Living in a modern city full of light pollution, have you ever seen the starry sky? Why not take a trip to Hakuba, which surrounded by mountains and beautiful galaxy, and enjoy the quiet and peaceful atmosphere? Don't forget to make a wish when you see the shooting star across the sky! Hakuba Valley Pension Meteor Garden is located near Misorano Road. There are 7-11 and Izakaya (Japanese tavern) beside our home. And you can get to Echo-Land, the most bustling area of Hakuba, just by walking for 10 mins. We provide 7 rooms, which can accommodate up to 24 people. Welcome to enjoy the sakura of spring, breeze of summer, Momiji (maple) of autumn, and of course the ski & snow activities of winter.
Dog Friendly! Very comfortable small rooms. Fu, the host, is a wealth of information regarding ski resorts, sightseeing & summer activities. Meteor Garden has hand sanitizers everywhere. We booked a room with a private bathroom, it was cozy & loved all the wood paneling. The basement level has a two showers, a free laundry area, TV room with couch & Drying Room.

There are not many hotels in Hakuba that tick all the boxes. We do! Located in the heart of town with walking access to many shops and restaurants, and a short walk to the main slopes of Hakuba’s main resort, Happo-one. Hot springs onsite Complimentary breakfast Stunning mountain views Free shuttles Hakuba Taproom, a wonderful restaurant with Japan’s best craft beer, and much much more!
Did a super short one night vacation with my family and this place was great. I'm not into onsens, but it was nice to have it for my daughter and wife. They loved it. I loved the views in the morning. We came in on a rainy day, but the morning was incredible! The Hakuba valley area is gorgeous and the view from the room was nice to wake up to. As a previous Hilton and Marriott hotel staff, I was very happy to see the staff service on point. The front desk must have good communication with the kitchen staff because they knew I was coming, and my god the food was awesome. Even if I go back for a day trip to Hakuba, I'll hit up the Hakuba Taproom at the bottom of the hotel. The burgers were super satisfying, and the tacos were awesome. I only tried three of the beers they had (too full), but the beer selection was also good. Looks like craft beers from all over Japan. There's a patio area for eating and drinking, and there are activities mixed in. Convenient for my kids.

We have stayed 4 times with Tsetsu at Meteor. On our first visit my son broke his wrist and Tsetsu was amazing at looking after us and ensuring my son got the necessary medical care. We have always been impressed with his extraordinary customer service and hospitality. This year we didn’t even consider alternatives when we decided to return to Hakuba. Unfortunately due to a misunderstanding the cottage we got was not suitable. No problem Tsetsu arranged alternative accomodation and took us there to view it and then gave us time to pack before driving us there. This guy is amazing and I can’t more highly recommend him to anyone staying in Hakuba - we will be back. Thanks Tsetsu ?

Hakuba Ski-kan is an absolute gem of a place to stay. Takako and her family were incredibly hospitable, the location is closely located to the ski slopes and restaurants, and the accommodation itself is very charming and culturally immersive. If you want a true Japanese experience in the heart of Hakuba, I highly recommend Hakuba Ski-kan. Thank you Takako, Kuni and the rest of the staff!

If you are staying in the Hakuba area, I highly recommend staying at the Pension Ringo-No Ki! The owner and his wife were the kindest, most accommodating couple, that are there to help you with any need. Some highlights are: Delicious breakfast in the morning, outdoor & indoor spa, and a comfy/relaxing atmosphere- especially great after a long day on the slopes or just checking out the town. Many great restaurants within walking distance as well. My partner and I couldn’t have found a better place to stay! We will be back.

It is a nice accommodation type pension that offers great long-term stay. Each room has its own Japanese style bath and toilet and it becomes a spacious room of 16 mats in total. Adjacent to Hakuba base camp where there is a village shuttle and express bus departure and arrival, guests other than car can also come in without inconvenience. There are also many restaurants and convenience stores wit
We stayed two nights in July. The rooms are clean and cozy. The tatami space with a separate bed space makes the stay comfortable. Many restaurants are nearby and a variety of foods are available. The service is mostly self-served. The common space has a microwave, coffee dripper, laundry washer/dryer. On the back, space for bbq is set. We like this hotel!

Small, but very nice and "your home like" pension. And fabulous dinner! Just excellent. It was 8500Yen include breakfast and dinner, I think it's worth to pay. I staid there from 30th Dec. to 1st Jan. so it was most expensive season. I strongly recommend this pension!

We met Nanjo (host) who was very sweet and kind. He was always hapoy to help. The first day me and my son needed to go to the supermarket, he insisted to drop us off and even came back to pick us up after an hour. The breakfast there was cheap and yummy. And we enjoyed the private Onsen! On the day we left Nanjo gave us a bottle of wine as a token of our stay! Definitely will come back here again. And you cannot miss the sign!

Nestled in the prestigious Wadano area, only an easy, flat 200m from the base of the largest ski resort Happo One, this hidden jewel offers unparalleled Western style accommodation, luxury amenities and service. Surrounded by restaurants, bars and onsens, The Ridge is the ideal location for everyone. Complimentary buffet breakfast, plus daily shuttle service to supermarket and surrounds, and located opposite the resort bus and ski school collection/drop-off point.
We spent 10 nights in a hotel room at The Ridge and loved it. Our room was huge; beautifully equpped and quiet as a church. Unusually for Japan, there was heaps of storage space in the room with cupboards, wardrobes and shelves a-plenty. The western breakfast buffet (which changed every other day) was good, although it might have been nice to see a Japanese option sometimes (an apparently almost exclusively Aussie clientele perhaps the reason why they don't). They have barista coffee available (at an extra cost) although we found the coffee available from the cafe in Ryhthm across the road rather better. The common areas of the hotel, while small, are delightful. The location is within a 10 min flat walk to the Kokusai lifts with a shuttle bus-stop outside the door. The walk into 'town' is a pleasant 15mins where there are heaps of eating and drinking options. The bar at the hotel (open from 4:30) is very pleasant and drinks are very reasonable priced. We ate one evening in the restaurant which was fine if unexceptional...there are lots of dining options you'll want to try anyway. Staff were all really friendly. Our room was always fully serviced while we were out skiing and left immaculate. Highly recommened and we will definitely return.
