Lovely staff, great set up. Immaculately presented. Nice and handy to beach. Very comfortable bed and nice a quiet. Surrounded with only the sounds of nature. All facilities in good condition and very clean and well stocked. Can’t fault at all and will definitely return.

Kauri Lodge is situated 13 kms from Cambridge New Zealand in the lovely Karapiro farming district. Your hosts, David and Shona McLennan, have enjoyed visitors from all over the world and New Zealand, and will do their best to make sure your stay in the Waikato is a memorable and enjoyable experience. We are close to our lovely LAKE KARAPIRO, home of our Olympic Rowers, and also popular for water skiing, swimming, kayaking, jet-boating, river cruises and fishing. It is a short drive from Kauri Lodge to HOBBITON of the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Cambridge is a beautiful "town of trees" and has many attractions including cafes and restaurants. An approximate one hour drive takes you to the famous WAITOMO CAVES, Raglan beach on the west coast, Mt Maunganui on the east coast, or to ROTORUA. We have a two bedroom apartment and also a studio unit at Kauri Lodge. Each bedroom in the apartment has a queen and a single bed, plus there is a single bed in the lounge. There is a very large private guest lounge, kitchen/dining area and a deck to enjoy the sunsets from. The studio unit has a queen bed and kitchen/dining/lounge (it is a different part of the farm from the apartment). There are impressive views of our farm and the Waikato Countryside and a deck where you can also enjoy a private BBQ. A short walk can take you to a beautiful native bush reserve. We offer Bed & Breakfast or you can just rent the apartment as a holiday home. We welcome children, and pets are also welcome by arrangement.
This place has a very nice feel to it, it's on a farm, unfortunately we didn't have time to look around much, beautiful views though, close to Hobbiton. Friendly host, lots of pets greeting us when we arrived. A very spacious two-bedroom apartment. Loved the bathroom with the heat lamps, excellent shower! Felt really at home there in the comfy bed.

We can recommend this lovely little 100+ year old cottage B & B in Te Awamutu. We had a room with ensuite and the use of the lounge & dining room with a Continental Breakfast. Friendly hosts and very reasonably priced. Close to town.

People were very welcoming, very friendly and the decor is well done. The steak was delicious and the desserts were excellent. Easy to find on the mail street of Huntly and quite a surprise to find such an up-market restaurant in the a town like Huntly. Good place to stop for a meal or break your journey from or to Auckland.

From the minute you walk up to the beautiful wooden front door you will be treated to a wonderful stay. We are a family who as a rule don’t do BnBs but made an exception as we wanted some unique Accomodation on our roadie. We weren’t sorry! Jen and Dewi are lovely and were very respectful of privacy. We would not have known they were in the same house. Jen is an absolute delight and has thought of everything! The breakfast was homemade and delicious. Best coffee too! On to the house - an amazing handcrafted barn house with three levels and your pick of multiple luxurious rooms. The kids loved the loft! Beautifully decorated with mood lighting and luxurious linen creates a perfect mix of rustic luxury. And in the morning a gorgeous view to the Kaimai’s. Highly recommend. It will be our go-to Accomodation for the Matamata area anytime we are there.

We stay here every time we travel north (from Wellington) to visit family in the Waikato. The Motor Lodge is consistently clean and well maintained. Jan and David are lovely hosts and nothing is too much trouble. This trip (mid January 2022) we were in unit 15 for four nights. My sister stayed in unit 8 for two nights during our stay. Unit 15 was a studio right at the back of the property. It's very big for a studio, we were very happy with it. My sister was very impressed with the quietness of her room, even though it's on a main road there is virtually no traffic noise at all. We were required to show our vaccine passes at the office which we all very happily did. We'll definitely be staying here again when we next visit my family. Thank you Jan and David.

Mia is a great host, this lovely modern studio style accommodation is situated on a beautiful property only minutes from the town of Matamata. Mia provides breakfast the night before so we had cereal, fresh bread, preserves, fruit, yogurt, milk & orange juice plus home made cookies. Bathroom has toiletries provided. 5 star Emanuels - Lake Karapiro Lodge is the ultimate in luxury accommodation. Enjoy one of your best sleeps ever and wake to a unique environment with stunning views over Lake Karapiro, the mighty Waikato River and lush Waikato countryside. Located in the centre of the North Island Karapiro has something for everyone... boating, water skiing, bush walks and a great choice of golf courses with sandy beaches, snow fields and lots of other adventures all nearby.
We stayed at Karapiro Lodge for two nights and biked the first section of the Waikato River Trails as a Christmas present to my husband. I chose the lodge for its luxurious, English traditional look and it was perfect. The lodge and gardens are beautiful and the view is wonderful. Ed and Ann are lovely, unobtrusive hosts and Ann cooks a wonderful dinner and breakfast.

YHA Raglan, Solscape makes for a relaxing retreat overlooking the surf. Diverse eco accommodations from beautifully simplistic to luxurious with options to suit all budgets - each lightening our ecological footprint. Our self-contained options offer a comfortable stay with private facilities for couples, families or small groups. For those happy to share facilities take your pick from recycled railway cabooses and earth domes or experience glamping in our Tipi Forest Retreat set in native bush. The Te Ao Whaanga Eco Camp provides a limited number of tent and van sites with solar heated showers and an indoor-outdoor kitchen.
An train carriage redone into a studio unit. Without doubt the worst shower I’ve ever experience, (and that includes throwing a bucket of water over myself) A rooster that screamed ALL NIGHT, a Kitchenette – that is unusable- we were unable to boil water thanks to a pan that leaked and a fridge that was hard to determine if it was cooler inside or outside of the white box. We abandoned our trip and left after one night. If you’re looking for a nice quiet secluded getaway with a reasonable price tag – look elsewhere.
