They say, expectation is the mother of all disappointments. Don't expect, and you will just be a happier person, especially here in Nouakchott. The room was quite large, had a tinted window into a strange inside walled patio area. The bathroom had a toilet that felt it would fall over if you sit on it. The shower was a sprinkler against the wall next to the toilet, that you don't want to bump into because it might fall over and who knows what will happen then. The room had quite a few open wall fittings, some with wires coming out. I checked if there were any open cables close to the shower, just to be sure. The restaurant does not look like much, and, really it is not much. I tried to have dinner at the hotel restaurant the first night, but twice I was informed that they do not have the dish available (after some 10-15 minutes). It's really should not be that difficult. I tried to eat from the breakfast buffet twice, but both days almost all of the food was finished. The hotel manager/owner is super nice and accommodating. This is also reflected by his staff. All of the staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Great job. The surrounding area, well, is the surrounding area. You know you're not going to Las Vegas. No alcohol is served anywhere, neither in the hotel. Will I use the same hotel, if I go back? I think so. Will I go back to the city? only if I have to.

Excellent value for money and guest service
Reviewed By ad0naihOuadane is a beautiful stop during a desert trip across Mauritania. Surrounded by a lush oasis and right in front of the old town and with great views to it, the Auberge Vasque is the perfect place to stay during the visit. Mme Zaida is also a great host and her staff are always striving to give guests the best service. Rooms are clean and food in excellent. Great value for money. I will certainly stay again with them went I return.

Reviewed By mokmailSheikh is erg hulpvaardig en doet erg zijn best om het leuk te maken. Indien gewenst maakt hij ook eten klaar of geeft graag advies over de regio. Op het eigen terrein kan er ook geparkeerd worden, zeker aan te bevelen plek voor overlanders.

Quite a crappy place, but wonderful friendly service
Reviewed By FrenchTraveller001It seems that cleanliness is a word they have never heard about in this property... They push dirt/sand from one place to another with a broom. Paint is falling down from the walls, the toilet seat in my room was so dirty that I needed to clean it myself with a sanitizing towel before using it -and the towel was brownish after my cleaning operation. Furthermore, the common fridge in the dining area is so dirty inside that it seems not to have been ever cleaned since it was purchased. However, I did not rate this property too badly because the staff are genuinely kind, caring and helpful. This fortunately makes it up for all the inconvenience of this property, such as for instance cutting tap water in the rooms when they water the plants or very noisy -yet effective- A/C! I received one of the best hospitality services in Mauritania in a one star hotel such as this one.

Auberge awkar, beware
Reviewed By Guy LBroken beds, AC doesn't work,family live in part of hotel and owner treats everyone as if they are staying in his home and he's fed up with them. He's rude to his staff. Worst of all for me was the dog tied up all day. I have been here before. This last time i was an invited guest to look into renting the auberge to help turn it around as it has changed location and is struggling to get clientele. Its a good location and rooms are pretty well done but I quickly realised the main problem: the owner. Indeed, when he realised I wasn't going to invest anymore money or time trying to convince him, he threatened me, tried to charge me extortionate rates for the room and for food of already paid for. All in all a grim stay.

Günstiges sauberes und zentrales Hotel
Reviewed By gabilinda001Dieses Hotel ist sauber, verfügt über sehr große Zimmer, Restaurant empfehlenswert. Einfach eingerichtet, aber insgesamt gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Restaurant ist gut. Leichte Mängel wurden umgehend behoben. Klimaanlage hat gut funktioniert, befindet sich in der gleichen Straße wie die deutsche Botschaft

Reviewed By Goya BThe rooms are spacious, as are the bathrooms. It is quite clean, there's free wifi in the hall and the rooms, a satellite television which I didn't try and there's a breakfast. But don't expect any more luxury or a real soft bed. Anyway, you mostly get what you pay for, and I payed 30 € per night...
