Nice old 3 star Hotel, one of the few survivors of the 1944 bombing – the rest of the town rebuilt and rather uninspiring. Large covered garage next door - best to book in advance. Busy street, so pull in outside hotel and ask them to open the door. Small, newly painted room, with tiny balcony. Good mirrors and storage. Comfortable bed, but hard, lumpy pillows. Noisy street at front but effective double glazing, though no aircon, so might not be so good in hot weather. Adequate bathroom /WC with OK shower in bath. Good lighting, smallish TV with no working channels in English. WiFi OK. Few, but friendly and pleasant staff. Breakfast in huge restaurant OK, with quite a lot of choice, but only two juices, and fresh fruit but no fruit salad. Restaurant closed for dinner, but nice lady recommended and booked the excellent Coupe d'Or round the corner. Interesting basilica and cathedral a fairly easy walk.

KYRIAD Lisieux is a modern hotel with a contemporary style. Located 3 km from the city center, it is ideally located 30 km from the beaches of Deauville, Honfleur and Cabourg. The Kyriad of Lisieux is an essential step to visit the ZOO of CERZA, the Basilica Sainte Therese of Lisieux, the cheese factories and the distilleries. The hotel has private parking and offers two types of rooms, standard for small budget and Superior for those looking for a little more comfort and equipment. The hotel offers a restaurant service with the "Bistro Léon", where you can enjoy its buffet, giant salads, meat and fish.
For just under €150 we had an excellent clean room, a really good evening meal with drinks from the hotel's restaurant and a superb breakfast. Secure car parking and an excellent friendly and helpful staff. Would certainly staff here again.

In Front of Jardin de l'Eveche, in Lisieux, in Normandy
Super location in the town centre, and with free secure parking so we felt very happy leaving our car here too. The apartment we were given was big enough to move into permanently - absolutely lovely - plenty of space and having the kitchen was brilliant. We were able to chill some fruit and drinks and really relax for the final nights of our trip around Normandy. Friendly check in, This is a beautiful property - we didn't use the bar as we wanted to hang out in our apartment but we did sit in the garden in the sun one afternoon which was lovely too and we were also able to use the indoor pool. Disliked · Only one small observation - we struggled to find the car park! But a couple of trips around the block and we worked it out - another sign when you drive around the corner pointing us to the right access point would have been helpful!

Behind each hotel is a personality. Our hotel Villa des Arts, design and colorful, was born from the will of its owner, passionate collector, to share his passion for contemporary art, to fully benefit each of our customers of 17 themed rooms all decorated by artists, temporary ephemeral exhibitions.Another focus of the owner is to serve in our restaurant, local and bio produces.
My wife and daughter had a very pleasant stay at the swanky Villa des Arts (August 14th , 15th) and we originally gave them a review of “excellent” (albeit we overlooked the very slow dining room service, but the excellent service provided by the group of nice young men operating the place made up for it). Upon checkout we paid for our two-night stay in cash of 242 euros, instead of using our credit card that we used to book the stay on booking.com. Perhaps that seems like a risky venture? Well, we’ve paid in cash numerous times at hotels and never had any problem until these guys decided to sting us. Unfortunately we got rid of the receipt of payment too hastily as it was almost unthinkable that such a delightful bunch of young men would try to rob us blind! Alas, that was our foolish mistake. A couple of days later we saw that they charged us a second time on our credit card the full amount of 242 euros. I called them which forced me to use my limited French speaking skills to suggest that perhaps there had been a simple misunderstanding. None of the staff speak much English except for one fellow, who speaks very well, but somehow my phone calls and my follow-up emails evaded him as well as the mysterious “receptionist” who they promised would get back to me but never did. I finally got through and the response sounded of genuine concern: “Oh là là! C'est un problème!” How these lads operate with such flair! They said they’d call back but didn’t. I contacted the booking.com and shortly thereafter we received an email from the hotel stating that they had made a mistake and that they would reverse the charge. So it was a hilarious misunderstanding after all! They scanned us a (bogus) credit card transaction slip that they claimed served as proof of our reimbursement. We waited a few days, but no reimbursement. We contacted the hotel again and they encouraged us to check with our own bank to see if the problem might be with them - what brilliant lateral thinking! Why hadn’t I thought of that? We kindly asked them to provide further proof of the refund through a more reliable electronic format. But no answer. We told them if the problem wasn’t resolved by September 6th, we’d express our dissatisfaction through multiple Internet platforms. Again, no answer. Et voilà! Nearly a month later and a whole lot of time and energy spent, not to mention fleeced of 242 euros. USE CAUTION when approaching this hotel, so that you don’t end up a victim of highway robbery, which in the spirit of the hotel, is executed so very artfully.

We arrived at the apartments and did wonder if we had the right place. It looked like a block of flats with very few signs of life. A note on the door explained how to contact the caretaker as the reception is not staffed after 8 pm. He duly arrived and did not speak a great deal of English, but we managed to understand each other with some 'O' level French. There are codes for the front door and the gate. The gate is closed at 9 pm. We went into Lisieux for something to eat and brought a takeaway back to the apartments. We did have some trouble getting back through the gate as the code did not seem to work, but some help over the intercom got it sorted. We had two apartments between the six of us (one family and one double) and both were very clean and well presented with a good wifi signal. We even managed to find a film channel in English. The rooms were quite hot, but you can open the windows and close the electric shutters with some air gaps so we had a very restful nights sleep. There is an option of continental breakfast for an additional charge (7.5 euros), but we decided to check out and go into Lisieux for breakfast at a cafe. Lisieux is a lovely place to look round and we spent longer there than we anticipated as it was a stop off on the way through France. If we do a similar trip we would be happy to book the same apartments

The rooms where a bit dated. Although everything was very clean. And i slept very good. The breakfast was reasonable quality. If you for a place for a night, than it will be a good choice. In the centre of the city.

We were exhausted when we found this place and can confirm its Tripadvisor rating as the worst rated hotel in Lisieux. It must also be the worst hotel in the Logis guidebook, which is saying a lot. It is absolutely awful. It is very run down and on a noisy road. The old carpets and a greasy smell greet unwary guests. Our room was above kitchen which had a radio blasting and a horrible odor permeated into our bedroom which made one retch, especially in the morning. It had unusable wifi, foul smelling blankets and a dangerous, super filthy shower head. As a final insult, without asking, they added 19 euros onto our bill for unwanted breakfast and refused to refund on the next day. This hotel might have been a pleasant place once but it should have been booted out of the Logis hotel chain long ago.
