Friendly family run hotel
Reviewed By tobyNfifieIt was one of our Christmas pit stops with the family as Zella Mehlis is a reasonable distance from Leipzig - convenient for everyone. You definitely need a car to move around to the nearby towns. The morning walks near the hotel -was breathtaking especially those mornings where the surroundings were covered with snow…bliss! The hotel itself has a restaurant with pretty decent meals and breakfast. We were happy with the selection, the menu was pretty much a traditional German fare so if you are not into it, that might be a bit of a problem. The rooms were of decent sizes the only thing that bothered my hubs was the mattress- to him it wasn't firm enough. I was happy with it but then again I am the kind who could sleep almost anywhere! So if you love your firm mattress- sleep might be a bit of a bother. But Toby survived with the occasional morning whinge. Everyone at the hotel was so lovely, helpful and spirits were high, it's Christmas after all! :-)

Needs better job in up keeping
Reviewed By DevillavyI'll start with the positives. The location was ok, between oberhof and zella mehlis / suhl. The host was very attentive, and breakfast was quite nice. Room is very spacious and looked clean. What taken me back were, the rusty trash can and toilet paper stand in the bathroom. And the giant winter sport poster over the bed was a little strange for room decor. Given the price is quite reasonable so I'm giving an average. I would recommend it for short stay

Reviewed By bcs1309Zum Hotel kann ich nicht sagen, da wir hier nur zu Mittag gegessen haben. Die Gerichte sind eher Fleischlastig, aber ausgesprochen gut. Fleisch wird nur aus der Region bezogen. Sehr große Portionen und günstige Preise. Dazu ein leckeres Bier. Was will man mehr.

Reviewed By leidnicLeider muss man sagen, dass es nicht zu empfehlen ist, in dieser "Pension" zu übernachten! Die etwas trostlose Lage, hat wohl auf die Besitzer abgefärbt. Denn als trostlos kann man die ganze Pension bezeichnen. Abkassiert wird, bevor man überhaupt die Chance hat, zu sehen, was man für sein Geld bekommt. Nämlich ein Zimmer, dass selbst nach 2 Stunden Dauer-Lüften noch nach kalten Zigaretten-Rauch "stinkt", wackeliger Heizkörper, total verklebte Fernbedienung vom TV, Schranktüren die sich nicht öffnen lassen und eine Zimmertür, die bei jedem Lufthauch im Rahmen klappert. In beiden (getrennt stehenden) Betten lagen unterschiedliche Matratzen, eine war für den Rahmen zu klein und die andere so durch gelegen, dass am Morgen danach, die Abdrücke der Sprungfedern auf dem Bein zu sehen waren - an Schlaf kaum zu denken! Wirklich positiv hervor heben kann man die Dame aus dem Frühstück-Service, die auch die Zimmer reinigt. Sehr freundlich und umsichtig, leider etwas auf verlorenem Posten. Das Restaurant kann hier nicht bewertet werden, da es nicht geöffnet war!

Ein Ort ehrlicher Gastlichkeit
Reviewed By zag965Wir sind mit einer Autopanne gestrandet. Zu unchristlicher Zeit. Die Hilfsbereitschaft und Gastfreundschaft von Wirt Toschi selbst war weit mehr, als das Übliche. Und empfing ein sauberes Nichtraucherzimmer mit großem Komfort im modernen Sanitärbereich. Himmlische Ruhe des Nachts. Das Hotel ist perfekt gelegen an der Autobahn mit reichlich Parkplätzen vor dem Haus. Das dazugehörige Restaurant ist weit bekannt für die sensationelle Soljanka. Und vieles mehr, was wir nicht alles in Anspruch nehmen konnten. Toschis Glühwein hat unser Nervenkostüm beruhigt und seine Ruhe gab und das Gefühl am rechten Ort zu sein.
