The pension is clean, tidy and very friendly staff. The facilities are modern and the bathroom shower just perfect. Very cute shower cubicle. The staff were incredibly helpful in every way and even dropped my son and me back up to the bus stop on our final morning. In the lounge is a massage chair and foot massager, fireplace and the lounge is very cosy and nice to sit and relax. They have a coffee machine for guests to have at any time (no cafe latte function though). the breakfasts are fantastic and the kitchen ladies so friendly. The 4 resident cats is a nice touch and one is particularly friendly. Cons: very few! Tiny bar fridge in the room, can’t stand a 600ml-1L size bottle, yet there is room for a normal size bar fridge. In the common lounge are glasses, water fountain, kettle, coffee machine, tiny milk pods, tea bags - enough to sit and relax and enjoy. However there are no plates or cutlery (chopsticks present) so when you get take away or re heat 7/11 foods, you have to ask for stuff, but they are very obliging.

3 friends sharing a room. Western style bedroom with a shared Japanese style bathroom (although they had western toilets). Provided towels and toiletries in bathroom. Room was clean and comfortable although a little on the small side for three people, no storage space. 5 min walk to the ski lifts, restaurants within walking distance. Really friendly staff. Free whisky and wine every night!

Stayed for just one night at this very personal, homely bed and breakfast style accommodation. It is well located for Furano, and also walking distance to the winery and a great cafe. The owner, Jimmy, is lovely and he and his wife are great hosts. The food is great- the dinner in particular was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Ressha house, it's nice and close to the ski resort, plenty of great food options a stones throw away! Small simple rooms, shred bathrooms like most Pensions. Best price in town and great location. You are not booking into a 5 star hotel so don't have the same expectations. The owner was friendly and helpful, his English was quite good and was able to answer any questions we had. I'm heading back there again next February, can't wait!

It's a very nice place. It feel like I'm at home. The owner, his wife, and staff are very friendly and kind. Please stay here. It's my recommend place.

Forest View is an apartment style luxury accommodation in Furano resort, located just a few min. walk to Furano ski courses, the airport bus stops, good dinings and bars, and also Furano International Information center. The home stay was lovely overall. The house is located around paddy fields with potentially a great view. (we stayed during the Fall so there wasn't much plantation unfortunately) The room is traditional style and was very clean and has all the basic amenities you will need; water, tea, fridge, TV, toiletries ect. We were also shown to a hot stone treatment spa which was very relaxing after a long drive that day. Breakfast was inside Megumi's living room, which was very homey. She served us bread, Furano milk, coffee, cheese cake, Furano melon, Salad and Tomato Soup picked from her own vegetable garden and made by her mother. Megumi was very friendly, and spoke to us warmly. She was a lovely host. Thank you for having us!

Pros: Close to ski fields, Cheapish, Clean, nice lady who did cleaning Cons: Generally, a very unpleasant place to stay, everything is worn and old with no attempt at rejuvenation, very bare and drab -no personal touches. No public area to sit and chat. No cooking facilities. Unlike most other pensions, hostels & ryokans the owner is unpleasant and non-communicative and unhelpful Very little room to put clothes etc. The is no public lounge area to sit and talk to other guests Female Onsen is very small. Onsen hours are very limited. Beds are very uncomfortable with wires sticking out of the mattress Guest toilets have unpleasant smell. No handwash supplied. Stairs to the guest rooms are very slippery and dangerous- I fell down causing severe bruising and pain for several days. Another guest told me he fell down the day before, and yet another guest had fallen down on a previous visit. A metal lip is needed on each stair to stop falls on this highly polished and very slippery staircase. One hand railing was missing the day of my fell – I tried to talk to the owner and his comment was ‘be more careful’. No compassion for the week of pain and poor sleep due to my severe bruising – thanks for the worst skiing trip ever Pension Young House. There are much better options in Furano.

Overall, really average onsen. It gets the job done but it's not a nice facility. The outdoor onsen is quite small and can fit 5-6 people tops and you're not really looking at anything but a wall. If you're out of options for onsens and need a fix then I guess why not
