A place to relax and recharge
Reviewed By SoloistProHighly recommended for those who want to take things slow and get recharged with positive energy. Amphawa is truly the place for a quiet and peaceful weekend. Thanicha is located in middle of everything. With the the market only a few steps away. The tranquility of this place will take you away from the bustling of the big city. Modest but very clean rooms. The breakfast was hearty with traditional Amphawa specialty. The staff and the owners were very nice and friendly as if you are staying with a friend’s family. I went there twice during the semi travel restrictions due to the pandemic in November 2020 and again in April 2021. I will definitely stay here again.

Reviewed By DonDan666The first thing we noticed about this guesthouse is that the woodwork outside the room badly needed a coat of paint. Not a good sign. Inside the room there were a number of things that showed us that the owner has little understanding of customer service and needs (we booked two rooms and there were the same deficiencies). For example: 1. the double beds had only one bedside table 2. there was not a single chair in the rooms 3. the bathroom had plenty of wall space but not a single hook to hang your clothes on when you take a shower (what are you supposed to do, dump them on the floor?) 4. There was no soap in the shower - you had to move the small dispenser from the sink, then take it back 5.The bedroom had no hooks or cupboards, only a recess with a bar and two coat hangers 6. logging on to the internet was hit and miss 7. the breakfast was poor: Nescafe from small sachets, eggs and sausages that quickly got cold etc. - for some unknown reason there was no hotplate to keep the warm food hot. This is nowhere near a 3-Star hotel, and we won't be going back.

They provided transport and directions to the Amphawa floating market which is conveniently close by. We couldn’t have asked for a better environment to experience Thailand in.

Reviewed By Ralf SIm kleinen familiären Coconut Homes bei Frankie und Nat hatte wir schöne ruhige Tage und konnten auch das leckere Frühstück und die Drinks der beste Cafe im Coconut Homes Café geniesen. Für Familien mit Kindern ist es Ideal hier die Bungalows direkt am Pool Haustiere sind hier Hund und Katze. Für Ausflüge kann Frankie fachkundige Auskunft geben und organisieren. Leihfahräder und Roller sind vor Ort. 900m sind es zum schönen ruhigen Coconut Beach wirklich ein toller Strand. In Khao lak geht es auch etwas ruhiger zu es gibt einiges zu sehen und zu unternehmen. Restaurant und Cafés gibt es jedenfalls genug. Wir werden auf jedenfall Wiederholungstäter hier im Coconut Homes in Khao lak.

überteuert, kein Frühstück, kein Service
Reviewed By LungBenwir reisen viel, wie man an meinen Bewertungen sehen kann, und ich schreibe sehr selten einen Verriß. Hier muß es sein! Das Se Sun, wie es sich selbst bezeichnet, besteht aus 8 hölzernen Bungalows, die auf Betonstelzen direkt im Mae Klong River stehen. Sie sind relativ neu, sauber, haben Aircon und TV sowie WiFi in der ganzen Anlage. Der Weg dorthin führt über einen schmalen Pfad an alten Häusern vorbei und an Müllkippen, auch das Wasser rechts und links vom Weg ist zugemüllt und stinkt. Die Terrasse direkt am Wasser bekommt frischen Wind, das ist soweit OK, kann man sitzen, wenn man s denn gewohnt ist, auf dem Boden zu sitzen. Es gibt Matten und einige winzige Tische. Die Terrasse ist ringsum zugemüllt mit leeren Flaschen, einem kaputten Kühlschrank und anderem Kram, mag man eigentlich nicht sitzen. Der Service ist nicht vorhanden, wir saßen praktisch die ganze Zeit allein dort. Keine Möglichkeeit, einen Kaffee zu bekommen oder etwas anderes. Als Frühstück wurde Reissupe angeboten, wie sie Asiaten meist zum Frühstück essen. Auf unsere Bitte wurde wenigstens etwas Toasbrot und Eier gekauft, durften wir uns dann selbst zubereiten. Als Kaffee gabs mal wieder Pulverkaffee. Restaurant: Laut Buchungsseite soll gleich nebenan ein Restaurant sein. Ist es auch, öffnet aber nur am Wochenende! Fazit: Die Thaihäuser am Fluß sind von außen romantischn anzusehen. Wenn man so wohnen möchte wie (nicht wohlhabende) Thais, kann das Se Sun eine nette Erfahrung sein. Der Preis von 1.400 Baht für eine Übernachtung mit Frühstück ist maßlos überzogen. Ich habe selbst in Thailand gelebt, kein vernünftiger Thai würde für soviel Geld dort übernachten.

fantastic stay for the weekend
Reviewed By Christian KEverytime I go to Amphawa to escape Bangkok for the weekend I stay at Banmaihom. Yes it is far away from everywhere, but you can rent bicycles or a motorbike. The place is run by a nice elderly couple, who are former teachers and their daughter, who speaks really good English. The rooms are spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Everyone has seen the towels being folded a swan but here you will see an elephant :D The place doesn't have a restaurant, but you can order ( or let them do it for you) at a nearby local restaurant, which is good and very cheap and they will deliver it. Breakfast is probably the best I ever had in Thailand and can easily compete with a five star hotel. They sell some handmade souvenirs such as wood carvings too. This place has it all: friendly athmossphere and owners, good rooms and great food. Only downside: there are lots of mosquitos in paradise.
