We stayed at the Cornucopia hotel for 2 weeks during September 2021 and enjoyed it so much we rebooked as soon as we came home. The hotel manager- Brian is so helpful and friendly in a professional manner. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is amazing, plentiful and so varied. My wife is gluten intolerant and each evening Joshua in the restaurant advised her what she could have, without compromising on taste etc. He was so helpful and pleasant. The rooms are lovely and the whole hotel is spotlessly clean. All of the staff are lovely. The hotel and village are very traditional and so peaceful. Xaghra is a lovely village and although small, it is so peaceful with the most beautiful church. We had lovely walks in the surrounding area. We again enjoyed it so much and cannot wait to return.

I am surprised by the rave reviews for Elli Boo. We were disappointed with our stay. You are very much in the home of Tina and John which is beautifully kept but really an ordinary nice home, and you feel that you are in their space and not really welcome to be around apart from for breakfast.. I am not sure if John was ‘guested out’ but we were told off on several occasions - asking for beach towels, asking if we could heat some food, being seen with towels , carrying luggage down stone stairs.. I think we would normally be considered very good guests so we were a bit taken aback by these comments. We would not normally ask to heat food but had been told by John to bring doggy bags back from restaurants - and shown a drawer of plates and cutlery to use. We were not however warned before arrival that we were coming in a prime feast week and getting a local table for dinner would be nigh on impossible. I personally don’t like driving when I have had wine so certainly wanted to stay in walking distance. Beach towels seem a small ask when staying on an island where you are there for the swimming& snorkeling. If this is a problem - you should be told in advance to bring them out from home. I must say that we were allowed to heat food in the end and beach towels were provided by the lovely Tina. Just John’s tone on several occasions rather ruined this stay for us.

Botanica was a gem. The breakfast was AMAZING and the room was clean and comfortable. Sophie is a great host. The patio where breakfast is served has lots of flowers and plants. The pool area was nice for relaxing and the house felt homey. I enjoyed our balcony and the large bathroom. It is a very nice walk to the town square for dinner or to the temples. Bolt takes you anywhere on the island quickly as well. The stairs are a bit treacherous up, but that is everywhere in Malta. There is a darling cat at the home as well, Gracie, who sits nicely by you during breakfast and is a sweet cat who likes pets. I wish we spent more time here and it was a nice change of pace from Valletta.

Was very dissatisfied with the service. Its classified as a b and b and there was no breakfast at all. And to make things worse it even a pkt of milk to make tea. Not even a bottle of water. Most dissatisfied experience. The only thing that was good were the views . We asked for milk and we told to go and buy ourselves.

Il-Loġġa Boutique Hotel is a brand new boutique hotel located in a popular village of Xagħra, Gozo. Converted from an old house, you can still see many of the old features upon approaching the building. It consists of only twelve rooms, each luxuriously appointed and benefiting from en-suite facilities. Breakfast, use of roof-top pool and WiFi are all included.
This is really a boutique hotel - small, pretty, family owned, private vibe. The main building with the restaurant is very old and has a lot of atmosphere. The dining room, where you have breakfast, is stunning with an arched ceiling and heavy stone walls. The staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was very good. You can choose your breakfast on a list the evening before and leave your wishes at reception. You can get different egg variations, fried tomatoes, toast, bread, yoghurt, muffin, croissant, fruits etc. It was very tasty. (coffee what I guess is probably brewed from the desalinised seawater they have in Gozo - my husband liked it a lot but I got stomach problems, and after that drank only a little bit). We had two really warm days and after we asked we could have the breakfast outside at the terrace. Our room was number 11 with sea view - beautiful large balcony, nice view! Good mattress! The bathroom has beautiful marble-like tiles and nice smelling complimentary shower gel. It is a modern "walk-in" shower but as often with these showers the water gets back in the room a little bit... But not a huge problem. The room has coffee/ tea making facilities which is something we like so much!! We hiked from the hotel in a lot of directions and it was so beautiful everywhere. In April the island is one flower meadow. The bars and restaurants in Xaghra are only a short walk and very nice. We sometimes used Ecabs (similar to Uber) to get to and from hiking places farer away (highly recommend!). The beautiful Ramla Bay is only about 3-4 km walk (one way). If you are there for hiking you have so many beautiful choices. Don't miss out on the coast around San Lawrenz, the bays Mġarr ix-Xini or Hondoq ir-Rummien, Xlendi bay with the old tower and and ... We used the German hiking app komoot a lot when planning our hikes. And google maps :-) We also had a meal at the IlLoggia Restaurant. They have a huge choice of wine, food is on the expensive side. It was nice, but for me they have a limited choice as I eat no meat). The swimming pool at the roof top looked very inviting - to cold in April but I guess it must be wonderful in summer. Altogether we had a lovely stay - keep up the good work!

Pergola farmhouses are situated on this Mediterranean jewel, surrounded by many of the island's attractions and dominated by spectacular country and sea views. Our farmhouses are all situated in the village of Xaghra, one of the most beautiful on the island. It is the village where one can find the Ggantija temples (the oldest free standing temples in the world), Calypso's Cave, the magnificent Basilica and the bays of Ramla and Ghajn Barrani amongst others.
Villa Homedes is a comfortable holiday home, with stunning sea views and a remote location, ideal for a tranquil getaway. The owners are extremely friendly and are always on hand to help if you need anything. Thank you so much!
