Come to dream in la Fonda, one of the best hotels in the area. Feel the warmth of Eugenia's team from the moment you book in! The hotel is decorated with love, the beds are amazing and if you can get room 12 do it! The morning light is spectacular. Have bites in their terrace by a michelin star chef from Jerez and leave your watch at home. Enjoy the change of colours of the sky while you see Morocco at the far end zipping excellent wines and enjoying the attentive service. It is trully magical. We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary and they went all the way for us. 24 hrs in la fonda is better than a spa! The only issue is that we booked one night only, next time 2 nights! Gracias amigos!

La Casa del Califa is Vejer's No.1 hotel, which since its founding in 2001 has become a favourite place to stay in Andalucia for travellers and Spaniards alike. The Califa's origins date back to the 10th century, with the building sitting in the heart of Vejer in the palm filled Plaza de España. The historic hotel offers views across the marshes, forests, and hills of the Atlantic coast. The Califa offers a wide range of rooms, from simple doubles to luxurious suites, catering to guests of all tastes. The rooms are spread out among interwoven buildings linked by staircases and courtyards, with a characteristic Andalucian patio garden at its heart. The Califa is the ideal place from which to explore the Atlantic Costa de la Luz (the Coast of Light) & the 'Sierras' of Cádiz. The cultural and outdoor attractions are endless: walking, bike riding, trekking, birdwatching, painting, visiting Cape Trafalgar, seafaring Cádiz, long empty beaches, quiet palm-filled plazas, the sherry bodegas of Jerez, kitesurfing, horseback riding through pine forests, a day trip to Tangiers, sunset drinks on the hotel terrace, magical white towns...all this and more is a daily experience at La Casa del Califa. In our small and intimate hotel, you will find just the right balance of comfort and decor combined with wonderful views, tranquility, and of course excellent service. Convenient private covered parking is located just 80m. from the hotel.
Really lovely hotel. Even as a group of 7 somewhat dishevelled, after a long, hot ride, motorcyclists we were given an extremely warm and friendly welcome. Rooms charming and very comfortable. Everyone at the hotel most helpful. Lovely setting in a very pretty town.

We only stayed here because we had a free voucher that we have to use. We have been to Vejer many times and love it but this is the first time we have stayed there in the winter. the hotel is well located in the center of the village a short walk from one of the main car parks. The hotel decor follows the convent theme and consequently is fairly basic and austere in general. This is particularly evident in the bathroom, which is in real need of an update. However the heating worked fairly well and the small television was okay although it did seem to lose signal from time to time. The double bed was small but we managed to sleep okay. Since our offer included half board we had dinner in the hotel restaurant. The service was excellent and the food tasty enough, but nothing special. The breakfast in the morning was basic too, just a coffee and a toasted white roll with butter. These days I think most people expect a bit more luxury and comfort when staying at a hotel but if you choose to stay in a convent you should know what to expect.

Las Palmeras del Califa is Vejer's most sumptuous guest house hotel with views from all rooms and terraces. Enjoy a charming courtyard with swimming pool. Situated in the heart of Vejer's medieval quarter and distributed on three levels the accommodation is divided up into intimate corners of the house. The old Moorish courtyard (dating back to the 14th.C) and the swimming pool terrace form the focal point of the house while the Arab well & stone arches are all original features of the house discovered during restoration. Affording the best blend of rural & town location 'Las Palmeras' is on the edge of the town's historic palm filled Plaza de Espana. Parking is easy as there is both top floor entry level parking in the Plaza or there is a small car park just a few meters from back of the house.
This is an annexe of the main hotel where the rooms are larger suites and you have access to a small swimming pool. Although more expensive than the main hotel, the pool access alone sealed the deal for us. It was a fantastic to have this on a hot afternoon even in May. You check in at the hotel in the town plaza and then walk down the street and around the corner to Las Palmeras. We paid for car parking which is a short walk away. Be warned the allocated spaces are in the basement and the car needs to be able to turn a very tight corner to access the ramp. My husband managed it but it was challenging. The hotel is decorated with style and many antiques and photos from the owner James's childhood in Africa and unconventional family travels. We met partner Ellie in one of their restaurants who explained this and it adds considerably to the charm of this hotel. Although Vejer is packed with ( currently underbooked ) restaurants, we found the food in hotel-owned Califa Express and Corredera 55 to be our best meals. Breakfast is fine though we did not like the spelt bread rolls. Lovely to eat in the garden with palm trees. Do not miss drinks or Moroccan afternoon tea on the rooftop terrace and with time you get used to the Escher-esque staircases around the hotel buildings. We thought that the hotel and Vejer in general was like a love child of Greece and Morocco. Swallows swoop the pool in the afternoons, bells ring, children play in the Plaza, sparrows chirp noisily at sunrise and sunset. We had a comfortable stay and would recommend.

Hostal La Botica is situated within the walls of the old town of Vejer de la Frontera, and it owes its name to the fact that it was once the local pharmacy (Botica meaning pharmacy in old Spanish). This has been the inspiration behind the names of the bedrooms, all of which pertain to different schools of pharmacy.La Botica could be described as a home-hotel; we would like our guests to feel like welcome visitors in our home, rather than clients, and we believe that this is the best place to stay in Vejer. We have placed particular emphasis upon creating comfortable rooms in which the charm of the building itself, its location, and the views offer the defining character.
Superb small hotel in centre of Vejer de la Frontera . Spotlessly clean . Lovely beds and bed linen . Air con in room . Lovely roof top terrace with great views . Adequate breakfast . Lovely staff . Only negative no access to tea or coffee or fridge facilities

Great place for friends to spend a golf vacation. The common areas are fun to spend time together in. Excellent place for an extended golf vacation, challenging 18 hole golf course, friendly helpful staff, not overcrowded. Easy to drive to restaurants in the area. 20 minutes from the beach at Zahara.

The name is Hostal La Janda. It's a one-star (*) hostal because there are rooms but (technically) no food. The wi-fi is a bit touch-and-go unless you sit in Reception . . . which is upstairs. The front/outer door is often (usually) locked but press the button and it's opened quickly enough. Ideally located for touring this part of Andalucia and for local shops. The 'restaurant' of the same name is next door but there's no inside route from one to the other. Most of the time (in my experience) the tapas bar was open but not the restaurant. Access from N-340 is via the junction at the end of the autopista, because the easterly road serves the old, and completely different, part of the town. Free parking is not a problem.

It's a charming & familiar Hotel with big and confortable bedrooms. We try that our client feel our friendship. Strategically,it's very good placed; it's near to the beaches and to the fantastic tipycal Andalusian towns: "Pueblos Blancos", Bodegas, Horse Shows, Golf, Marruecos,...Come and visit us!
Comfortable and spacious room, excellent garden area and pool and friendly staff. Breakfast was very good and there was plenty of it, should you be peckish. You could pay twice as much for a hotel and not get as nice a stay.
