I stayed at the Hostal Mayor at the end of January which clashed with an international conference. Prices at the hotels were expensive but I found this accommodation at very good price. The single room was very small but clean and decent for the night I spent there. It is basic and good for a short stay. For longer overnights it might be better to opt for a larger room at the Hostal. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Perfectly air conditioned rooms that are equal parts comfortable, classy and clean. A perfect homebase for our first visit to Madrid for a good price. The owner is a delightful and enthusiastic woman that keeps the place clean and is always on hand in the day if you need anything, like more complimentary shower gel or towels. The rooms let little sound in from the outside and the communal areas are absolutely stunning-take a look at the pictures others have taken! Cannot reccomend enough, 5/5

We attended a wedding in Rascafria and stayed at Hotel El Rincon for 2 nights. The hotel is charming, with large bedroom rooms and modern roomy bathrooms. The staff were friendly, made us feel like family and took care of all our needs. Highly recommend this little slice of heaven in the mountains near Madrid.

No cancellation policy regarding death of a family member. They were still informed in advance of the bad medical conditions of the person and then informed about the tragedy, still did not decide to put themselves in the guest's shoes and refund us in any way.

Great location, right in the centre of the city. Rooms are basic but clean and I guess fairly recently refurbished. We had a triple room. Strangely we had a coffee machine but only 1 sachet of coffee and only 1 cup! Rooms are on the 4th floor while the reception is on the 7th being shared with other hotels in the same building. There is a lift but not quick and not big. Overall good value. However one big disappointment was when we arrived we had to leave our cases with reception as we had to arrive early as we were meeting other people in the city in the afternoon. No problem with that we knew we couldn't get to the rooms before three. However when we returned to collect our cases the "24 hour" reception was not manned and we had to hang around for over half an hour to get our bags. This aside it was ok.

Yes, the location is convenient. Yes, this hostel has a nice interior for the price. The rooms are modern and minimalist. But here's the thing: minimalism has been taken a step too far here. There's absolutely none of those basics you're expecting. No glasses or cups for having a drink or brushing your teeth, no fridge, no kettle, not even a single chair or a hook for outerwear. Plus a word of warning: the walls are literally paper thin. I could have easily taken part of a conversation the guests in the neighboring room were having, heard every time the doorbell rang (which was at all hours), people coming and going.. I'm not a light sleeper and even had some earplugs on but I still kept jolting out of sleep. Even though the style and location of this place are charming, not being able to even sleep is a reason enough to not return.

The hostel is located in a central area of Madrid, next to 2 Metro stations, 15 minutes walk from the Bernabéu stadium. The hostel's attention is excellent, very friendly. Recommended for people traveling alone since the bedrooms are small

The hostel is located in a historical building that dates back to 1920. In front of the popular Reina Sofia museum, it is located in the area known as the "triangle of art", because in this area we can find several museums, galleries and the historic spots of the city. such as the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum and the Prado Museum among others. 3 minutes walking from the train station that connects with all the lines, 'La Estacion del Arte' and Atocha.
Pros: They accepted us even though we called them 30 mins after and our arrival was at 7am. The price was not expensive. The morning shift staff (or owner?) was kind and honest to us. Though it’s on the 6th floor, there’s actually a lift. So idk why people in other reviews were complaining about it. Maybe they didnt notice the lift (elevator). Cons: the evening staff gave us a single bedroom with a price for double-bed room (which was later on fixed by the morning shift staff/owner) bed bugs!!! I understand that the bed sheets are new (as per the staff) but i know what i saw. It’s just a shame that the 2 staff denied that there were bed bugs even after i showed them the one dead on the floor, a big one. I have seen another small one crawling on the wall. Shame that they denied as I would have called their attention in the middle of my sleep when it crawled to my face but i was too tired from my long flight to do that. Noise: as per other comments, i would testify the same. You can hear all the footsteps of neighbours.
