The room was very big and clean, the hotel has a nice bar where you can order some small food platters to eat and drink some beer wine or cocktails. The breakfast in the morning is superb, everything is nice and fresh made a big variety of food warm and cold fresh fried eggs and so on . We certainly will come here again soon.

Embedded in its own 54,000 m² wooded park in Wesel, this hotel is a perfect base from which to explore the Niederrhein region. Alternatively, relax in the extensive spa facilities. The rooms at 4-star Am Tannenhäuschen guest house are individually furnished and fitted with modern amenities, including free wireless internet. A comprehensive breakfast buffet is included in the room price. In the elegant Parkrestaurant, dine on delicious international specialities. Relax in the cosy Literatur-Café Tannenhäuschen, serving light snacks and hot drinks, and take your coffee onto the sun terrace when the weather is warm. In the winter, enjoy a seat by the open fireplace in the Kaminhalle. In the Aqua Silva spa area, enjoy a range of facilities, including a pool and sauna area. Cosmetic treatments and massages are also available. Alternatively, enjoy water sports, walks, or cycling at the nearby lovely Auesee lake.
Excellent wellness hotel in a nice and quiet area. Very good buffet-diner, breakfast and service. Spacious and clean rooms, besides wellness lots of other amenities. Bit on the pricey side, but that limits the audience. Not all sauna's are open early, so that limits the sauna visits for the early birds. I can recommend this hotel.

You will never find this restaurant by chance. It is in Büderich, a small German town on the western bank of the Rhine not far from the Dutch Border. You will discover a small building isolated from the town on the Rhine bank. The ground floor is a restaurant and the upper one a small hotel. First thing to notice is a picture with Churchill, Montgomery and Eisenhower, probably sat at the same table as you, taken someday in March 1945. From the terrasse of the restaurant they supervised the occidental allied forces crossing the Rhine. The food is good and the ratio quality/price is highly beneficial to the customer. Do not miss the dark beer from the barrel. Once your meals are arrived, enjoy a unique view to the Rhine with the river boats going up and down the river from Rotterdam or Anvers to Cologne or Duisburg. The staff is nice and they try to understand your English.

Marcus Straube

Wesel was an important city in the German Hanse, It has been almost completely destroyed in the Second World War. Nevertheless, this town is worth a visit, be it only to admire the cathedral ("Willibrordi-Dom") which has been beautifully reconstructed. If you look for a non expensive, clean and central hotel in Wesel with good parking possibilities, the hotel "Zur Aue" is a good choice. You will appreciate its friendly, helpful staff and the large choice at the breakfast buffet.

This is an average 3 star hotel. a bit old fashioned, and no airco. Free parking is good, and free wifi is also good, but is is a bit unpractical to get access. Breakfast time has to be announced at arrival, also a bit unpractical, better with a buffet. The room is fine, a bit small, but oke. Just a one person bed, i prefer a two persons bed to sleep.
