This former British colonial stronghold boasts evidence of over two millennia of habitation, with ornate, architecturally diverse buildings, ranging from crumbing ruins to Victorian treasures. Home to lively festivals and a vibrant artistic community, clamorous markets and packed temples, this city is crowded and polluted, but ultimately invigorating.

Hotel VIP International stands apart with its modern architecture and interior design. This magnificent Budget Hotel in Kolkata is comparable to any Luxury Hotels in Kolkata.
This is a low quality hotel, can get much better hotel for same or slighly higher rate. Room was clean however bathroom was bad. Air conditioning when switched on was like a motor running, very loud. The communal area, in particular was so dirty, carpet looked like it not be hoovered or cleaned for 10 years and lift windows were broken.

It is basically a transit hotel for its close proximity to Kolkata Airport. The food was okayish. the rooms were kinda claustrophobic, but the service and facilities were average. Overall the stay was okay.

The Glenburn Penthouse is a discrete, elegant residence in the heart of historic Kolkata, with spectacular views of all her iconic landmarks; From Victoria Memorial to Eden Gardens, the lush green expanse of the Maidan and the majestic bridges that cross the River Hoogly. Conceptualised and executed over a number of years, the team behind Glenburn Tea Estate's boutique hotel in Darjeeling, have carefully amassed an exquisite collection of antique Bengal colonial furniture and artworks to create a haven of quiet luxury above the bustling streets of the city of Kolkata. Each of the 9 spacious suites have a large sleeping area with antique four poster beds, enough desk and sitting space for 2 people to live and work comfortably and efficiently, in a soft, elegant ambience, with lots of natural light. Easy-to-manoeuvre wooden shutters on all the windows allow for filtered shade during the hottest parts of the day, and reveal the spectacular views without the need for curtains or blinds. Shades of celadon green, yellow and white are complemented by mirrored furniture and textiles that include our Glenburn signature tea print on the bed linen and hand-embroidered luxury cotton sheets. Collections of art that reflect the historical theme of the hotel fill walls with interesting stories and map out journeys taken by early travellers. Fine carpets adorn the wooden floors to add a touch of warmth, while the cool marble floors of the elegant hallways, dressing rooms and bathrooms provide a welcome respite from the heat. The large 'white-marble' bathrooms are equipped with bathtubs and walk-in showers, with lots of natural light and Glenburn Therapy Darjeeling Green Tea bath accessories.
The afternoon English tea experience at Glenburn Penthouse is definitely worth every penny. The food served was made even more delicious admits the fantastic backdrop of Victoria Memorial. It offers the most fantastic views in the city and is a truly treasured experience. The hospitality and the service offered by them is outstanding and it truly makes the customer feel so special. Ms. Sapphira's service in our case was impeccable. The staff is extremely warm and courteous, leaving one longing to return!! A must experience in the city of joy!

The Viceroy, Kolkata is strategically located at a distance of about 2 Kms from the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport an exactly 5 minute drive to the Airport. It is a stones throw from the famous City Centre II Mall featuring shops, restaurants, multiplex cinemas. Located in Rajarhat on the main arterial road in close proximity to all the eminent corporate offices of Eastern India and the impending IT and Financial hub of Kolkata, the locational advantage complimented with mordern and crisp decor of rooms spacious in size would clearly spell out the USP of the hotel.
