I love the wooden structure. And particularly the dark wood floor. Very elegant, smooth and warm. Spotless. The rooms are spacious and clean. I had a room at the rear, overlooking the pool and very quiet. I imagine those facing the road may be noisy. The staff are very courteous and keep the place very clean. Many little local restaurants nearby. Good for exploration. Easy to run back to the hotel, take a break and then venture out again.

Nestled in the upper reaches of the Bolavens Plateau, Sinouk Coffee Resort offers to couples, families and friends , a fresh and haven to relax , rejuvenate and reconnect with Nature. The Resort is surely the most extensive and beautiful landscaped place in Southern Laos, don't miss it !
The resort is located in a beautiful garden at the coffee plantation. The room was perfect cozy, decorated Lao style and facing a water (small lovely pond and a brook) . Staff were caring and attentive. Great food that comes at a very good price and many choices. The hotel offers very good promotion/deals- excellent value for money. A great place to relax and rest.

Welcome to Don Som Riverside Guesthouse. Our guesthouse-homestay is located on Don Som (island), one of the islands of Si Phan Don (4000 Islands) in southern Laos. We are the only guesthouse on Don Som and our place is basic but gives you a good opportunity to both relax and experience local village life on one of the islands. We are not far from Don Det, Don Khone and Don Khong and it's not difficult to reach us from these islands and from Pakse. We also organize cooking classes, rent out bicycles and some other activities.
For anyone looking for a very relaxing Si Phan Done experience, I highly recommend Don Som Riverside Guesthouse. Just stayed there for a couple of nights and was very well looked after by Nangnoi, Tanoi and Sander. Yes, they are open - just send them a message and they will help you with how to get to the island etc. Don Som is more quiet than Don Det or Don Khone, and it's like staying in a village (with your private bungalow including a hammock). Loved my time there - would go back any time.

This is a lovely boutique hotel set in a beautiful garden with a great eating/common area overlooking the garden. It almost felt like you were eating in a tree house. The rooms were lovely and clean. The hostess Ngoc was so incredibly warm and welcoming. Cooking classes are also available here. I would definitely recommend this place.

I am not usually one to complain too much but I really dont know where to begin with this one! To give a little background, I have been travelling through Asia for the past 4 months and not once have I left a place early, until I came here. The bungalow we stayed in was an absolute disgrace. The 'curtains' were nothing more than sheets with huge gaps and holes in them (see pictures) so they may as well not have been there. The front door didn't close at all which at night made me feel uncomfortable to say the least. The bathroom was INFESTED with ants and I am not even exaggerating (again see pictures). The shower had no hot water and leaked. The bed was ok but the mosquito net had holes in in so really what was the point? The owner was never there so in the end gave up trying to complain and left a day early. And finally if you are dropped off by the boat at the Don Det harbour then it's a 5km walk with baggage. Take my advice, spend a little more and I can guarantee you will enjoy Don Det a lot more than I did!

We weren't too impressed with our stay here. It was very easy to find and the island itself was relaxing but our room desperately needed a clean - the bathroom plug hole was clogged with hair. It was nice to get free water each day but a little maintenance would be good. Staff were not interested in us really which was ok as we didn't really need anything but a shame that they weren't a little more friendly.

We stayed here three nights. The "cottages" are very cosy. They are not big but spacious enough. Wifi is bad but that's the case in nearly every part of this area. There is also a balcony. The place is beautiful with the waterfall as natural highlight. The restaurant is not very impressive... though staff is friendly. So if you have your own means of transportation have dinner somewhere else.

family guesthouse, cannot speak english, almost non-existent service, high prices for food, and ridiculous portions. If you need go somewhere, go pier, don't take the family boat, they'll charge you triple.

Xuan Mai is a peaceful relaxing oasis in a busy town. The rooms are huge, clean and comfortable and the owner Ngoc is friendly and extremely helpful. A little out of town but a short trip on an easily rented scooter A nice place to stay
