Portuguese, French and Berber architecture frame the maze-like streets of Essaouira, a charming and vibrant port and resort town on the Atlantic Ocean. Nearby, couples and families stroll the beaches of Cape Sim and Sidi Kaouki, which also attract surfers of all types. Relaxation is easy to find here, as is a bus to Marrakech, for those looking for a daytrip.

Its a small room, different from pictures. The location is good because you are in the center but its extremely noisy. From people shouting outside, to kids playing football, vendors outside walking with groceries. Makes it worse when you are on the 1st floor like i was. I would definitely never stay there again. Cleanish, and the staff was really nice (keep in mind you need to pick keys from somewhere else - Riad Inna). I give it 2 stars because it was by far the noisiest room i have ever been in.

In the old medina of Essaouira (Mogador), close to the ramparts, port, beach and souks, discover the charm of a riad with fresh and soft colors, with the one of the most beautiful terraces with panoramic ocean view. Geraldine gets you in this riad entirely refurbished in May 2015 according to European quality standards, great location for those who want to reside quietly in the heart of the city. The riad is a charming old house, with double and triple rooms. You can also enjoy another terrace sheltered from the wind on an intermediate floor. You will find the architecture of traditional Moroccan houses in Moorish style but also all the comfort for a nice stay. All rooms have a private bathroom. You can enjoy your breakfast or meals on either of the two terraces. Free WIFI on the rooms. The area : In the direction of Skala by Laalouj street, take Touahen street on the right before the ramparts. Saltana Riad is at the end of this street, near the small grocery store.

The room was a bit small compare to the others one, but we ask for 2 small bed, so try to avoid, very nice decor. The only window was in the toilet, the room a little dim for reading in bed. Breakfast was good and they should always serve more protein (egg and yogourt). We where there in Mars, a bit too windy to sit outside admiring the magnificent ocean view. Very friendly personnel. They should put a curtain in front of the shower to prevent the water to be in the room and they should add a heater like the others rooms to decrease the humidity.

We arrived from Marrakech in the evening. we were warmly welcomed by our host. Rooms were excatly what we had see on the site, the area is super nice and so calming The instructions are clear and the off track road fine (we did it easily in a normal car). We then spent the next day and half by the pool and went to Essaouira. The tajine was great and the breakfast wonderful - again so nice to have breakfast under the hot sun and by the beautiful pool.

Dar Afram is famous for music, a funky vibe and a special, unique atmosphere. A beautiful traditional riad run by friendly aussie-moroccans.There are 6 high standard spotless bedrooms like apartments with private bathroom and showers, sleeping 2 to 4 people. There is also a single and shared rooms available. You can enjoy a fantastic 360 degrees view of the sea and see far accross the roofs of the medina.Breakfast is included and is usually served on the terrace. Sunset barbeques is another feature of this wonderful terrace.Communal evening meals are organised everynight with some of the towns finest chefs and live music follows. Musicians and artists from all over the world visit dar afram. We even have an online you tube channel that captures some of the talent flowing through. Check out Dar Afram TV for some of the live perfomances. As written in our trip advisor and lonely planet reviews, Dar Afram is the pefect place to meet people and make new friends.A house of charm, inspiration and good feeling which is beautifully decorated with various art and antiques. Our guests often stay longer than expected and truly feel at home.
The Riad is in the Medina. Easy enough to find with Google maps. The room I booked was huge and quite well appointed. I missed not having a [Western-style] desk though. Breakfast was nice though the roof-top was a cold place to start the day [September]. A few services advertised when I booked were not provided. Eg free bottled water, daily house-keeping. Maybe I was supposed to ask for these but I think if advertised they should be given. Free Wifi was also included in room description but the owner said it was only available on ground floor [there was rather weak-wifi that penetrated my room so was passable].
